God damn their prices are as far behind as their hardware, first party games and well....everything else about nintendo.

You can buy the retail versions for less than half that.

There are no new deals this week.

The new releases:

Ava and Avior Save the Earth - $9.99

LEGO The Hobbit - $49.99

Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 - GBA - $7.99

NES Remix 2 is out tomorrow at 9 AM PT/12 PM ET and Child of Light is out on 4/29. It looks like if you own both NES Remix games, you'll unlock a Championship mode.

Thoughts on the announced Mario Kart bundle? I have to say I didn't believe it would happen (not sure why everyone was so confident). I do wish it was a little cheaper, though...maybe 259-79. I guess with the combined free game promotion it works out pretty decently, though I don't need yet another wiimote or have any interest in that retarded wheel. So I may go with the refurbished 200 console and buy MK separately. 260 + free game. And goddamn at the Nintendo online store being shut down until the 9th! lol

It's nice to see another bundle, but I'm still glad that I jumped on the $230 Windwaker bundle that included W101 and Ninja Gaiden 3 awhile back.

Splinter Cell Blacklist is now $30 on wii u. (will happen on Monday)

New games are-

Mach Rider(wii u virtual console)

Abyss($2)

Stick it to the Man!($10)

I am only surprised that they waited so damn late to announce it. I thought it was coming at first, but after we didn't even get rumors I figured they must be holding off until xmas or something.

It looks like there are no new deals once again.

Mach Rider - NES - $4.99

Blok Drop U - $1.49 - 25% Off - Ends 6/4

My Style Studio: Hair Salon - $3.99 - 20% Off - Ends 7/31

Trine 2: Director's Cut - $9.99 - 50% Off - Ends 5/26

They extended the Trine 2 sale, if you're wondering why it's on the list again.

New releases:

Fit Music - $14.90

Swords & Soldiers - $2.99

Squids Odyssey - $14.99

Street Fighter Alpha 2 - SNES - $7.99

Squids Odyssey looks interesting as a strategy RPG or something like that, which they call "action strategy meets RPG gameplay" in the description.

Edit: Okay, so this trailer shows how Squids Odyssey plays since the screenshots don't do it any justice:

I know it hasn't been on a deal, so it's kind of off-topic, but I bought Donkey Kong Country Returns: Tropical Freeze to play with my fiancee.  I am baffled at some of the design decisions and hoping someone can help us enjoy it and figure out what we're doing wrong.

1)  She runs ahead, and I get lost off the screen constantly.  We are on a Wii U where one of the damn controllers has a screen on it.  Why was this allowed?  If anyone falls into the water, they might as well just be dead, because they'll shoot to the bottom and be off-screen anyway.

2)  Donkey Kong is useless, and player one is forced to be Donkey Kong.  Player 2 gets to choose someone else, but in order to switch, you have to quit back to the title screen.

I guess that about covers it.  We are not having fun.  We die a lot, get annoyed at each other because we're never in the same spot on the screen at the same time, and frankly the game does very little to explain itself.  To make matters worse, it controls entirely differently from the original Donkey Kong Country games.

Someone teach us how to play this over-designed, 10GB disappointment of a purchase.  This game must be from a western developer that Miyamoto wasn't watching very closely.  We're going to go back to Super Mario 3D World and get the stars we missed or move on to Rayman Legends if we can't figure out how to make Donkey Kong fun again.  Even if we stopped being OCD about collecting everything, we'd still have issues with Donkey Kong himself sucking and with going off-screen constantly.

It's a tough game but it's a whole lot easier if you play cooperatively and stay in frame at all times. You really have to work together and nobody can get greedy. During intense platforming parts, I just throw Diddy on my back and go for it until we land somewhere stable.

Can't wait till we get Minish Cap on the VC.   :D/

Although when Mario Kart is released after midnight tomorrow, I'm good with the Wii U for a good long while.

The PS4 on the other hand...

Funny. 3 of the 4 games my wife and I play after the kids go to bed. NSMBU being the other. Until Friday anyway.
I wish I could get her into NSMBU, too! :) And yes, of course Mario Kart soon.

That and I wish I could get her to stop charging ahead of me as Dixie when I'm lumbering along as damn Donkey.

She gets to lumber with DK, because she likes to use the Gamepad, which actually makes it easier to play for me. I let her dictate the pace, while I'm jumping around and doing the collecting. She's usually pretty good at noticing potential secrets, too (better than I am, really), so she knows when to slow down and backtrack. Now we just need to play more and get better, so we're not blowing through an entire bunch of balloons on one stupid level.

To go back on topic while staying off-topic, are there any good e-shop games that would be good for couples, along the same lines as the games that have been mentioned?

Let's see. Trine 2, maybe Dungeons and Dragons: Blah-Blah of Mystaria or whatever it's called. I'll be interested to hear some more, too!

Maybe I can trick her into using the gamepad....

She couldn't get into Trine 2 on the PC, because the platforming isn't as refined as it is on the first-party titles. And I just picked up D&D from a group buy, also for PC, so that might be worth a shot. It just seems like anything that's not a first party title isn't getting the job done. Maybe she's just a fangirl.

At least she's honest. My polite partner just pretends to like stuff, and I never know if she does or doesn't (unless it's really obvious she does, like with Mario 3D World).

The cursing and the name-calling gave it away. "I can't get this fuck ing jump right!!" and "put that stupid box there and help me, you a$$" are pretty honest.

Did you guys see this?

https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/472076848382607361/photo/1

Wonder if they're going to release Smash branded GC controllers to go along with it.  I like the Wii U Pro Controller to much to go to something like that though.

Anyone else having issues with Club Nintendo?  I want to register Mario Kart 8 and get my free game.  When I try to log in, it tells me I entered the wrong password (I didn't).  I try again, and it logs me in, but it says I have no "to dos".  Yesterday I got in for a second and it said I was owed a free game and gave me a list to choose from, but then it logged me out.  It is also slow as absolute piss.
