Welcome to the Toys R Us clearance thread! Like all stores, Toys R Us also has clearance games-- and they often drop numberous times, such as going down to 19.98, 9.98, 5.00, and even as low as 3.00. There doesn't appear to be a set rhythm to when these drops occur, or how many of them will occur. Also, be aware that the games may not have their prices correctly marked-- generally, all TRUs will have the same pricing (there will always be exceptions) so do not let the price tag dissaude you from at least checking to see if it's at the price that it's been reported here.

Games, when possible, will have their SKU number posted. Please post any SKU numbers you have that aren't already in the list!

Also, some stores will be able to give you a price adjustment if your clearance game(s) drop-- if not, you can always try to return and rebuy the game(s).

You don't have to return and rebuy. Just bring your receipt, game and they'll refund the 30% differences.

And I guess it is a perfect timing for 30% off on clearance titles cuz I needed to use 2 of my 5 dollar off as reward member.

Do you mean the rewards dollars? I don't think those are a promo, they are supposed to be like gift cards, so they should stack.

Although they wouldn't let me buy a PSN or MS points card with the rewards dollars (the computer wouldn't apply it), because those are like a gift card to them? There is an exclusion for gift cards on the printout.
 
Spotted 2 more copies of Call of Duty World at War Wii in the clearance bin at the TRU on Quioccasin off of Parham in Richmond, VA on Thursday 1/27. Should be $9.99 ish before any clearance.

It's a pretty good game for an FPS that requires you to point at the screen the whole damn time.

Also, they marked down Where the Wild Things Are Wii to $9.99 but its on the regular shelf. Underrated and elegant kids game IMHO.
 
Metro 2033 is still 49.98 (or 35 right now with the 30% off).

X360 X-Blades dropped from 19.98 to 9.98 (or 7 right now). Yeah, I know everybody cares about that one!
 
I actually probably would have picked up XBlades with my $4 R US dollars, but I didn't find out about the 30% sale in time and spent it on something else.
 
I had 4 $5 certificates that expired today ...
So check your dates!

Stacked all 4 to buy 360 Plants/Zombies...wanted the DS version...so this is staying sealed for a future swap.
Oh and got the free Lego T-Shirt code that comes free with ANY video game purchase...so do not forget to add this!
 
how the hell do you tell what games are on clearance at TRU i went yesterday to use my $12 in rewards dollars and i was looking for the Dead Space figures which they didn't have so i looked in the games section for anything i could use the dollars on i found borderlands for PS3 sitting with other games that were marked $20 or below and it had the sign that said 30% off clearance games above them took it to the register and the girl said it didn't qualify i ended up just getting it anyway for $8 out the door which i was fine with, but what games qualify as clearance?

I believe anything ending in .98, thats how I usually tell.

ahhh ok yeah borderlands scanned at exactly $20 my TRU didn't have anything good the only other game i saw that was semi-goodish was Green Day Rock Band maybe i should have scanned it and seen if it qualified :/ is the first Uncharted still clearanced at $10 i read that a few pages back there's one copy still left at the Montebello, CA TRU it's been sitting there for 3 weeks now i would have bought it if i didn't already own it
 
Anything that ends in a 0 is supposed to also qualify but a lot of time with these % off deals, it doesn't work. I bought Monsters vs Aliens for PS3 for $5 and it didn't take the 30% off. There were no signs up so I didn't see how I could argue that it was supposed to qualify (in the past the signs posted said prices ending in a .00 or .98 qualified).

The sign should have specified what constituted as clearance. As other members already noted, usually it's product priced xx.00 or xx.98 where the price ends in an "8" or "0."

Now, at times clearance product won't ring up under the promotion at which point you can (and should) dispute it. It may just be screw up in the system but should still apply, just don't be an a-hole about it.
 
Slightly OT, but I figured this is the best place ask.

My $50 gift card from Black Ops expires this month. If I buy a game with it , can I use that game to exchange for a 4000 point card? I can't get the card directly, since it's a gift card to them.
 
Nothing was marked at my TRU as usual, but there were a several promos going on. I am not sure if this is still the case.

Basically the "Lego hero packs" were ringing up free with ANY video game purchase. (I think this ended yesterday).


My internet was out from 5PM yesterday until a hour ago, so some of this stuff may be dead.
 
Used $14 worth of certificates to get 2 copies of Phantasy Star Portable at no additional cost, at the Charlotte, NC store.

They were marked $9.98 w/ an additional 30% off each bringing them to about $7 each, which my coupons covered quite nicely(looking at the receipt, I lost out on $.02 w/ the coupons, but I'm not complaining).

Got two of the same games because they didn't have anything that I wanted and the games I chose I feel I can sell or trade later. I just saw that Amazon is giving a $10 trade credit for the game so I might just trade it there.

