I own none of them and planned on getting none of them so I dunno, I guess it's four games into the void of my ready to install screen.

They knocked it out of the park this month, between Gone Home and The Turing Test. Both are games I would have probably never bought or tried, but turned out to be really good (especially Gone Home, which was amazing).
For next month, I own TTT but haven't played it much at all. Tales of the Borderlands will be nice to net, as will Nights.
 
Honestly this looks like a pretty good month to me. Tales from the Borderlands is one of Telltale's best games, up there with Wolf Among Us and Walking Dead season 1. Trackmania looks pretty fun as a arcadey racer. Nights is solid. Deadfall Adventures I don't know much about, looks like it has ok reviews on Steam, not great. I only actually own 1 so it's a decent selection for me.

I wish Gamestop was doing a midnight release, you'd think Mario AND Assassin's Creed would be enough, and you have Wolfenstein to beef it up. I had credit to burn for Mario and didn't want digital.

Yes! One of those games definitely wasn't released on the Sega Saturn and I definitely don't still own a copy and I'm definitely not old! Hahahaha! Why isn't anybody else laughing!?

 
Have both X1 games but neither 360 games so that’s still decent enough for me. Trackmania is awesome but gets incredibly hard about half way through. I’ve been stuck

I think it’s 50/50 on devs fixing achievements after GWG. I remember Charlie Murder had an achievement fixed after its GWG release. But the second MX vs ATV game came out with about 8 discontinued achievements due to server shut down, and nothing happened.

Nights is the only game that really interests me this month. No idea what Trackmania and Deadfall are, and I hate both Borderlands and Telltale, so putting them together is double the hate.

Metroid is my favorite series, and always has been. All the reviews hailed AV as a spiritual successor to the original Metroid, and the hype was real, especially with the way Nintendo has neglected the series until very recently.

I went in with very high expectations, and while I enjoyed the game very much, it didn't live up to the extreme hype. If I had gone in without any idea of what to expect, I probably would have enjoyed it more and been surprised vs disappointed, so it's very subjective.

That said, I did log 20 hours in it over 3-4 days and got all but one achievement, so I didn't exactly hate it. It was just a lot less memorable than the games that inspired it. I can replay Super Metroid once a year and it's still just as good as it was 23 years ago, I'm not sure I'll ever reinstall AV now that I've thoroughly played it.

For $10 though? Can't go wrong.

One million percent agree with all of this. It was definitely a good game, but not nearly what I expected after all the public praise.

Fixing a broken achievement within a game and firing up servers to make other achievements obtainable again are two very different things.

 
Almost bought Tales from the Borderlands for $5 so many times after hearing how much people love it. Glad I didn't. Everything else is pretty meh. It's cool to revisit Nights once in awhile but the original really shows it's age. The Wii sequel was kinda cool, though.

Then some games like XCOM: Enemy Unknown get delisted shortly after going GwG.

 
dead fall has the completely broken achievement but also a ton of online achievements, so you will have to hurry before the online dies again after the GwG bump

 
I still have and use a 360 but am starting to transfer some over to the one instead of buying a new external for the 360

when a game goes bc does its dlc as well or is that on a game by game basis?

 
Trackmaina was awesome but people were complaining about it with motion sickness.

My son will very pleased with that one. He's been bugging for it for awhile. I'll say Kayden did you have a good week at school? Well since you did I got you the trackmania game.

I get the cool points. He doesn't need to know it was free. Thanks Microsoft for giving me some my dad is the coolest points.

Trackmania is a good one. If you like games where you can design/build your own tracks (like Trials HD, Trials Evolution, or Trials Fusion) you'll probably like Trackmania too. The free trial for Trackmania Turbo does already let you play around with a limited amount of tracks, so if you want to have your son try it out already it is still pretty fun. Plus the trial doesn't seem to have the usual time limit. Then you'll be able to unlock the full game on the 1st :)

What if that's the week you find out he's been copying someone else's dream journal, it starts slowly being revealed that he has no emotions or empathy, along with a string of pet decapitations that eventually you find evidence were his handywork only it's too late and he's right behind you with a katana and you're too shocked wondering where that came from that he plunges the sword into your gut and he doesn't even get some psychopathic joy out of it because he's so dead inside? Huh? Still gonna reward him with the game he wants?

