What was the last CD you bought? - The Sequel
today i bought: "Twin cinema" by the new pornographers
I almost got that, but then I grabbed the superbit Das Boot instead. Maybe next week ...
I love disc 1 - disc 2 isn't nearly as good but I still like it.
I made myself listen to both again yesterday. I remain unimpressed. Some friends had really built this album up to me. Maybe I was expecting too much.
Gorillaz - Demon Days
I love that album.

The most recent album I bought was Papa Roach - Getting Away With Murder. I use to stand fimly against them, but "Scars" grew on me and overall the album is pretty good.

Ozzfest 2005 Summer Sampler

Every year there's a free sampler distributed at Ozzfest featuring bands that played on the tour (and some that didn't). I didn't go to Ozzfest this year (it's always too far), but a friend of mine always goes and gets an extra sampler for me.

Downloaded 10 Sparks albums I was missing from my collection.

Sparks - Propaganda
Sparks - Indiscreet
Sparks - No. 1 In Heaven
Sparks - Li'l Beethoven
Sparks - Plagiarism
Sparks - Interior Design
Sparks - In Outer Space
Sparks - Gratuitous Sax & Senseless Violins
Sparks - Terminal Jive
Sparks - Pulling Rabbits Out of a Hat

Took me 4 years to find about 2 or 3 people sharing and Sparks shit.

I haven't bought too many cds lately... been spending my money on anime and tv show box sets. Not a lot out that I want anyways. The last CDs I bought were the Transplants - Haunted Cities and Dropkick Murphys - Warriors Code. I think I may look for some of the Nekromatix CDs next, all I have is Dead Girls Don't Cry.

I just picked up:
Emery - The Question
Radiohead - Hail to the Theif
NIN - With Teeth
From Autumn To Ashes - Abandon Your Friends
From Autumn To Ashes - Too Bad You're Beautiful
Finch - Say Hello To Sunshine
Letter Kills - The Bridge
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fever To Tell

That's alot to pick up at one time. I usually get them one at a time, and even then I have trouble getting around to listening to everything. I tend to go for the sure thing when I need something to listen to.

yeah, I know. I probably won't give each album the attention it deserves. However, I listen to music for about 15 hours a day and I had been getting REALLY bored with the music on my iPod lately. I needed some fresh blood. :D

Treat yourself to a cd by Demented are Go! instead; Nekromantix are good, but there are so many better psychobilly bands out there, including Demented, Guana Batz, Batmobile, Frantic Flintstones, Long Tall Texans, Mad Sin (who are just kinda o.k.), and of course, The Meteors.

Nothing against Nekromantix, but the above are, IMO, far better.

I never EVER buy cds. Mostly because I wait until I'm on campus and I can DC++ anything I really need. However, the other day... for the first time in years... I caved.

I bought Retaliation, Dane Cook's new comedy CD. And I haven't looked back. Put it on my ipod, listen to it in the car, and everywhere i go... i love it.
An opening band's cd from last night's Dredg show - Communique: Poison Arrows. Pretty damn good.
How was the show?
I love that album.

That album is great.

Pretty good. The mix could have been better (the guitar was a bit high) but that's a common problem at the place it was at. The only time I've heard a perfect mix there is *shock* The Decemberists. But definitely worth going. And I got a new band to like out of the deal :D

Blur - The Best Of

I wanted to get "Parklife", but they didn't have it. I'll check somewhere else tomorrow...

Yesterday:

Coheed and Cambria - Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV
Lorene Drive - Romantic Wealth

Friday:
Paramore - All We Know is Falling
Circa Survive - Juturna

Tuesday 13th:
Juliana Theory - Deadbeat Sweetheartbeat

Recently sold:
Cold - Whatever the hell the new one was, it wasn't very good
Disturbed's second cd
A Perfect Circle's second cd
like seven other crap I didn't want anymore

Local stores are pissing me off, not carrying Idlewilds new cd, I'm going to have to order it I guess.

Ted Leo/Pharmacists - The Tyranny of Distance
Heatmiser - Mic City Sons
Shellac - At Action Park
Neil Young - On the Beach

nine inch nails - with_teeth
Death From Above 1979 - You're A Woman, I'm A Machine
Ted Leo/Pharmacists - The Tyranny of Distance
Heatmiser - Mic City Sons
Shellac - At Action Park
Neil Young - On the Beach
That's a nice list!! :D

As for me:

Azure Ray - Burn & Shiver
Curtis Mayfield - Never Say You Can't Survive/Do it All Night
Marvin Gaye - Live at the London Palladium
Otis Redding - Dictionary of Soul
Neko Case - The Tigers Have Spoken
Arcade Fire - Funeral
AC Newman - The Slow Wonder
Josh Rouse - Home
Josh Rouse - Under Cold Blue Stars
Grant Lee Phillips - Mobilize
Andrew Bird & The Mysterious Production of Eggs
DEath Cab for Cutie - Plans
The Forecast - Late Night Conversations
Criteria - When We Break
Of Montreal - The Bird WHo COntinues to Eat the Rabbit's Flower
The Kills - No Wow
Bettie Serveert - Attagirl
Stephen Malkmus - Face the Truth
Mayday - Bushido Karaoke
Feist - Let it Die
The Posies - Every Kind of Light

As excited as I have been about the previous Idlewild records....this new one is, well...I dunno, just doesn't seem to do it for me. The production is VERY slick, and kind of rounds off the raw edge that made them rock. Don't get me wrong, it's not terrible...but it's no 100 broken windows or remote part...

That's not good to hear. I'll probably still pick it up, but that is disappointing. 100 broken windows is damn good!

Also, great choice with the Posies. One of my favorite bands, it's good to see them in action again. I plan on going to check em out in Cleveland on the 6th for the first time in years! The new disc is just 50/50 imo, but when it hits, it hits. If you're into power pop and stuff like that, check out the new Oranger record - New Comes and Goes. Not only are they opening for the Posies, they feature an ex-posies drummer, and totally rock out. Snappy crunchy guitars....kinda Superdraggish at times. Rather rocking if I say so myself!
311-Don't Tread On Me. I am a huge fan of 311, but this one sucked to no end.
I agree, it was too mellow and Jamaican or something. I listened to it once.

NIN - Downward Spiral Dual Disc
