Wow, I don't own either of the XB1 Games with Gold already, nice.

Madness Returns is a good game, despite being too long and too repetitive.

Wii U is my bedroom console, love being able to play it just before bed without having a lot turned on. That being said, is anyone here buying into the switch? I couldn't be less excited for it. I am not even in the "waiting for price drop" category, more like if I'll pick one up if I see one dirt cheap at a yard sale. Would love to get that bomber man on DS tho.
 
Re: GWG, it's a good lineup. I'm a little disappointed in the 360 games, but only because they were already BC. I like to see stuff that's not already BC so that even if I already own them, I have a reason to get excited, haha.

Also, thanks to Dennis for posting the Ghost Recon single-player video. I barely ever watch stuff like that before game releases, but I watched that one and now I'll probably end up getting it down the line at some point. I got a definite Far Cry vibe from the locales and camp infiltrations, but the strategy elements seem really cool.

Maybe, we'll see. Always thought I'd end up getting a Wii U, but they didn't have any sales to tempt me the last couple of years and once Switch was rumored, I saw no need. Eventually I'll get a Nintendo console to play through all of the good first party Nintendo stuff I've missed over the years, but I'm just not sure when.

For me, the quality of their first party games is the only selling point of the system. I really couldn't care less about the system's features itself and a lot of the stuff that's been revealed is pretty disappointing, IMO (price of extra controllers, small hard drive, lack of physical BC, Nintendo's online plans).

Overcharging for a 20 plus year old game whose new characters are re-skins. Violent Ken is the dumbest thing I have heard since Evil Ryu, which has always been dumb.

We just need SFII:Hyper Fighting or Turbo HD added as BC and we're good.

 
One nice benefit of being so late to the Xbox One environ and not having had Gold for a few years is that almost every GWG just means free games for me. I own none of this stuff! Starkiller is the bomb diggity too, nice to see that.

 
Alice is a great game and I'm excited to be able to play it on the One now. I was really into it for a while then just stopped playing for some reason (dark souls) I even have the weapons and dresses dlc.

I've been grabbing all the free Cars dlc hoping for a good sale one day so I'm actually pretty excited to be able to play it next week. I'm not into sim racers, but free is free. I have the other three games and I'd recommend them all.

I own a Wii U already and I got it super cheap on Craiglist from someone who was moving and just wanted it gone. I like it but I'm glad I didn't pay much for it. That and my 3DS will keep me very busy in the Nintendo department for quite awhile, and I can't imagine myself even considering a Switch until a first price drop or finding a similar killer deal. For me, I wouldn't pay more than $250, and that's if it included a game. That'll eventually be a reality, and I'm in no hurry. Unless they put out a portable-only Switch, maybe the size of a Vita? Then I'd be more interested.

Come to think of it, all of my consoles came from Craigslist, except my PS3. I'm very patient in terms of waiting for a deal.

Have to say that FRU is really a great little game. Finally something to do with my Kinect. Very original in the way you problems solve with your body to get through it.

Probably will throw my back out at some point. ;)

Technically Violent Ken is from one of the SNK vs Capcom games, but I don't think he's as unique in Ultra as he was there.

I feel like I've bought all digital last gen multi platform games on the wrong system every time one of these announcements happens.

 
Turns out my prediction was completely off and the GWG is actually solid (based solely on not owning three of the four games). Even the Deals for the week aren't completely horrible.

I know one of the selling points for FRU was the co-op, but how playable is it solo? Guessing you would play as the platforms and the character is AI controlled?

I bought a bunch of Nintendo DS's for the family years ago.. and then was disappointed when the Single Card Play feature basically went unused. Because that was the biggest selling point for us.

I nearly bought a WiiU.... but balked because most of the library doesn't support the second screen features in any meaningful way, and THAT'S LITERALLY THE ONLY REASON TO BUY THE CONSOLE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

The Switch will be the same. Its library will be a bunch of games that don't support its key features. Nintendo can claim otherwise until they're blue in the face, but hey'r freaking liars, all of them. Either developers will just not develop for it because it's too much work to include support for all the features, or Nintendo will relent and let devs develop how they want/whatever is easiest just to get ANY games for its library.

And in the meantime, Nintendo underpowers their consoles and then tries to add features devs won't make games to support to try to make up for the underwhelming hardware. So you get last-gen type of games (or worse) with gimmicks most of the games won't actually work to even support.

Same ol' Nintendo. Same ol' crap.

Nope, the controller is always controlling the characters from what I played. , but everything can be done with one hand, so you're moving the character as you're contorting yourself to make a path
 
Only reason I'll be owning a Switch is cause I preordered four of em and the presales are already at $650 each on eBay. Those three systems I'll sell will be worth owning a next gen device Day One. If not for that, I wouldn't consider buying it til Super Mario Odyssey released this holiday. I coulda snagged Breath of the Wild on my Wii U. Till Holiday, its just a Zelda machine what with all the remasters at full price(Mario Kart and Splatoon/lets be real). And then Konami selling Bomberman for $50 and then Capcom's Street Fighter II game with a few extras for the same price practically? Get bent / end rant

Just finished Uncharted 1 on my PS4. Holy cow where have I been the past 10 years. Oh right, playing games on MS systems. Carry on as per usual

That makes a lot more sense. Seen some crazy videos in the past so may end up jumping on that this week.

Wrapped up Firewatch last night and was pleasantly surprised. 3-4 hours for what is essentially a walking simulator but the interactions between the two main characters is what makes the game worth it. Loved the banter between Henry and Delilah.
And how can you say no to adopting a turtle and naming him Shelly Duvall.

I'd seriously buy a Switch just to play Street Fighter 2 with an active community. God I wish they'd put that out for the One. I am really don't want the Ultra Super Mega Legacy Edition, just Street Fighter II Champion Edition from '91/'92 would be splendid.

BTW Re7 is *FANTASTIC* such a return to roots. I had so many doubts playing the short demo. No more.

I'm hoping they can somehow add co-op into the future version though. I miss playing RE with my buddy over live. Despite 6 being a dumpster fire the combat was interesting and it had great co-op.

I wouldn't say that it was the only reason, the real reason would be for the exclusive games it did manage to put out. I know some people cared about the second screen stuff but most of the games that did implement it a lot were still mediocre uses at best. Beyond Mario Maker the second biggest use of that the second screen was probably Star Fox, and realistically it only hampered the game.

The lack of use of the single cartridge stuff sucks, but it makes sense to me. Third-party games are generally going to want to sell the most copies as possible, only Nintendo themselves would be expected to use this feature myself.

Me too, that way we can have Mario and Zelda on our Xboxes or Playstations. As Primis pointed out, Nintendo is just too much in their own world to appeal to the mainstream nowadays. Underpowered system with 7 launch games? Even Xbox One had 20+ which was considered weak. Same ol same ol when it comes to paltry third party support on Nintendo systems
