Welcome to the Toys R Us clearance thread! Like all stores, Toys R Us also has clearance games-- and they often drop numberous times, such as going down to 19.98, 9.98, 5.00, and even as low as 3.00. There doesn't appear to be a set rhythm to when these drops occur, or how many of them will occur. Also, be aware that the games may not have their prices correctly marked-- generally, all TRUs will have the same pricing (there will always be exceptions) so do not let the price tag dissaude you from at least checking to see if it's at the price that it's been reported here.

Games, when possible, will have their SKU number posted. Please post any SKU numbers you have that aren't already in the list!

Also, some stores will be able to give you a price adjustment if your clearance game(s) drop-- if not, you can always try to return and rebuy the game(s).

There's like 5 or 6 more copies of Uncharted at the TRU in Middle Village, NY. So glad I waited to buy this one, the guy who scanned it thought something was wrong.
 
So.. I've been calling every TRU in my area and every one of them said they didn't have the GHWT bundle. One of the stores said they would get some on Monday.. but how long is this deal going to last? This really irritates me. I wouldn't be so upset if they would just give me free shipping on my online order.

For a while it wasn't even MY gas. An ex gf who I was still friendly with was unemployed at the time and we were going all around the tri-state(NY/NJ/PA) area looking for deals that I saw on CAG.;) We originally intended on opening up a flea market stand or other retail endeavor once we got enough stock.

I provided the cash for the stock, she provided the gas and vehicle and we were supposed to split any profits.

However I soon realized most of the stuff we were trying to grab was only worth what we were buying it for.:cry:

So since then I've scaled back buying a lot of anything and she's gone back to a normal job.

But it was fun while it lasted.

Yea, I was in WI on business and when I am after work bored I check out the local stores for deals.
 
I called b/c I didnt want to drive all the way to the nearest store ... they said uncharted was still in their cases not in clearance ... does that mean anything, is everyone picking up uncharted in the case still? ... I asked if he scanned it and he basically hung up.

To answer your question though, you're relying on the employees to know what they're talking about. There are plenty of clearance games behind the glass in my TRU. Yakuza 3 is a good example.

I'm almost positive that it was reduced in price to a 0 or 8 price. Maybe I'm imagining this. Now you guys have me second guessing myself.

Don't know if its accurate or not, but my TRU has Yakuza 3 priced at 34.98.

Prices are universal. If somebody reported it here it's 99.9% likely it will work for you.

Thanks to everyone who replied .. yes, it comes up $6 despite being in the case under a $29.99 tag. Also, I got the second copy for 40% off, so that is working on clearance. 2 copies for $10.

They both have the same UPC, so both games should be the $6. Although finding the non-GH version isnt as easy to find thus only the GH version is being reported for the $6.

Thanks for the heads up! Also thanks to everyone who mentioned the game being on clearance.

Picked up a copy today at the San Rafael, CA store. There is one copy left, in the back with all the games under $19.99.

The store also has 3 big bins clearly marked Clearance before you enter the R-Zone. Couldn't remember all the titles but Dark Void (PS3- $17.98), Bionic Commando (PS3- $8.98) were amongst the many.
 
Weren't Saboteur and Mirror's Edge clearanced? I thought I saw them in the other thread but a recent price hasn't been confirmed.

Saw both of those today. I know Saboteur was in the $14-$18 range, but I don't remember what Mirror's Edge was. It was definitely below $20. Already own both so I wasn't interested.

I did pick up Red Faction and Fallout 3 for ~$10 with the promotion. Wanted a $6 copy of Wet but they couldn't find a copy even though the display box was on the shelf.

Thanks for the heads up on Uncharted guys. Scored one in that ugly GH red box. They had The Saboteur, 3d Dot Heroes, Bayonetta, Lair, Yakuza 3 as well but the clerks were too busy to price check and I was pressed for time. Anyone know the prices for these?

I ask because that same TRU had a resealed copy of Way Of The Samurai 3 for $22.89 today and if I could find something else I'd want to pick up with it I'd gladly pick it up for under $30.

What made me laugh though was that in the used game section they had the :ps3: version of the AC/DC Rock Band Track Pack for $7.98, which is almost $3 over it's current MSRP most everywhere.:roll:

Almost all of the used games at my local TRU are brand new with Y folds and on the 360 games, security seals. It almost looks like they converted some new games to used. I agree about the pricing, many of the "used" prices are cheaper than new games. Like some Singstar PS2 game was $22.xx when it was on clearance last year for $3.00.

They won't work. The used games have their own category and are not included in any of the regular video game categories. The prices are also set by Gamers Factory, not TRU.

The used games will be on sale during this week's 2 day sale (11/19-11/20) Buy 1 Get 1 50% off.

And on the other end of the spectrum, I was looking through the used Xbox 360 games and I found a couple with Hollywood Video artwork/covers !

It may have been $8.98. Either way it was definitely below $10 because I wouldn't have considered it if it wasn't.

I noticed that too, as there were A LOT of seemingly factory sealed games in the 'used' game bin. Then again when I did some trades to TRU a while back I brought in sealed stuff and they had no issues taking it.

Dammit. Thanks for the answer though, prim. I wonder if the gift card and B1G1 40% off deal are going to glitch and work together on Tuesday when Assassin's Creed Brotherhood comes out cuz I think they have that buy two games and get a $40 gc or something dealie. That would be sick if they did, since it'd be like getting the second game for almost 'free' after 40% off and gc.

I traded in a bunch from the $4 and $5 sales that HWV used to have and I imagine quite a few others did as well, since you could see what values these games were getting and ONLY buy the ones getting a decent bump over what you paid.
 
How many years has it been since we've had one of those great TRU $9.98 sales where they slash a quarter of their inventory down to $9.98?
 
I think the last major sale was December 2005. I remember on top of the $9.98 games you got a free PS2 or XBox Star Wars controller with the purchase of any game.

I really miss the green tag sale more than anything. It was so much fun when all green tag items were 90% off and you had to go and randomly scan games to find games for $1.00 - $5.00 that weren't tagged and then there were the older PSX, N64 and Dreamcast games as low as $0.70.

Oh yeah I remember this sale very well. Ended up with like 20 of those Star Wars controllers.

I even remember some of the games on that list. There were handfuls of PSP games. At this point PSP was still new enough where a 10$ game was seen as a major steal for the system. No matter what title it was.

Stacks of Twisted Metal 3 for PS1 were at like every store with the green tags :)

Yet somehow, despite all of those dinosaurs (old titles) becoming extinct, the GBA Poker beast has survived til this day at most stores.
 
So I know the whole..dont ever call mentality but I called a TRU to ask if they had PS3 Warhawk with the headset bundle in stock. I'm trying to get a decent headset as cheaply as possible. After sitting on hold for like 20 minutes the guy says they have one and its $19.98. How reliable is that price he quoted me? I only ask because TRU is about a 45 minute drive and I was hoping it might be cheaper.

They are pretty reliable in terms of pricing. Did you ask the guy to scan the item to check the price? I thought those warhawk bundles went down to $9.98.
