I can't download the Lara Croft game on the WP10 preview.  QR code doesn't work.  I tried to download it via the website but it is still showing my old WP 7 phone only.  How do I add a second WP to my MS account so I can manage the downloads from the website?  Do I need a sim card to do that?

Hitman GO is $0.99 for some reason. Pick it up while you can. It's a cross-buy game too from what I remember.

Also, a new game is out for WP: "What in the World?". However, like other Gametroopers games, it's buggy and crashes all the time. So it's probably not worth getting at the moment.

I'll definitely be getting Hitman GO. Tried to buy it a couple weeks ago, but WP doesn't let you combine account credit with credit card. Glad it didn't let me buy it.

My iPhone 5s screen just cracked a couple days ago and I'm due for an upgrade. I'm torn on if I want to go back to a windows phone or go for an iPhone 6 plus. I do miss getting achievements on my phone and three been like 15-20 games added since my last windows phone a year and a half ago. I'm leaning towards an htc one m8.

I really like my m8.  I got it last August and I've found it to be a really solid phone.  Wish it had more battery life as heavy usage will cause me to need to recharge it before the day is out.  Otherwise, the screen is great, all games run really well on it, everything is really good.  Every so often it I'll find it goes into a reboot loop for some reason.  I'll force it off for a few minutes and turn it back on and then it's fine.  I hear this is a fairly common HTC issue.  Seems like this happens once every three months or so.

I think I'm just getting my old windowsx8 phone repaired instead of buying new. Save like $100 this way. It'll be nice to play some xbl games again.

That's a good idea. I wouldn't recommend buying a high quality Windows Phone until the new Windows 10 phones launch later this year.

Yeah, that's what I was going to say. There should be a w10 flagship phone this fall. I'd wait for that. (and I am; my 1520 screen is cracked, but I'm waiting for a w10 phone)

Wow! New (but stinky) WP game on sale this week. Hope one of you guys was looking forward to buying Carnyvale.
Looks like the last time it was on sale was April 13, 2011, so those of you who've waited 4 years to save $1.50, your patience has finally paid off.

I thought Carnivale stunk, but I guess some people liked it back when it launched.
People also thought skipping stones on a lake was the most entertaining thing ever before they invented....well... anything else. I think I may go throw some rocks in a body of water before I play Carnyvale though.

My 925 bit the dust this morning so I am picking up a replacement. Does nayone have any experience with the 830?

I am curious how the quad core 1200 compares with the dual core 1500 that has been in my 920, 925 and 928.

I got that phone almost a month ago and I can't say anything bad about it. Awesome, beautiful, fast and snappy phone. I sold my iPhone 5s to grab this one, and no regrets at all.

Also I'm using it for xbox games, never enough of dem achievements :D, and to be honest, I was never mobile game player before this one, but Xbox integration and everything feels just right.

No lags, no restarts, no hangs, just smooth as butter. And yes, I would go with Quad Core because its somehow futureproof since Win10 is releasing in a month (or couple of months for mobile platform).

Several Gameloft games got achievement listed uploaded. Waiting for updates now.

Dragon Mania (Has XBL support now)
Age of Sparta
Modern Combat 5
Dungeon Hunter 5

Totally agree. I've only had it for a few days now, but its way better than my 925. Not sure how the slower quad core really stacks against a faster dual in all situations, but superior graphics chip seems to be a big benefit. My main draw was just the expandable memory slot

It supposedly can use a 128gb micro sd which got my attention a while ago as I've been using my old phone ( that I replaced for a reason ) as an mp3 player and as soon as I was going to get a Ipod classic they got rid of them

Worth noting the boost mobile version is $50 at BB regular priced

Game Troopers has a lot more games planned and want to add more achievements to previous titles. They are also offering to publish games for smaller developers (which hopefully means more achievements).

Their games usually have some big problems at launch, but they get a few updates within a couple weeks. I'm hoping smaller developers take advantage of their offer. With all the stolen games on the marketplace now, you need a way to get your game to stand out even if it means shares profit with Game Troopers.

EDIT: Looking at their website, they can also port your game to Windows/Windows Phone. I wonder how much they would charge for that or if they'd just take a percentage of money earned. If i could get achievements for my RPG and have it ported to WP, they could take all the money.

