Nope, it's just that one game. I've played other games with film grain/motion blur and it doesn't bother me. It's just something about the way it's applied in Mass Effect that messes with me.

Same here, There are only two games that make me feel nauseous when I try to play them and thats Half Life and Mass Effect 1. I was pumped to play ME after playing through 2 and 3 but after an hour I had to stop playing the game.
 
So far i completed the prologue in D4 and its really good. Its classic Swery and theres even a character named Forrest Kaysan in the game too, its pretty much the spiritual successor to Deadly Premonition. Its weird, funny and interesting.

ME1 I could do, but the Half-life series just messed me up. Dishonored did too but only for awhile. I have no idea why.

So Flockers has a Day 1 Discount for Gold members, similar to what PS+ has been doing for a while.

That's cool, but the Flockers price is ridiculous.  Team17 is really out of touch with how to price their games.  Worms Battleground is $25 as well.  Neither of these games look terribly interesting and both are just rehashes of games we've played before.  I really don't know what Team17 is thinking.

It's entirely because they get retail releases in Europe, from what I can tell. They have a bigger following over there. So they price them like budget retail releases instead of standard downloadable releases.

I agree Tyler, their pricing is way high. I will not be buying any of their games until they start pricing games better. Seriously $25 for a worms game, give me a fucking break!
 
Possibly wrong place to ask but does anyone know how large the file size for the Xbox One day one update is? I've got a $400 Xbrick sitting on my entertainment center, and I'm on the fence about getting broadband or a pay as you go mobile hot spot. Before anyone flames me, I can't seem to find an actual answer on Google.

I found 500MB on Bing, but it might make you download more than the Day One update. There has been several updates released since then that make the console more kinectless friendly and improve overall performance.
 
Playing Metro 2033 and I'm not really into it. It's like a cross between Fallout and Rage aka two better games. Bullets aren't a problem as long as you avoid that shotgun. It says I have two bullets per round yet I can only use one before I have to reload. Crowd scenes are annoying because everyone talks at once.  Graphics are fine; I wish it wasn't that dark though.

 
Thanks for the answer, guys. I'm probably the last holdout in America who doesn't have home Internet but between my smartphone, my computer at work and wifi hotspots, I have all the access I need at the moment. I would like to finally delve into the world of Xbox Live like the rest of you though.

No you don't have enough because a disconnected console today is worthless.

I could argue but I actually agree in this case. Had I known that Xbox One won't even start playing games without an Internet connection, I would have saved my $400, but at this point, I think I'll just pull the trigger on broadband. I missed out on most of the great downloadable titles of the 360 gen so now I can enjoy both so Internet at home might be a good thing.

Cant say i blame you. In my case, i've had internet since 96' and had my game consoles connected to the net since the days of Dreamcast, BUT i constantly find myself shelling out more cash lately for Retro games (NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, PS1). then i do in the current/last 3 or so console generations. But don't get me wrong people, i love me some World Wide Web.

Damn, if someone who browses a site like this didn't know about the day one shit, maybe MS would have been even more fucked than I thought if they hadn't backpedaled. I'm kind of surprised, but a decent chunk of people that buy stuff at my TRU said they didn't have internet at home. I don't normally ask but was informing about the Mario Kart 8 thing and Games with Gold. Guess I should at least as Xbone purchasers for Christmas or there are going to be some unhappy kids.

Anyone know if the Kinectless Bone has the patches pre-installed? I'd imagine no, with Xbone selling like shit they're surely just repackaging already produced consoles.

I bought one of the base consoles with the free game about a week ago and it still requires the day one patch. I guess in my mind it made no sense to release a console that requires Internet to function at all when every other console on the planet at least plays games right out of the box. It just doesn't make sense to me. I'm not trying to turn this into a bashfest because I love my 360 but having a $400 unplayable console sitting here mocking me is kind of pissing me off.

After I got laid off during the recession a few years back, I downsized and got rid of all extraneous bills so I don't have cable or Internet, but I have two jobs now so I can afford it. It's just having gone through that experience, I figured out that I can live without having Internet access. And, I know that games are extraneous purchases, but I can play them with something I have to pay for - electricity.

That said, I would like to get the most out of my Xbox One purchase. And I would like to play Cuphead which I have seen previews of.
 
