Welcome to the Toys R Us clearance thread! Like all stores, Toys R Us also has clearance games-- and they often drop numberous times, such as going down to 19.98, 9.98, 5.00, and even as low as 3.00. There doesn't appear to be a set rhythm to when these drops occur, or how many of them will occur. Also, be aware that the games may not have their prices correctly marked-- generally, all TRUs will have the same pricing (there will always be exceptions) so do not let the price tag dissaude you from at least checking to see if it's at the price that it's been reported here.

Games, when possible, will have their SKU number posted. Please post any SKU numbers you have that aren't already in the list!

Also, some stores will be able to give you a price adjustment if your clearance game(s) drop-- if not, you can always try to return and rebuy the game(s).

Dante's Inferno is a decent God of War clone while Crackdown 2 is well worth the sub $10 price. Buy a couple and give to friends for maximum co-op fun effect.

I assume it's not possible to return and rebuy tomorrow? Would save me a couple bucks but if the customer service folk are going to give me problems, I might as well spare myself the headache.

In some cases, the price is not reflected till the cashier press total in the keyboard. Similar thing happened with EA Sports Active 2 a few months ago. Just scanning it (cashier/price-checker) showed the regular price, but pressing total brought it down to like $20.

Guess we'll know for sure at some point today or tomorrow. :bouncy:

Last time there was 30% off, 2 or 3 weeks ago when I took games to the price checker it showed the discounted price so maybe it is regional or YMMV?

Worked fine for me at two locations in San Diego this morning. Are you sure you scanned an actual clearance game?

Unless something has changed in the week I've been off, or different price checkers work differently, the price checkers out on the floor for customer use should show sale prices.

But as I said "in some cases" (like EA Active 2) not always, plus as others have said the extra 30% is in fact working, at least in the games they tried. :bouncy:

So, maybe that one game was one of those "cases", or just wasn't part of the extra 30%. The only option would be to take that game and have it scanned/total with a cashier just in case.
 
To clear up the confusion.

There were signage everywhere.
THERE is an additional 30% off all clearance and accessories (ending with a 8 or 0).....BUT the cash registers and the price checkers were not up to date.
The employee even said that something was wrong and manually subtracted an additional 30%.
 
I went back to TRU, 1 showed $6.99 at the price checker most did not show the 30% and showed $9.98. I asked an employee and he scanned and totaled rockband 3 Wii and it was $9.98. The manager manually adjusted the games I bought. I'm not sure why most games at the TRU I went to were not automatically taking the 30% off since it sounds like no one else had a problem.

There is a problem with their system. at my local tru, the clerk and i tested a few games and some of them worked while others did not. it seemed most of the newly clearanced items were not ringing up with the 30% off, but the other stuff that has been on clearance forever worked.
 
TRU was very confusing today. There were the 30% off signs. There are also a bunch of Kinect games that say they are 4.99, but then a bigger sign says that they are 4.99 if you buy a kinect. Nobody working their knew if I needed to buy just a kinect sensor bar or the whole xbox plus kinect combo package. Also nobody knew if you got 1 kinect game for 5, or if you could get all of the (listed) kinect games for 5. I needed to be somewhere, so I figured I'd go back Monday night and sort it out.
 
Check your receipt, the clearance games are not automatically subtracted 30%. What worst about my TRU is that the Cashier claim the the 9.98 clearance price was the sale price. So no games for me. Stupid TRU employee.

That explains it then, hopefully they will get it corrected before the 30% off ends.

Did you have to bring in the games or did you just have to show the receipt to get credited?

Yea I just had to explain to the person "Look, it says "anything ending in an 8 or a 0. These three games ended in an 8 or a 0"

Took five people to figure it out. I had to point out the flyer was hanging right f'n there in the game section. Then they argued that Crackdown 2 didn't count because the tag I used to get it said 29.99, despite the fact it rang up for 9.98. Ugh.

Got Crackdown 2 for 360 and Nier and Prince of Persia FS for the PS3. Heading back tomorrow.

I brought in the games with me because I had them sitting in my car overnight. They were super chill about the whole process, but of course, YMMV.

if yes.. how do you find their clearance games? its been a while since ive been in TRU, but i seem to recall almost nothign is marked right in there. Stuffs just kinda strewn about. I have to have the cashier scan like everything to check the price
 
Went into TRU today, picked up PS3 Nier for $10. They also had God of War Ghost of Sparta for the PSP for $10 as well.

Yes.

"if yes.. how do you find their clearance games?" They are usually in the bins, the carousels, or the shelves. Any games you can actually touch are 19.99 or less. Or you can read a few pages back and get an idea of what is on clearance.

Both games are $7 because both games are on clearance.
 
Anyone know how long the 30% off is running? I had acl/mcl repair surgery, but I'm getting to the point of getting a little mobile again and I hope this is still going on when I do in a couple days.