Are you sure? I can't imagine that any reasonable manager wouldn't let you use your gift card to buy MS points. Could be wrong, but I'd ask to find out for sure.
 
Bought Bayonetta (XBOX 360) on Saturday for $6.99 after 30% clearance discount. Used $8 in TRU Rewards coupons to get it free. Unfortunately I forfeited $1.01 because you don't get any change when using the Rewards bucks and I wasn't thinking.

Assuming we had the same giftcard types, you can just buy a regular non expiring giftcard with it. At least that's what I did with the remaining 10.81 on the one I got from buying Blops.

I have roughly $3.00 that expires today. I have less incentive to transfer that remaining credit than $10.81 due to the cost of buying it online and the distance to buy it at the nearest store.

Better than the 30 off last week.

I grabbed a few copies of Monsters vs. Aliens for PS3 for $5 plus the 50% off one (so 2.50 for the 2nd one)

ALSO I didnt see this posted about yet but it looks like ALL TRUs restocked some clearance games. Monsters vs. Aliens for PS3 was a 5.00 title in the Fall. All of sudden this week all 3 of my TRUs had 3 copies sitting out marked 19.99. However they still ring up 5.00. Weird. Only the PS3 version but I wonder where they got this new stock from. I wanna say this is 100% across the board since all 3 seemed to have 3 copies each when back in the Fall I couldnt find a copy of this at any TRU. Good deal if you have a kid plus its B1G150%

Actually the 30% off was better, since this works out to 25% off.

I noticed a restock on Uncharted for PS3 last week but it is $29.99.

Yes I suppose you are right, alhtough some people posted that it wasnt working on 5.00 games for some reason..

What is the free Lego Hero Pack? On the price scanner it still mentioned this. Please explain :)

It's a box that contains a strategy guide and a youth-sized t-shirt. There's versions for the Lego Batman, Indiana Jones and Star Wars games. My TRU had tons of each. The promotion is/was get one free with any video game purchase. Guess since the price scanner mentioned it, it's still active.
 
Hit up Toys R Us today for the Ash's Pikachu giveaway, and decided to venture to their game case. People think their Kmart is bad, god this place took the cake. About half the glass panels were missing. The Pokemon DS games they had were in their own mini-case as well. They even had copies of Mario Hoops 3 on 3 ($29.99) and Super Princess Peach ($34.99).
Instead of waiting for the cashier to come and ask if I needed help, I was able to get the two DS games I wanted without needing someone to "open" the case (I found out that all they did was reach in as well...).

I was looking for a copy of Phantasy Star Portable for a friend. Yeah... they had about 5 PSP games in their entire section. Only decent game really was Dissidia Final Fantasy for $17.98, and that's only $2 off Amazon's new price and $5 above Amazon's Warehouse's price. Their clearance prices were terrible. I wasn't paying attention but I think the sticker said Sin & Punishment 2 for the Wii was still $44.98.

Oh well. Congrats to everyone whose store is decent. This one was pretty bad, and that's with pretty dismal expectations.

Toys R Us has exclusive reprints for Super Princess Peach, Mario Hoops 3 on 3, and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. They've carried SPP for over a year, and MH and PIT were reissued for this past holiday season. They featured them in one of their Sunday ads.

All of sudden this week all 3 of my TRUs had 3 copies sitting out marked 19.99. However they still ring up 5.00. Weird. Only the PS3 version but I wonder where they got this new stock from. I wanna say this is 100% across the board since all 3 seemed to have 3 copies each when back in the Fall I couldnt find a copy of this at any TRU. I know this reply is from weeks ago but yeah I can also confirm Monsters vs Aliens PS3 went back up to 19.99. It was ringing up 5$ for a couple weeks there.
 
Honestly there hasn't been many markdowns to even talk about of late, they just haven't been doing any...
 
I dont know how many of you have kids, but I just picked up Invizimals for the psp with the camera for $19.99. It was still labeled $39.99, but rang up correctly. Also picked up Lego Harry Potter with the b1g1 50% off.

I think just about all PSP games dropped to $19.99 or lower. Also, UMD PSP movies were $1.99.
 
anyone know that Toy r Us sells used game
there was a clearance section in the back of the video games and it had a bunch of used game. all shovelware crap titles for $7-$15.

was there to get pokemon black and professor layton for the ds sale.
 
TRU has had used games for a while now. Most are crap, but not all. The best ones I've seen are the disc only games that are similar to BBV's prepacks. They all have one item number and sell for one price point, no matter what game is in the case. A few weeks ago these dropped from $9.98 to $9.89. I saw a few decent titles like GTA: Episodes from Liberty City (360) and a couple others I don't remember.

honestly, I don't know, stuff that was clearance went out of clearance and no new drops lately.