I tried out D4 I just played the prologue only, I used Kinect to play. I love the art style and music, but the Kinect controls are so floaty. I may have to calibrate.

Yeah but if you compare them by "install" base of the last gen the Xbox One really fell off. About 10 million PS3s have been sold vs 1.7 million Xbox 360s which is roughly 6 to 1. When you compare that to PS4 first week sales (322,000) vs Xbox One (23,000) that is a 14 to 1 ratio. Even worse the original 360 sold over 60,000 units in Japan in the first 2 days. PS4 sales in Japan did plummet the second week though to 65,000 so I do agree the console market is way down in Japan.

 
Yeah in comparison it isn't selling well, but by itself, it is selling better than expected I think. Especially since months after launch, I still had friends thinking it was online only.
 
I am still having issues with Valiant Hearts. I've noticed that when I download the game it progresses all the way to 80% then says download complete. So my guess is that my issues are stemming from an incomplete game download. Any ideas?

Game downloads usually stop at 80% now as far as I've noticed. It became more apparent during the mass bannings that took Tyler, seems to be for a region check. Though I don't understand why they don't just have it go to 99 or 100 then do the check.

Also, I don't see how that would give you the problem you're having. If you don't pass the check it just says the data is corrupted and you can't even access the game.

I seriously am the same way. I think my newest generation of games I really got into were the Xbox and PS2 years. I'm 27 and the SNES and Sega Genesis were my favorite game systems and era of games. It was nice the Xbox Live introduced us to online competition via console, as in mainstream online competition, but honestly my heart is in the 16 bit era.

Give me Final Fight, Sunset Riders, and Chrono Trigger over Halo 4, Ninja Gaiden 2, and FFXIII any day

That being said, I freaking loved the Bioshock series to death and I can play anything with a great story. My favorite game of all time is Final Fantasy Tactics which is always strongly rivaled by Shining Force whenever I make my bi annual runs through them.

That sucks to hear. I only played it through the six hour EA Access trial and was blown away by the graphical improvements over M25. Though I swore off Madden about four years ago and have bought two versions of it since then, so I'm pretty much wrapped around EA's bony little finger at this point...
 
I'm too addicted to MUT to quit. I don't know what they changed this year. Normally I never play MUT.

I'm really liking D4. Just finished the first "fight". Wanted to stream and answer questions that a lot of people are having, but Twitch app wouldn't work right. I'll try to finish the prologue tonight.

The first extra case I found had a very Seinfeld nothingness conversation. Love it.

It's way better than last year which I couldn't stand for the few games I played in between flipping copies. I haven't really played Madden since the N64 I think (though would pick up the college game every couple of years) so maybe I'm not the best judge, I don't know. But losing this MUT game on a 78 yard pass as time expires where the ball goes through the bodies of three defenders on it's way to the receiver is probably the tipping point where I take it and get back what I paid for it while I still can. Then there's the occasional major rule inconsistency (that always seems to happen enough you can find other people asking what the fuck) like kicking a field goal in OT that should win the game as time expires but instead it starts a new OT period and the computer promptly scores a TD.

Maybe if it wasn't keeping me from playing other things I need to get to or that $40 TIV wasn't running out I would keep it and suffer through that because it is a lot better than last year. Well other than the commentary. Can't count how many times it's just completely wrong to what's actually just happened and even calls the teams by the wrong names like once a game.

Yeah, that's the only thing that's kept me playing but I've hit this point where it feels like there's really no advancing without either getting drastically better at the game or paying to win.

This is the opposite from what I'm experiencing. I have like 6 or 7 friends with X1's and only 1 with a ps4. Obviously the PS4 is ahead but both consoles are doing remarkably well
 
Played D4 for a bit yesterday and it's pretty cool so far. I was playing with the controller but I guess I moved my hand in a way that made the kinect think I wanted to switch control methods. So it switched mid game and I found the kinect stuff to be super annoying/unresponsive. Then I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to switch the controls back (the option looked to be grayed out on the menu). Definitely gonna drape something over the Kinect next time I boot it up.
 
I haven't played any mode but MUT in Madden. I love that mode. I used to play the game on FB with the cards and this one goes a step further with playing with the actual team you build. Sooooo much fun.

You have to press and hold Y, while being recognized on camera as the player. It's pretty annoying - just pressing any button should do it.
