You haven't failed. Best Buy has succeeded....in following their set policy of not allowing both a PM and using a coupon. It's called double dipping usually and it's covered a ton in this thread alone that people should NOT go into BB assuming they will be able to both price match another store/site AND use the respective coupon on the same game.

Picked up what appeared to the last copy of The Witcher 2 and Battlefield 3 in SW Tucson today. Not sure why they were the only ones there. The online stock checker still shows them in stock. Sure wish Battlefield was 360, but I'll take it for $10
Was just there picking up Prototype 2 for $20. I definitely would've grabbed Witcher 2 for $10. Does it definitely ring up for $10? I might have to go back tomorrow and try and get it.
DAMIT !
i just bought this lastnight, with the coupon to make the total $20, i hope i can get it PM tomorrow, and get $10 back.
*sigh* I guess I have to go pick up Witcher tomorrow. This will be like the fourth day in a row I've been to BB.
I feel your pain. I have been there 3 days in a row.

Ha.

I'm there at least 2-3 days a week most of the time. Most of them recognize me to the point where I don't even have to show them my ID when I pick up online orders.
Have your guys magazines came in yet?
Got mine about 4 or 3 days ago in the mail.

Ok, so I'm confused on this Witcher 2 deal for $10 that has been mentioned. How are you getting it for $10? I don't see a coupon in the mag and it's listed for $40 on the website. Is this for PC or Xbox 360? A little more info would be appreciated as I would really jump on this for $10. Thanks.

Edit here too: Saw the other thread as well. Looks like I'll be picking up a copy tomorrow.

Edit: Nevermind saw the other thread......bonehead
 I've only ever gone in store to ask if I could use the coupons outta the in-store copy if my copy of the magazine was late. This is just trying to take advantage of the system in another way similar to the people who copied the coupons or were using that keyring app months ago.:whistle2:#

It's one thing if your mag is late, but if you're just wanting more copies of the coupons then BUY A SPARE MAG. Don't be such a cheap ass scammer.
this begs the question if best buy truly cares about coupon fraud cant us digital people reprint our emailed coupons over and over and over again? i mean sure it says one time use on them....but is it really one time use?

no, it's a unique barcode and says one time use for shits and giggles.

Actually I think the digital subscribers are one time use codes, just like those GS PUR rewards coupons usually are.
He used 2 $10 codes that he got previously. And he just reported the "out the pocket" price.

A type of calculation that I personally never do. Because it leads to hotheaded overspending. When you order, you think "oh it's okay I get $10 for ordering $50", then when you buy you think "oh it's okay I got this GC to use".
Hotheaded OVERSPENDING. Ok, if I had planned to buy Hunger Games, Walking Dead Season 2, and Sleeping Dogs MONTHS AGO why would I not do online order and in store pickup (2 separate orders) to get the coupons.

I would have bought these anyway so it wasn't as if I thought, HMMM, I get free $10, now I will buy.
If that was my thinking, then yeah, hot headed overspending. But it was not.

And once Bethesda said they were having issues getting the DLC on PS3 I wanted to get the 360 version but was in no hurry. I saw the deal with the @gamer coupon and used my 2 coupons and it was $12. Gotta love the OVER spending I did there. I should have went to gamestop and bought it used for $54.99. Would have made more sense.

no hes right...its very easy to go in buy something and see for instance a B2G1 sale then suddenly you want to get the best deal and "save" money by in fact overspending to get said deal. this is why these deals work. advertisers and companies are not stupid. they make money off of these deals solely because of this...well maybe not JUSt because of this but this is one reason. people see sale and think savings....no savings is really spending nothing and buying only what you need when its on sale...savings are not buying sale items and in terms any CAG knows adding to the backlog of death. we here at CAG and SD are addicts.

the concept is you still spent money....do you have a backlog? should you saving or investing instead? is that money better spent elsewhere? if it falls under any of these categories you have overspent even if you overspent 12 dollars instead of 54.99...like did i need witcher 2(when will i even play it i have no idea again backlog)? no but it was on sale i bought it i overspent by 10 dollars. sure not as bad as 50 but its still and overspending.

