Think I am finally going 4K.

Costco has the Samsung  #UN55MU800DFXZA for $679. I was hoping to go for a 65 inch but to get a good HDR set for less than $700 is a good deal.

The MU8000 is a good TV. Know lots of people that were happy with the KU8000 which was the 2016 version of the same TV.
 
Ended up getting another FreePlay reward tonight. That brings my total to $35... Not too shabby for playing Fortnite like I had been for months. :)

So I played Burnout Paradise Remastered and I don’t know. I wasn’t immediately blown away like I was, ironically, by the 4K update to the BC Forza Horizon. So I started up the original BC version since I have it on my X1X. Admittedly, the remaster got the 4K treatment. No more jaggies and crystal clear overall. That said I’m not sure if the BC version is running at 60 FPS on an X to begin with because I felt a better sense of speed on the original. Maybe the jaggies do that? LOL.

Anyway, it’s good but wish they had added HDR as well to make it pop. I think I’ll stick with the 10 hour trial and buy it when it’s cheaper.

Maybe they should have let the BC team do the upgrade based on how FH really did blow me away when I played it with the X enhancements.

I’ll play some more. Might change my mind.

Edit: forget what I said. The more I play it, I am seeing other differences like smoke and particle effects. I may have jumped the gun.

I really love this game. When it first went BC I fired it up but didn't do much with it because I had completed the stuff I loved the most like crashing all the gates and billboards. I just played for for a little under an hour and got 100 gates and around 25 billboards. I forgot how out of reach some of them appear and I'm going to love the challenge of getting them all again. I think I did one race in the midst of all that.

I don't have the greatest eye for analyzing the quality of the upgrade on a game that's so frantic at times, but it looks pretty good to me and I'm enjoying the hell out of it again.
 
Burnout Paradise remaster seems really underwhelming for $40. However, I will say going back to the 360 version the image is of much, much higher quality. It doesn't' seem like much if you just boot up the X1 version first but going back to the 360 version It's quite the leap graphically. That's not to say the game looks like a X1 game but It's like a 4k texture pack for a 360 game. But since the 360 version was already GWG and BC It's a really hard sell for me to spend $40, especially when you know within the year It's going to hit the vault.

I can only recommend it if you absolutely loved Burnout Paradise (and enjoyed it more then Takedown/Revenge) and have extra money to blow.

If it was $20 and not BC a much easier sale. I hope however that Burnout Revenge gets remastered (and even better, Takedown).

Of course, the hypocrite in me is going to spend $40 on Dark Souls Remastered which is also probably going to be just a 4k texture pack update with the addition of 60fps gameplay.

I got a few more emails on Wednesday and I've got you beat by a fiver. Bummed no one here seemed to win any of the 1 year gamepass or live codes. By far the best Live Rewards contest I've been a part of since becoming a member in 2010.

Even with all that I'm still too cheap to buy Burnout at full price. The trial will probably be enough for me until it goes on sale anyway. Plus it's not really wowing me at 4k like I feel a game like this should.

Yeah, upon further reflection the Paradise remaster is definitely a nice upgrade visually. I still feel like the free Forza Horizon BC update was in many ways even better (with the exception of some nice particle effects that were added to BP).

I’m with you thinking I won’t spend the $40 on the remaster. I’m fine with the 360 version and the 10 hour trial.....then eventually playing in the Vault.

If it were Burnout Revenge, that would be a different story as one of my all-time favorite arcade racers.
 
Can't be mad at everyone getting those Play Day rewards because I got a bunch of Microsoft moneys in my account and outside of the movie rebate bullshit thing, I haven't spent any of it in nearly two months and some of it expires in May.

Sigh. I had changed my password, and I did again, but this is bumming me out. After it was stolen, he was signed into Edge for about 15 hours, then got on Mixer for a few mins. I left him auto signed in because I was hoping he'd join a party or launch a MP game so I could try to sniff his IP. The next day I wanted to start downloading to my new HDD so I kicked him off, but it's disappointing he's now moved on to my email. At least that gets logged tho. I'd guess that's a VPN, but it may have shipped that quick. Why couldn't he have just sold it to a pawn shop that reset it? Ugh.


This is annoying, but BC is notorious for car theft and I'm thankful I was able to drive away.

How does the thief get access to your email? I know it stores your email address on the console, but how did they get the password?

I wonder if Microsoft can permaban a console by the serial number. Might be worth taking pictures of our console serial numbers?

It's possible he cracked the password I switched to, as it had been used previously and wasn't very complicated. It is quite odd that it was an automatic sync, not a sign in. Also, I didn't clear the account alias which is listed for every other entry I checked. I wonder if I could convince support to give me a couple thousand to set up a new account and ban the stolen one. Ya, that's not gonna happen.

Your serial numbers can be viewed on the account website. I talked to support for an hour Sunday, and I asked about tracking the IP or banning the console. You'd think it could be banned for being stolen, but that's not their policy.

It disappeared sometime last month or so from the PlayStation store but not Xbox at the time. I posted about it on the psn forum but nobody seemed to care and I’m guessing it went totally unnoticed. I’ve tried google searching ever since to see an article or forum posting about it but so far there has been zero talk. Hopefully this means a new port? Doubt it... lol

Soul Calibur I think is only game possibly worthy of that honor since that game hasn't gone on sale once and I'm tired of not being able to add that to my backlog.
