The Yes We CAG Movement - Now to win the Presidency!

Voted early this morning. Got there at 7.45 (the place I went to opens at 8), and there already were like 40 people! Was able to get my ballot and left by 9, but it was still crazy.

I got a book with all the amendments and judge information, but the ballot itself was really strangely worded. I'm glad I brought that book with me; I knew what my stances were, but I didn't know if it was "yes, I agree" or "no, I agree" @_@

I also got a sticker yay!

EDIT: I was also surprised at how many nominees there were for President & Vice! I was always under the assumption that there were like three or four. I didn't count, but I think there were at least 10!

I seriously hate this whole, OMG TAX THE RICH THIS IS SOCIALISM!!!
We will help people that are less fortunate then others! MARXIST!

I hope someone breaks into your house, steals your cool shit, and gives it to an orphanage. Because I guess as long as they give it to someone poorer than you, you won't complain, right?

I give more then enough money to the united way out of my pay check every week. I donate thousands of dollars of stuff to the salvation army every year. I give plenty to people less fortunate to me.
Uhuh. By that definition, as long as rich people own businesses that poor people buy from, it's redistribution of wealth like you state.

I tell you what, when a large percentage of those that don't pay any taxes at all are given a fat check from the government, there is a word for that - welfare. That's not a new tax idea, that's the largest welfare system in history.
Everybody pay some form of taxes. There's sale, food, income, property, etc. Even my 6 year old cousin pay tax for his candy bar.

That's true. But we are talking income tax. Not to mention that food stamps aren't usually taxed.

Pay no income tax + Get a check from the government = Welfare.

Whats wrong with helping out the poor?

Let's make the really poor people give up any little money they have to make the rich people really richer. Also let's give them a bigger tax break too, since people on welfare aren't paying income taxes and its hurting them.

oddly enough.. most of the Republicans are the staunch Christians supporters of good morals

but no wait... they want to screw the poor!.. why help out someone else who is less better off than you because you want to keep All OF Your Money!!! I earned it!!!!

its two conflicting ideologies... you would think that Christians would want a system in place that helps out the poor and less educated.

Instead from the way they talk.... there's no way Jesus would want a regulated economic system... everything needs to be untaxed- screw the poor.

Charity doesn't spring from the barrel of a gun.

There's nothing wrong with helping anybody.

There's something wrong with being forced to help somebody.

It is even worse when the person being helped makes lifestyle choices to remain in a position requiring assistance.

But... that's a can of worms.

Yes thats why everyone complains when their taxes go to USAID........

Just think how hard a tax increase would hurt them...
Do billionaires really need to make that much more money? Last I heard there's no lucky prize when you die if you rake in the most money.

But you could get the label.. as being one "Greedy ###tard"

We need a Change! Obama for Prez!!
Only a few hours before we know.

I remember when I first learned about Barack Obama at the DNC in 2004.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWynt87PaJ0
I remember wayy back in the summer of 2004 when NPR was doing a story about the Race in Illinois for Senator, and how the front runner s had married Jeri Harwell (chick from StarTrek) and had a sex scandal.

So his opponent a Guy w/ a funny name called Barack Obama was very likely to win... and then when he gave the DNC speech in 2004... i was like OH I remember him!!

Its been 4 long years... and in a matter of hours .... YES WE CAN!

Do you have a job?
Do you consider the person(s) that own the company you work for rich?
Do you like keeping your job?

Why do you want to punish them again?
Man Obama aged quite a bit since '04. This election really took a lot out of him.
Have you looked at GW lately? The Presidency (and the race for it) will take years off of any candidate's life. Clinton and Bush both looked like they aged 20 years instead of 8.

Oh, and I thought they were gonna storm the White House and paint that mutherfucker black last night.

The World stands with Obama:

PALESTINIAN LEADER MAHMOUD ABBAS

INDIAN PRIME MINISTER MANMOHAN SINGH
"Your extraordinary journey to the White House will inspire people not only in your country but also around the world."

AFGHAN PRESIDENT HAMID KARZAI

"I applaud the American people for their great decision and I hope that this new administration in the United States of America, and the fact of the massive show of concern for human beings and lack of interest in race and colour while electing the president, will go a long way in bringing the same values to the rest of world sooner or later.

"I [hope] President Obama's coming into office will bring peace to Afghanistan, life to Afghanistan and prosperity to the Afghan people and to the rest of the world."

RUSSIAN DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER GRIGORY KARASIN

"The news we are receiving on the results of the American presidential election shows that everyone has the right to hope for a freshening of US approaches to all the most complex issues, including foreign policy and therefore relations with the Russian Federation as well."

FRENCH PRESIDENT NICOLAS SARKOZY

"I give you my warmest congratulations and, through me, those of all French people. Your brilliant victory rewards a tireless commitment to serve the American people.

"By choosing you, the American people have chosen change, openness and optimism. At a time when all of us must face huge challenges together, your election raises great hope in France, in Europe and elsewhere in the world."

CHINESE PRESIDENT HU JINTAO

"In a new historical era, I look forward to taking our bilateral relationship of constructive co-operation to a new level."

JAPANESE PRIME MINISTER TARO ASO

"As the world faces many difficult issues, I am sure that the United States, under the excellent leadership of President-elect Obama, will move further forward while co-operating with the international community.

"With President-elect Obama, I will strengthen the Japan-US alliance further and work towards resolving global issues such as the world economy, terror and the environment."