sort of how i traded in a bunch of games and thus paid nothing for the new game....well no you didnt. you paid the cost of what you traded in minus what you got for it. in short if i were to buy 2 games at 60 dollars...trade to gamestop for 30 each. buy a new game at 60 dollars....i didnt pay nothing for that new game....i am still out 60 dollars there was just no immediate pain of money leaving the wallet. except for the apparent master flippers that can flip a 2 dollar game into a 20 dollar profit or people like my sister that can buy a 100 dollar dress for 1 dollar....seriously she is the master CAG(minus the games) she is the queen. and that example is a real life one one of like 14534534 examples. you do not come out ahead unless you have that level of mastery.

It's in the Members Reward Zone Unlock online account, under Gamer's Club Benefits. You will need to click "Claim it" online and then show the Best Buy checkout person your Reward Zone card for scanning before ringing up the game.

i hope i can get my $10 PM=REFUND, my BB is normaly pretty good on PM's.

yes. i bought witcher 2 for $20 yesterday and the coupon rang up automatically at checkout. i went back for a price match today but the manager could not get the $10 back because the coupon can only be used once. instead, i was allowed pick something out of the store and was given a $10 discount on that item.

official best buy policy states they will price adjust any item within 30 days for regular members and 60 for silver members...THEIR OFFICIAL RULES AND POLICY. realistically speaking you can make them do it and threaten to call cooperate if they dont....its a matter whether they know how to or not.

but try and be nice first there is likely at least one or two people in the store that can do it. worst case try and get whoevers helping you to call their boss or someone that knows more. cause they kind of have to do it.

let me stress....BE NICE...if you are nice to a customer service clerk they will love you forever(they deal with people that they want to kill on a daily basis and this is no exaggeration)....so dont play the im an ass card except as a complete last resort.

Same here. Two of the store employees have my phone number memorized (reward zone) because I am there so much..

Picked up the last copy of :ps3: Prototype 2 Collector's Edition for $30 after coupon. Traded in my regular :ps3: copy to Gamestop for $24 after the 50% bonus they're running right now. "Six Dollars" to upgrade to a collector's edition works for me.

No you cannot MAKE them do it. Their policy states they will match the sale price. The coupon is applied AFTER matching the sale price. The coupon is one time use. Thus you can either choose the new sale price now (sans coupon) or the old price with the coupon.

BBY mods have made this blatantly clear as their could be a lot of issues with allowing both. Mainly overlapping offers.

Again PMing the price IS allowed, but the coupon should not be applied after the PM per their policy. But it never hurts to ask. Many of my local stores are fine with it and will work with me to get it done.

picked up the kid icarus sell today
but I went to use my Battlefield 3 coupon
the limited edition with the back to karkand was 29.99
standard was 39.99
grabbed the limited edition and it rang up fine and got the game for free
waiting for prototype 2 and mass effect 3 to hopefully go on sale to 9.99 before coupons run out

OK I have some updates:

VISA prepaid cards are in Illinois as well as 'pitch in cards'. They have new displays by the door when you walk in with both of them in most stores. Each store should have about 20 pitch in cards and about 100 or so VISA cards.
I tried to scan the pitch in card, but it doesn't scan in the register and there is no sku on it.

Picked up Prototype 2 and Max Payne, and preordered RE6. My buddy is a manager over in the TV section, he told me Amazon was going to buy Best Buy. I don't know about that, but everything else he's told me has been true lol
when is Lollipop Chainsaw supposed to be $29.99?
It's going to be a daily sale on September 12th. It will sell out 2 minutes after posting. People are goin to try to PM in store and use the coupon then when they get denied a couple people will go berzerk. They'll start tipping over all the gaming shelves, screaming obscenities and throw a tantrum.

Eventually a police officer will have to escort them out and when the person resists he'll get tazed. To which he'll yell out "Don't Taze me bro". Of course this will all be caught on cell phone coverage. It will soon become an Internet viral video about the evils of BBY.

The new French BBY CEO will come out to comment on this and when he accidently let's a phrase like "stupid Americans" slip it will spark a nationwide controversy.

American leaders will be pressured by the public to speak up against this Frenchman. Which turns into a political nightmare as countries start taking sides.

