Off Topic: Has anyone ever had problems going back/playing an old game? I bought Bioshock sometime in March (when it was on sale), but for the life of me I just cannot get into the game. I've tried so hard to enjoy the story, but the gameplay just doesn't stack up. I didn't think a game from 2007 could have aged so bad for me.

Same thing happened to me with Mass Effect. I bought it when it went on sale and I put like 2 hours into it and just couldn't continue playing it. And I loved Mass Effect 2 & 3.

Had that happen with Crysis. I could not stand how the AI acted. It was just horrible. Can't say I had the same problem with Bioshock though. I only played it last year and it was just fine for me.

This happens with RPGs for me and more recently State of Decay. I forget controls or game mechanics and don't feel like re-learning them when I have a ton of other games I can pop in and play that don't require a tutorial to have fun.

In other news, the Xbox 360 yesterday apparently improved the Xbox Video player, thanks... Microsoft... (Clearly a real pressing matter for someone down at HQ). [1 of many sources]

What do you mean? You just go to the store and it pops up $4.99, you take the update on the 360 and hit Y over you save to upload it to the X1 server and you're good to go.

That said, I just started it up for the first time on the X1 with my old save for the first time in like...2 years. So much new stuff. I have no idea what I'm doing anymore.

Yep, same for me. I'm going to have to try getting some achievements tomorrow and see if that does it. Going back to my comments yesterday, wish they would have said what you needed to do exactly.

 
What I have so far...

My 1st account that I bought minecraft digitally on, has the 4.99 offer.

On my other old account that has minecraft & mine craft achievements, it shows the 19.99 price.

I thought it would take time to update or something, it reflects the price on the xbox website as well.

I wanted to like Monaco, but it's just not particularly fun. Played 5-6 maps with some friends online, trying to go stealth and occasionally ending up in guard-chasing mayhem, but it just isn't a very fun game. I can see why people have been raving about it: interesting art style, cool music and such, but it's kinda laggy and with more than 2 players the art style actually makes it hard to understand what's going on: even on a 42" HDTV. The fact that everyone needs to be alive/revived to move on is also annoying, and with the AI being totally unpredictable it's a further annoyance (I had times when I went past their eyes to no effect - other times they randomly "guessed" where I was).

I'll probably give it a shot in single player as well, it's probably easier to handle since you only have to worry about your actions and not deal with lag, revives and what not. But so far it's one of the most disappointing GwGs for me, and with me already owning Halo Reach, that's pretty much it. Oh well, may try and kill a game from my backlog before Destiny comes out.

 
Awww I loved Monaco. As a coop couch experience, it raises the tension with the revive system. I guess I admit it's not as accessible with those who aren't used to games. It sure is hilarious though to watch them try but I can't fault the game for maybe being intended for a more dedicated audience.

I thought the characters and abilities were fun. When everyone knows what they're doing and is past the learning curve of understanding what the heck is going on screen, it plays beautifully. Shame it didn't do well on the 360 like its PC counterpart.
 
Okay so let's hope the rewards program is still in transition here since there seems to be mistakes.  It has me down as 25 games played (I have 45 currently installed and that's not even half of what I own digitally) but my gamer score is past 28,000.  Hmmm...so according to the site, I've 100% all 25 of my games and apparently a bunch of dlc for those games to reach my current score....mmmkay...

So Monaco does do local co-op? Cool. I need to get another game I can play with my wife. We can only play so much Street FIghter, and the only other two games we used to play were original XBox games that I can't play with my new hard drive.

 
Just downloaded Need for Speed with EA access. My hard drive is now 83.8% full with only 59gb left. Microsoft really fucked up by only giving us a 500gb hdd when they wanted such an emphasis on digital downloads. Looks like I need to look into a external hdd

Yeah I miss the "Use 5 apps for 5 hours or more each" or "Use new apps" type of things to earn. Now it not only seems to be tied almost entirely to you buying stuff, but that even if you have tons of credit you've been sitting on it still won't be of any benefit in helping earn more credit.

Surveys are about all I ever do here. So I'll keep at that myself. $20 back after spending at least $180 is insanity to me.

I think they fully redeemed themselves by allowing any external usb drives and gave us a media player for all our "personal" content.

I already had to delete BF4 and it's expansions, and I only have 17GBs left without it...

I've been watching SD hoping good deal comes along for a 3-4TB external.

Or they could have given us a reasonable amount of storage and also included the usb support and media player. Its not like usb support and media playback are new concepts, or even something we should be grateful for, they should be standard and expected by the consumer

Rewards changes are garbage. I bet people were bitching about the Gamerscore requirement for the previous rebate system. Not only is it now based on spent money, but it sounds like it resets annually. I'll never get it again this late into the gen and not getting an Xbone.

 
I would probably hit those goals for the movie/TV purchases if it was easier to find out what programs/movies are on sale. Every week PSN has a 99 cent movie schedule that has at least one recent to fairly new movie available for rent. I've bought from them many times to see movies that came out before they aired on cable. 

If Microsoft had a similar program (weekly 99 cent movies), I would be very interested.

 
I think the only decent thing about the new rewards program are the games with gold ones where you get 1000 points for playing the game 10 hours within 14 days of it being a GWG and 2000 if you buy an add on.  Let the game run a couple of nights while you sleep and it should take care of it if you don't plan on playing it.  The VIP thing can lick a grundle.

Seriously, I went from having the highest VIP status to a bs one star which isn't correct. I'm done with it, they can eff off with this new crap.

 
I don't buy digital, so the added changes don't matter as much for me.  The reward amounts have always been frivolous anyways.

I'm still good on surveys and Xbox Live gold renewals