Anyone familiar with No Contract or Prepaid phones? I want another WP8 strictly for Wi-Fi internet and gaming, but the unlocked phones are way too expensive. What's the catch? And why does it say "No Contract", but when you try to buy it it says price is "With a Plan".

No Contract and Pre Paid are completely different things.

--

No contract implies you are buying the phone without signing a subscription for a phone plan and/or data plan. Typically you get some sort of subsidy from the carrier or the cost of the phone is split up between the payments (e.g. 24 monthly payments over 2 years)

The benefit to the buyer (you) is you get a cheaper phone or you don't have to put as much up front.

--

Pre Paid is just a plan you have with a carrier. You pre pay your minutes/data and use them as you see fit but you don't have a monthly data or minutes plan.

--

All that said, typically the newer phones are going to cost more off contract because you are paying the full retail price without any carrier provided subsidy. There are cheaper options out there but you limit your hardware specs usually. Only other option is to go the used after market phone plan on sites like swappa.com

I've picked up a few phones used and never had any issues. The only brand new windows phone I bought was the cheaper lumia 520, but it only has 512 MB of RAM so there's problems with certain titles and some can't even be played.

Is the HP stream 7 with windows 8 worth getting at $55 over a Amazon fire hd 7?
Does it still come with a free year of Office 365 and $25 MS credit? I bought one for $70 several months back and had just purchased a laptop for my son so I needed Office 365, that helped justify my purchase.

It just says free year of office 365. Would the $25 credit be in the box? My wife bought both tablets yesterday and said which one for me to decide to keep.

The $25 was automatically added to your account when you set up the tablet. It may not be available anymore, I'm not sure.

Anyone familiar with the process of unlocking a no contract phone?  Do you have to have to put in another cell phone provider's SIM to complete the unlocking.  I just purchased the Nokia Lumia 635 for AT&T at Target's clearance for $14.99.

File a report online as a non-AT&T customer. If you haven't turned it on, they will send you an unlock code in a day or two. If you have, well, it may take longer than that. A small portion of people also were denied a code once they turned on the phone since it hasn't been used for 6 months. Very nice price for the 635 that you got!

It seems that Windows Phone 10 will run both WP7 & WP8. Additionally, it will let you re-download de-listed games that you have purchased. This has me pretty excited. HOWEVER, the Windows Insider app has pretty abysmal reviews. A lot of users who installed WP10 this way complain about apps crashing or disappearing. Even though I have 3 WP8 phones I don't think I'll risk screwing up any of them and will just wait until MS officially pushes out the OS to the phones.

Yea, the preview releases for Windows 10 have been for the most part stable and functional, but the Windows Phone 10 previews have been marred with a number of issues. It is to be expected in this type of preview program, but I think many people who installed it on their phone were at least expecting the progress to be on par with what they experienced on their desktops.

I installed WP10 preview on a secondary phone I had to check it out and even though the last few releases have improved everything, I still reverted back to 8.1. There are just too many issues still to use it consistently right now. While Win 10 releases next week I'm pretty sure WP10 is still a few months away from a final stable build.

Although If they are going to let you re download older stuff that is no longer available that is a step in the right direction.

Thanks I got the code! Would you happen to know if this is capable of 256GB or higher microSD? Also is there a way to transfer Amazon Prime Music onto the phone?

I had the 830 and I was only able to go up to 128GB. Not sure if that helps.

Also, I can't really speak to Amazon Prime Music. I think I ended up downloading to my PC using their desktop music app and then transferring that way. The lack of some first party apps does legitimately rear its head sometimes. On the plus side, if you use Soundcloud, the Audiocloud 3rd party app is actually superior to the first party app on Android.

How does it compare to Nokia/Microsoft's MixRadio? So far I'm loving how MixRadio has no commercials.

Its a different beast. Soundcloud is mostly indie stuff posted by artists that are just starting out. I listen to a decent amount of EDM and thats where it really shines. You may be amazed at what some guy is Minnesota is making in his mom's basement.

Sooo good news and bad news.

Good news is that red stripe deals are back. Bad news is that they're back (as in they're not new). Pacman DX is the deal this week.