I was going to pay the < $10 price for Tales from the Borderlands so getting it for free is a win. I know the Telltale games don't thrill everybody, but that's why Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors.
 
Dead Rising 4, does the season pass contain the "true ending"?  Word is, the true ending is hidden behind a paywall.

Supposedly yes, that Frank Rising DLC is actually the Overtime mode that ALL previous games had, which was always where the actual ending was. I heard the DLC itself sucks because playing as a zombie isn't that fun, as the new abilities take the place of being able to use normal items, and it's pretty short. Probably better to just watch it on Youtube if you care.

So I saw the BC announcement before the GWG announcement, so I was actually excited for Deadfall being BC since I picked it up when it was on sale for 90% off the last week of September. Thought I'd caught a lucky break.. until I saw the GWG announcement.

Figures it's just outside of a month before it's announced to go free, so the chances of refunds are nil.


Not mad about already owning Nights since it's good but I paid $6 for Tales which I've yet to play on any of the three platforms I own it on, so fuck me.

At least I don't have Trackmania, played the beta, was pretty fun.

Moral of the story, never buy Telltale games or 360 games that are 90% off.

I've decided not to touch anything ps3 or 360 anymore unless it's some random dlc sale or a game that never goes on sale

it's not a huge deal but the amount I've bought that became free a few weeks+ later is annoyingly high

it's more of just an annoyance than anything and it should be easier to do now that both my ps3 and 360 collections are so massive there shouldn't be as much temptation

it's really a crapshoot though because I don't like missing out on games by playing chance with gwg/ps+

Enemy Unknown was likely so they could sell more of Enemy Within at it's higher price or maybe to encourage new buyers to skip straight to 2. Forza was certainly music and/or car licensing. Though it does make sense to get one last chunk of money from GWG before delisting, or fill a slot for free if with a MS published game, I don't think there have been that many companies that have tried to take advantage of this.

 
Have Trackmania Turbo, it is a lot of fun. I've played Trackmania all the way back to Trackmania Nations on PC - half the fun of the online courses was figuring out where to go, some got really creative & each track had an optionally video tutorial too - and later picked up a copy of Trackmania Sunrise off eBay. Tales is great, also have that one. I'm not a huge fan for TT games but I love Borderlands and loved what they did with this game. Don't have Nights and I've always been interested so that's nice. No idea about Deadfall but I'll add it to the list I'll prob never download lol.

Downloading the Fortnite update, can't wait to get back into that with all the additions they added with this update.

To get the best ending, the true ending, I think you have to beat it on Blackest Friday difficulty and complete all the trials before the timer goes off. Gave me a goddamn headache doing that. I did 100% DR 4, all DLC included, and for the most part it's a fun game. The DLC kinda sucked though. If you're not into completing shit to 100% I'd say save your money and just watch it on YouTube. Mini Golf was my jam though, I played that for fun even after I got all the achievements.

Nothing here screams "You gotta buy an Xbox One " so maybe December will have something to change my mind.

I seem to remember Nights being an ok game. Deadfall Adventures had a somewhat fun demo but the longer I played, the more bored I became. Maybe if enough people here decide to play it, I'll give it another chance.

Uh, these games are supposed to be bonuses, gifts for Gold members. They're not supposed to convince people to buy the console.

Not really. Most of the bundles out there are for games I'm not interested in and with Black Friday coming up, I was hoping for a GWG title to really grab my attention.

I don't hate what they selected; I was caught up in the moment since the Starter Bundle I liked (and will probably end up getting) had that 3 months of XBL would have made for a sweet bonus if one of the freebies just happened to be something I would have paid full price on Xbox One anyway.
