I don't see myself coming here very often since Walmart is 20 minutes away from me but maybe the right TIV would give me a reason to go.

I didn't think TRU was discussed that much here. Gamers Factory who handled the trades went out of business. Some of the trade in values they and were awesome like $12.25 for Steel Diver when it was $5 at Best Buy. They also didn't advertise it well and almost every time I went to trade games at TRU the person at customer service had no idea how to process the trade.

If Mario Kart DS didn't have the save file tied to the cartridge, I would get rid of it for $23 and rebut it later
Duke Nukem was epic. Forget the calculation ATM, but things went downhill fast after that.

Anyone taking bets on the first one banned from Walmart trade-ins? I'm curious what the odds are.
I think the better bet is how many people going to be in line at 8am next Wednesday at electronic desk to take advantage? And the odds the person working that day going to be huh we don't do trade ins

Half the employees at mine will wonder what you're talking about when you say video game.... We have an eclectic group of 50+ year olds and "cellular phone specialists" that won't wander over to the game case to even let someone into it. For example the end cap case that typically has new releases in it has GTA V as the newest release in the case. I asked for a week about Garden Warfare and Thief for Xbox One before getting someone to pull one from the back. Took convincing that it wasn't being held for a later release date. As clueless as most of these people are I do see room for exploiting any sort of trade in glitches there may be. Still liking some of the TIV I'm seeing. Been trying to sell one of my Skyward Sword sealed on here for awhile but for the TIV I may let one go at Walmart.

Well this is gonna be such a pleasant surprise come next Wednesday... just more work I'm gonna have to do since my crew is useless!

I already know all the associates in my area are just gonna play deaf, dumb, and stupid, like they do with everything in electronics, and just pass the buck to either Me or the CSMs, whom will either have no clue what to do or just pass it right back to me!

I can't even apologize for how the associates act in electronics because they just don't care at all.

PSN Cards, XBL Cards, and Nintendo Cards don't fall under Gift Cards so you can get them with any WM Gift Cards. Only cards like those AMEX, Discover, Etc. Etc. are considered Gift Cards (the ones by the Checkout lanes)

mmm, Pokemon X and Y go for $26 each. Not bad at all.

Ocarina of Time as well. Might trade them in there.

Really wanna know if there is a limit for trade-ins...would be nice to unload my shovelware on them in one sitting but, I guess going there every few days won't be so bad either. Not a far drive for me. Does GameStop also have a trade-in limit? I'm just curious.

I'm pretty worried about how this will even work though. As everyone's saying, the electronic employees I've talked with are so clueless....I once asked a sales associate to open the case & check the price of an epic Mickey paintbrush controller and instead she looked for the game. Specifically said controller, even pointed to it, and still she pulled out the game until I literally went up next to the glass & said "It's that paintbrush thing right there on the bottom next to the consoles". =_= She looked at me like I was crazy.

I've read everywhere I could about the policy of Walmart's CExchange program. Even checked out Cexchange.com and there is nothing that mentions a limit on the number of video games you can trade in.

I'd say that next best thing would be to contact CExchange directly (as Walmart never knows anything) and ask a representative about their policy.

^what about Red Lobsters gift cards??
Never had that Scenario occur. I've seen WM Gift Cards used for iPads, Contract Phones, Laptops, Tablets, PSN Cards, Minecraft Cards, but nothing from a restaurant, movie gift cards, or the such. Glad those type of Gift Cards are left up front away from the Electronics Dept.

A lot of the cheap DS games from GS have decent values at WM.  Problem is finding them and also them having the case.

Also surprisingly some sports games are good TIV.

Anyone know how to check mass values?

Did a few spot checks on games I have laying around:

uncharted 3.24

motorstorm 1.xx

Sony Playstation 3 Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition 5.76

Microsoft Xbox 360 Crysis 2 $3.34

Nintendo Wii Ben 10: Alien Force 2.03

Only certain popular games will score more, PS3 version of a multiplatform title score higher due to blu-ray apparently, and next gen titles score better than what some GS award.

Here's the issues WM has to overcome:

No cash- lots of GS's trades come from people wanting cash, one of the reasons Target, BB, and TRU trade programs didn't take off. Argument can be made that WM GC is as good as cash, but isn't a Target one as well? Lots of those cash trades are for gas money (yes GS has Shell GC but not all areas have Shell stations and many cash trades are under $25.)

Actually selling the games they take in- You have to make money by selling the games taken in. How many times has the used price of a game at BB been more than the new cost? How about the selection of used games at TRU or Target? Also no rewards program at Walmart.

Condition of the games- GS will take any game in as long as it's not cracked. How will WM handle that? Will they have a return policy, unlike their current used game sales where there's no returns? GS's return policy is one of the best for used games (7 day satisfaction, 30 days defective.)

Pricing the TIV correctly- What happens if Walmart gives stupid amounts of credit for games they won't be able to resell to profit from? What if GS values are greater, as they generally are than BB's outside of BB's 100% bonus weeks?

Employee education- Yeah there's lots of bad GS locations, but even the bad GS's are generally better than Walmart. I've tried to buy stuff at WM in Electronics and just get blank stares. Also what about games w/o serial numbers or games with special serial numbers that are a retailer exclusive like the Target exclusive Square Enix Steelbook games? With as few staffers as WM puts in Electronics, can you imagine the holdups when trades are introduced?

Just some things to think about before all of CAG declares GS dead.
Walmart is the biggest retailer making hand over fist cash and you just have them a primer on how to run this? I assume they've thought of these things, if not they will learn when loopholes get exploited.

I would never bother trading something in at a store like Walmart or Target in which I have to walk to the back of the store to do so. Then if I don't like the deal or get rejected I have to walk out with my item and face the questions of the store's junior detectives.

Some of the values aren't too shabby, actually. Quite a few even a higher than BBY and Gamestop.

Stop acting so damn sketchy then.

Please allow this to work on prepaid visas. Even if not oh well. This should be fun the employees I've seen at walmart gaming sections have no clue what is going on.

Any really good values I'm missing? Best I saw was $30.80 for ps3 Ghosts when you can get it @ Target for cheap

all i know is there is still a bin at my local walmart with about 25-30 copies of those burger king xbox 360 games, so if they screwed it up that bad the first time....
