Anyone know if Costume Quest is going to go on sale?



It's not on the list for the week so I'd say no.

With Halloween this week I might play CQ again too. Or possibly finish Undead Nightmare or replay Condemned or FEAR or finally start Dead Space. So many options. What's Halloween themed games are other people playing?

Awh damn! CQ is a game that I've been eyeing for some time, and really enjoyed the trail version. I might boot up Fatal Frame for the PS2 or even Red Dead Undead.

I've started playing Minecraft again. The Halloween texture pack is creepy. I would avoid Fatal Frame series unless you have an extra pair of pants available.

I remember watching my sister's boyfriend play Fatal Frame and being creeped out so I'll be sure to avoid those along with Silent Hill. I rented Silent Hill 2 when it came out and played the first level. Once I got to the part with bloody, pulsing walls I said "Nope" and returned it. A similar thing happened with The Suffering.

I forgot I also never finished Limbo and just bought TWD 400 Days so those are also candidates for this week.
 
I had purchased Fatal Frame from a lowball on here, and been waiting for this week to play it haha. I'm going to be scared shitless from what people are saying. I heard about the PSN dropping in price but I usually use my PS3 for exclusives but this might be an exception.

The Minecraft Halloween Pack is scary? I definitely might have to check that out.

I wish I actually owned my own copy of all the Fatal Frame games. Where's my HD Collection? :(

And I wish the Silent Hill one wasn't so buggy on the 360 or I'd play it on Halloween.

You could play Manhunt for scares if you wanted. I played the Wii version of the sequel on a high school trip to Disney World, good times.

I'm also gonna assume that the non-Gold deals'll be around 'till the end of next week, but I'm not gonna take any chances. Got some points tonight, gonna get Ghostbusters x 2 and Skulls of the Shogun.

Also, completely unrelated but the Full Burst DLC for Ninja Storm 3 released this past week without anyone really noticing, so I figured I'd let you guys know:

I wanted to pick a day I had to myself to address user feedback, and I might be going to Delaware for Halloween weekend, so I could be elsewhere the rest of the week.

Edit: Due to biledriver's feedback, I've decided to change the official achievement notation colour to Lime. It looks great, I think.

Also gonna start a poll, semi-related to the possible launch of the Community section tomorrow.

I generally avoid horror games and films but when I hear good reviews about them I'm willing to step outside of my comfort zone. The Suffering (plus Silent Hill 2 and Dead Space) was one of those games. It wasn't too bad at first but I reached a part where a guy was in an execution chair and I was supposed to kill him and that was my limit. Granted he probably did something terrible to get there, but I realized the game wasn't for me right there.

The odd thing is I played through Manhunt all the way. I guess I was able to get through that considering the enemies were trying to kill me. The guy in the electric chair was not.

Good choice on Skulls of the Shogun. I enjoyed the trial and picked it up too. It was right up my alley and a steal at $5.

I'm actually finally starting Dead Space tonight to kick off my horror week. I'm not one for scary games of any sort either (the things I've jumped at playing a game before...), but I've been wanting to play it for some time so this is the perfect excuse. If I have time left I will probably play Limbo (really late on this one), Lone Survivor, or get back to System Shock 2. I actually finished Costume Quest earlier this month and agree it's a really fun game (if a tad simplistic and repetitive), but I don't particularly want to play it again so soon. I should probably find another "light hearted horror" game to go with the actually scary ones, if only for my personal sanity :whee:

I barely remember the sequel. I think it was kind of like Prototype, but not open world. The first game is f2p on PC meow I think. Will have to download it.

I bought it and think it's worth the price. I haven't tried multiplayer yet but will assume it's dead.
 
Lol I hate games like Silent Hill and Resident Evil. Scary movies don't scare me, but games do because I feel like im in there and its always with little to no ammo and no good way to defend myself. The last scary game I played was Obscure and when those demons crawled up on me and my cousin was dead I was like fuck this.
Going to play Costume Quest a year after originally planning to play it and Nightmare on North point. I'm sure Wei doesn't need guns to take down demons.
 
I may boot up Call of Cthulhu for the original Xbox this Halloween.

Also, I wonder if Major Nelson will scoop us tomorrow on the Games 4 Gold title. I expect a bit of a letdown after they delivered on the long awaited Halo 3, but we'll see.

IF (and I do mean a huge if) he does, watch it be Forza 3 and perhaps bioshock 1 or some other old game. I wouldn't mind a good arcade game being free. Perhaps Trials??

I would not be surprised if they gave us Forza 2,Perfect Dark Zero,or Prey.

NCIS and if I get it in the mail this week, Hannah Montana. They're scary because of how bad they are. :p

As for sales, I checked XBLDB and I get this gut feeling that there won't be anything added to the Shocktober "sale" and what was on sale last week is going to be on sale this week as well.

Never understood this custom, but seems like a lot of people like to go back to their favorite spooky/Halloween games around Halloween time. I'll be playing AC Brotherhood and Sine Mora.

I usually reserve Horror themed games for halloween (except a few years ago when I played through Demons Souls during Christmas because it seemed funny to me).  This year, I just finished Buffy (original xbox) a few weeks ago and now playing Dead Space 2.  Might jump to another Horror game, or jump to an rpg like i usually do during the Thanksgiving season

It's just getting into the spirit of the holiday. We don't get trick or treaters so this is really the only way for me to get into it.

I'm not sure how The Darkness holds up but I enjoyed it when it came out. Earlier this year I played the sequel and liked it too so I recommend both. Though you can probably get disc versions of both for similar or cheaper prices if you don't like digital.

You're in on it too though. Playing a horrible game like AC Brotherhood is pretty horrifying and spooky :D

I liked it as well. I think the story in 2 was better but I liked the gameplay changes in Brotherhood.

And when it comes to playing scary/horror-themed games, I think it suits the feeling that October brings.

Yeah, my phrasing was really bad. Obviously I understand why people play scary games around Halloween. I should have just said I've never personally found any desire to do it myself.

 
I Think last Halloween themed game I played was Fallout 3 mostly because of the timing I was at in the game was the Pleasentville portion with the pint sized slasher and it was fitting for the day.

The Darkness still remains one of my favorite games this generation. Mostly because of the writing, but also gameplay is pretty damn fun as well. Plus what other game has currency of eating hearts to get upgrades?

 
If anyone else needs a push over the edge to get The Darkness-Mike Patton does the creatures voice in both games.

Love me some mr bungle/faith no more/tomahawk/lovage/......

Darkness 2 seemed to have some fairly fleshed out non campaign and multiplayer parts to it. I didn't play too much but it seemed interesting

The best part of his voiceovers is the fact that there were no effects added to his lines. Every gurgle and f***ed up snake hiss you hear, that's all Mike. I admit when that game takes the big turn, it hit me pretty hard. Crazy story, very well done.
 
I decided to go back to the first Condemned as my Halloween game this year, I remember that game freaked me out at times the first time I played it.  Time to finish up the achievements on that one.  I never played the second one even though I own it, so I may jump on that next.

 
Grabbed Dead Island Riptide once the sale started. Missed it for $9.99 during the 1 day Gamefly deal and I'm not going to let this sale slip right pass me. Good thing I got that extra $20 when I bought a year of live on Sunday. Anyone know if the Dead Island Survivor Pack think it's worth $2.49? What's included with it?

The second game is arguably solid until the ending.

It's really good! This was first game that i completed at 100%. Doesn't have 1000 points from what i remember.

For today's deals - MS, it's not cool to region lock these games. Really wanted to buy Darkness 2. :(