Eventually this will lead to WW3

Damn...now Im really sketched out about the trading a game back in thing. Back in July, I traded in Twisted Metal for 33 when I bought it for 20. I never thought It would merit a ban...

While it does seem a little far fetched, i always why amazon didnt buy BB. It would almost be like Amazon local - instead of being mocked as Amazons showroom, why not actually be Amazons showroom. It would bring Amazon closer to their goal of having same day delivery/service for many areas. Still, seems like a long shot, but who knows....

Also, i just got my first mag in the mail finally. Was worried for a bit there....

You don't need to scan the pitch in card. You activate it @ home, online.

This got thrown around because Amazon is/was slated to make B&M stores because of how laws are seeming to change towards Internet only stores. That and BBY/WM are intruding on their territory and they want to try to do the opposite

I certainly hope not, especially with Amazon's recent track record for 'deals' as far as gaming goes. Shovelware and uber limited quantities of one hot title does not a great sale make imo.

Not to mention I predict that if they did buy BB, they'd retrain the employees to shill for that overpriced Amazon Prime bs, which would be useless if they kept all the BB stores with so many states trying to force Amazon to collect sales tax anyway. Just go to the store as usual and buy yer shit.;)

As for me, I picked up :ps3:Prototype 2 for $20 with the @Gamer coupon and tried for one of the "free" after coupon Mac games(Rage Campaign Edition), which came up $29.99 at the register, thus making it $15 afterward.

I kept telling the newbie cashier I didn't want it cuz a friend told me it should've been on clearance, but by that time she had already scribbled over the UPC barcode on it and chucked it. I told her not to worry about it cuz I only know one person with a Mac and he was the one that told me it should've been cheaper. Wasted coupon, but not like I was going to play the game. I'd probably just have offered it up for $5 shipped here or something.

Either way, they PM'd the 2/$60 dealier from TRU for me and I picked up :ps3:Sleeping Dogs(which has a 348MB update out already that I'm downloading now:bomb:) and :ps3:Darksiders II with that deal. All three games out the door for around $85 and I STILL have about $3 something on my trade-in card and my $5 RZ certificate from doing trades and what not to blow on whatever.:D Now to beat DS II, SD and Prototype 2 quickly enough to take advantage of the 100% trade in and recoup most of the credit I spent on them.

Here's hoping to picking up Lollipop Chainsaw for $10 by the end of the month.
$20 is my entry point for that one, but $10 would be sweet
In for Prototype and BF3 though

edit: Looks my BBY is OOS of BF3 :(

Picked up a copy of Battlefield 3 after using trade in credit. It stated online there was none but went in and there were 2 copies left, took one. This was in NYC 86th and Lexington for those who are interested.
So how is the BF3 online community doing? Was wondering before opening the game
Should be bustling, especially with new DLC releasing this week

I just picked up the Prototype 2 collectors edition with steel case and poster for $ 31.49 at my local bestbuy using the $30 off coupon. Also picked up ME3 CE for 30 using 20 off coupon.
wat
With the lack of 'omg insane' deals that I'd bother with on Amazon over the last year or so it would be a huge waste of $80(real cash btw, they won't allow you to use credit that's on your account from trade-ins:roll: or I might've considered it;)). A few years ago it might've been a decent investment, but there's really no games I see myself having a desire to play RIGHT NOW that I can't just wait to hit clearance and grab then.
wat
I agree with IATCG about Amazon Prime. Most stuff I buy on Amazon is over $25 for FS. For the very, very, very occasional time when the order is less than $25, I can always find fillers like cereal. And I honestly don't understand the mentality of "I need to play this game now", who doesn't have at least a 10+ backlog on CAG? So what's the point in Prime?

I guess if the only thing you're getting on Amazon are games, the value of Prime may not be there so much. If you buy way more stuff, like I do, it's a great service.

yea, but prime applies to more than just games.

If you had amazon prime before FREE from being a student or mom, you can renew amazon prime for $39 a year and it'll include all of the full benefits which helps out people like myself. Amazon Prime Instant Video is a big plus along with 2 day shipping..that itself is worth the $ I say.
