We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

I went to steamprices.com and sorted by % discount. Found some stuff that way before I realized that I really don't want to purchase any indie titles and feel burned when they show up in a bundle later. So, Hazen comes off the list. I think I'm gonna stick with games from larger publishers, or at least ones whose games haven't yet been bundlized. So it looks like the Walking Dead, the Cursed Crusade, and Drakensang (finally a good discount!).
 
I picked up KOTOR2. I'll pick up some of the cheapies before the sale ends. The only thing that would really pump me up (that could potentially happen) is New Vegas Ultimate for $5 and Bully for 75% off.

I bet Intrusion 2 and Grimrock will be in the next numbered Humble Bundle along with one of Double Fine's newer games.

*cries and laughs at capcom's sale*
 
Well, I used up some Steam credit on KotoR I & II (even though I have physical copies of them somewhere - probably my Mom's attic) and the Witcher: Enhanced Edition. Been playing through the Witcher 2 and am enjoying it, so for $2.50 I figured what the hell.

I would wait on that. It's on sale the whole week and there is a chance it may go cheaper on a flash or daily.
 
I just wanna point out that the Bionic Commando Pack is $10. Bionic Commando Rearmed is one of the best games this gen and None of my friends own it...

The Dev made some noise about a Thanksgiving sale. Some CAGs are holding out for better than 25% off. If you were going to do a 4-pack (steam keys), GamersGate has the 4-pack for under $10 after IGN and 2GPO.

Edit: Great, just great, Jackovasaurus takes threadjacking to a whole new level.
 
Sooooo... Half-Minute Hero is 40% off, I think it's been not lower than that since it launched two months ago, plus it doesn't look like bundle fodder enough... could CAG convince me of the contrary?

50% off games in steam no longer gets my attention. 75% off is where its at for me to pull the trigger on purchases. Hope the next set of deals will be better.
 
I haven't added funds to my Steam wallet since the summer sale but I don't remember needing to provide billing information when using paypal. Is this a new thing or do I just have a poor memory?

Steam's 75% off is crystal meth for CAG's. You're addicted and eventually you find yourself having a very serious backlog problem. Yet you can't quit hitting the add to cart button when you see dat percentage.

On Dear Esther
Well I for one recommend it. Its a nice haunting tale with good atmosphere. I thought it would have ended up in a bundle by now. Its more just a story with some amazing level design. Some of the levels are very very beautiful such as the caves and the harbor scenes. Its also quite spooky. I didn't find it boring at all. I also bought and enjoyed Dinner Date. If someone finds Dear Esther boring, my god they need to stay away from Dinner Date.

Basically, Dear Esther isn't a game. It's a digital movie. A nice one, but... in order to be a game you need... game play.
 
Maybe so. What should we call it then, interactive art? Yeah lets call it that. Sounds so much better than game. I defend Dear Esther getting slammed every steam sale. I'd take Dear Esther and the story, soundscape, and world created over 90% of the other standard button mashing that goes on. Someone who likes Journey would probably like Dear Esther. Replay value though is extremely low if not nill.
 
I have no problem with it. I'll never buy it but I have no problem with it. Just making sure people know what they're paying for.
 
has anybody bought a Steam wallet code from best buy before, does anyone know if they email you the code or if the send a physical card by mail?

I just ordered one and got the email confirmation but I haven't receive the steam code yet
 
They should. Value isn't extremely high. 2.50$ for maybe a half hour to and hour and thats it. Someone who likes Journey might like Dear Esther. All you do is walk and experience a story, setting, mood, atmophere, etc.

Huh. As cheesy as it sounds I may try asking for such a thing for Christmases/birthdays in the future. I'm normally a pain in the ass to shop for since there isn't much I need or want, but setting fire to money for awful games on Steam is always welcome.

they just started selling them this week, they have $20 and $50 cards available but best buy doesn't have any info in the description it doesn't say how they will deliver the steam code. I got one $20 card with BB credit so I could use it on a couple of games during the autumn but if they end up being physical card I will befuck out of luck, the delivery estimate is 12/03 by then the sale will be over

EDIT: by the way I got mine online, I don't know if they sell them in-store yet I haven't checked

They do sell em in store, physical cards in the back by the pc section. They work.
