Tonight Show Shakeup Leno Back In

That'd suck if Lopez gets pushed back an hour. :( He's the reason I stopped watching Conan. I'm not about to start again, either. I'm all about Dave and George.
 
Although Lopez will always be better than Conan, and nothing you say will ever change that, care to explain why you think he sucks?
 
Cool way to start a discussion. I foresee plenty of "you're wrong" responses when someone asserts themselves like that.

So I'll just keep on my path: Lopez sucks, having seen his abysmal standup and TV show, which is basically Carlos Mencia level bullshit where you just color everything with a racial layer in order to maintain some sort of fantasy street cred in the hopes that your niche audience is going to eat it up.

It's cool - Dane Cook does the same thing.
 
That would've made a better initial post than just "Lopez sucks." If that's how you feel, that's how you feel. I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion.

Conan on TBS is pretty awesome news. He'll be able to get away with a lot more stuff than NBC would have allowed. I'm very excited about this!
 
Odd move IMO. I'd of thought he'd go to Fox and get more viewers.

Or Comedy Central at Midnight following The Daily Show and Colbert Report if he was going to cable.
 
Although I welcome the return of Conan...I gotta say a big hmmmmm when the choice was made to go to TBS. I rarely watch TBS except for some sienfield (sp?) and that's it. I thought he would do well on FOX or on CC. FOX should have given Conan what he wanted because the ratings he would bring in would give some serious competition to CBS/NBC. Oh well Conan, glad your back..but I dunno if your show/acts will ever be the same without some of your iconic characters :|
 
The report from Fox, is that they didn't want to bump anything they have right now. They're doing fine with reruns of popular shows like Seinfeld and Family Guy, and they wouldn't have been able to put Conan on at the time he wanted in every market.
 
Well, he'll start in November and that's good, but come April and through the summer of 2011 won't he sometimes get pushed back by baseball? Isn't TBS like the Atlanta Braves station or something? I dunno....it's been a long time since I've watched that channel.

i read this earlier. TBS wasnt even on my radar of stations i thought conan would go to. that said, im glad hell be back on the air and im sure on TBS hell be able to do more "conan" humor, which is a good thing for his fans.

Not anymore, but it used to be. They gradually cut down the number of Brave's games they showed, and switched a few years ago to just showing little baseball and a variety of teams and not just Braves games.
 
I'm really surprised, but very excited. I've been a Conan fan for a decade or so, and I'm just happy that he'll be coming back to television.

Man and I was just thinking Conan needs to add a couple segments but he could really make it one and call it: The Top 10 DPs

They show 1 MLB game every Sunday afternoon, teams vary.

TBS also shows NL playoff baseball so he's safe this year but that could affect Conan in 2011.
 
Playoff Baseball would be no big deal. They only show the first round and a lot of those games are in the day.

There are some night games, but at most he'll just take that as one of his weeks off and show re-runs on the nights there isn't a late game.

To get cheaper cable internet?

That's the only point I've ever seen to the limited basic as you generally don't get anything worth watching beyond the networks, and those you can probably get over the air for free.

Sorry to disappoint you, but Leno is back to #1 in late night, and has been every week since taking over again as host of The Tonight Show.

So much for the Conan/Letterman fans who predicted that Leno would get stomped by Letterman when coming back. In fact, Letterman is now in danger of losing second place to Nightline, which he is currently tied with in terms of overall viewers.
 
I really wish Conan would have gotten a proper chance at the Tonight Show with primetime lead-ins and everything. The only reason Jay is back in first place is because he has shows like Law and Order leading him in again.
