This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

 • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
 • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
 • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
 • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
 • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
 • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Geez, what can of worms have I opened up here?

Anyway, my comment was a little cavalier, but Guacamelee is set in Mexico, right? The lead character is an agave farmer turned luchador who beats up Day of the Dead skeletons and breaks open pinatas for coins. I know there's a difference between Mexico and other Latin cultures, but this is very distinctly Mexican.

Bioshock Infinite Season Pass for $16.99? That's adorable, I'll wait until it's $9.99 by the 2nd or 3rd time they put it on sale before this year is over.
Looks like the Xbox One deal is Nutjitsu. That $6.59 price just seems odd. :(
https://store.xbox.com/en-US/Xbox-One/Games/Nutjitsu/a7088307-e3e9-42e5-a6c0-c44ec7303d21

Hopefully I am wrong.

Now that the DLC is (mostly) showing up on xbox.com I can finish the Xbox One scanner.

Hopefully this holiday weekend I can find time to implement it. I know everyone is waiting for it.
That's Nutjitsu's regular price.

I'm too waiting for the Bioshock infinite season pass to be at 50% off, but it seems ot won't happen any time soon,oh well, back to my backlog.

I'm pretty happy how date night is turning out

babe-come-over-i-need-to-fix-my-car-tire.gif

Also hi Spylon, been a while since we seen ya here ... xbldb has served us well

I played a game of NHL 15 and it's the same gameplay as last year just with next gen graphics and it has the NBC presentation, but other than that, thats it.

Are the people posting all of these games on sale (mostly 1 game per post) watching xbldb update and posting the moment a new one shows up? If these are the normal weakly sale games, then why is everyone so eager to post and buy them right away when they will be posted on the first page of this thread soon and should be available all week? What am I missing?
Well, one reason I can think of ( and have actually seen happen ) is that price mistakes can happen and be fixed before people can jump on it. If I recall correctly, Skulls of the Shogun was advertised for 50% off on Major Nelson's blog a while back but xbldb.com caught it for being 75%( or 66%) off Monday night. It was fixed pretty quickly ( like early Tuesday morning.. I don't remember the exact time ) so people who bought it Monday night got it cheaper. I personally waited and bought it at 50% off, which frustrated me for a little while, so I remember it.

A sale with retail games, XBLA and DLC? This must be a glitch :O

I don't know if I should pick up the 2nd State of Decay DLC, I bought the 1st one when it was on sale the last time and still haven't started it.

Titanfall is stealing too much time... Season Pass sale please so I can say goodbye to my friends

Oh and if you don't buy Garden Warfare at this price you're crazy.

Great sale this week, with lots of varied games. I got the second State of Decay DLC. Now that I own Dishonored (for free) I'm tempted to get it's DLC (50%), but it was 75% off some months ago, so I'll wait until at least they are 66% off.

Bioshock Infinite Season Pass for $16.99? That's adorable, I'll wait until it's $9.99 by the 2nd or 3rd time they put it on sale before this year is over.
I know right? I checked the db and it seems it was never on sale. I SWORE it was on sale at some point... But it can't lie, I guess? Also, $17 is a slap in the face in terms of a deal. I know it's a bargain already, but PPPPPPPFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTT. It's about the savings!

and nuts and bolt was just instantly bought :) been dying to get that

now idk much about Mafia 2 but for 4 bucks i think i may try it

any thoughs?
I am actually playing it on disk right now and I like it. It is a little bit slow I guess. A lot of driving and talking but you can find Playboys with real pics if you are into that stuff. Also the music is not bad for the 40s.

If an EA game goes on sale and you have EA access, do you get 10% additional off? Curious if it's known.
I was curious about the same thing so when the EA UFC thing was on sale last week I believe I pulled it up and it was not showing the extra discount just the 33% off that was available via Gold. I did not want the game so I did not buy it, but being that the full price games show discount, I would say its safe to assume that it only applies to retail cost. But hopefully they change this, because if we are paying for 10% discount it should apply to current prices.

Microsoft sexually assaulting wallets. However, i will wait for the final summary of all deals and start checking which ones look like GwG material. I don't want to regret it even if it's just 2 bucks.
Almost every game I've seen people say will probably go to PS+ or Games with Gold hasn't so hearing that is now a pet peeve of mine.

If you like shoot-em-ups, Under Defeat HD is now available as a Games on Demand title for $20. It's a 1 GB download, was previously available on PS3 but not for 360 in the US. The Achievements are super easy, they say.

Holy crap that is awesome. Sure it's not a deal, but Date Night got even better in my eyes. Last week I thought, I'll never spend all my credit. Now? I see myself spending at least 40 this week.

This sale is making up for a lot of horrible weeks I've had to suffer though.  With that being said...

Instant Buys:

Far Cry 3 (Been waiting for it!)

On the Bubble:

Spec Ops

Shadow Complex

Mafia 2

Walking Dead Season 2 Season Pass

Wolf Amoung Us Season Pass

Guacamelee! STCE

Probably waiting until they are cheaper:

Rayman® Legends

the X1 sale is NFS Rivals DLC the game is still normal price so i guess we'll see tomorrow if it drops.
Someone on reddit said it appeared in the EA Access Vault but went away, they posted a screenshot too. So most likely, it will be available for EA Access members shortly.

I hope so, it's one of those I meant to play but didn't get around to it.

Great deals.

Picked up Crysis 3, Soul Calibur V, Banjo Kazooie, Spec Ops, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Red Dead Redemption, GTA IV and Shadow Complex. Already own half of these, but would like to go digital and sell the physical copies.

Still waiting for Far Cry to hit $7.50 or lower. Undecided on Ridge Racer...

They certainly kicked some ass in regarda to 360 deals but most of the complaints are that there are no worthwhile Xbox One sales and I have to agree with them. There's plenty of games on the One right now that should be seeing price cuts yet MS keeps giving One owners these little bullshit DLC sales that nobody gives a fuck about. Hopefully there's a Labor Day flash sale next week or something.

If I didn't already have the PS3 version, I would have jumped on this. The 360 has some unique shmups that the PS3 never got like those Cave shmups.

Could anyone speak to the quality of the co-op in NFL BLITZ?  Can I do, for lack of a better word, the "campaign" in NFL Blitz with a friend online?  Thanks in advance.

I know enough about reasons for immigrating, but no reason on the matter changes my stance. The idea that you have to have first-hand or second-hand experience to understand a concept's moronic.

I can't say I care though, just glad I was able to get you riled up.
No I was not riled at any point, it's actually funny that you think I was... I only quoted you because you were right about how some people would find Mexican as a reference to the whole Latin culture offensive, I never referred to you when I mentioned that some are ignorant enough to not know that (but you made an amazing effort to fall in the same bag) and I'm more that sure that you have plenty of knowledge about migration the local network news and teenager blogs have always been the best source of information.

And of course you don't care... that's the beauty of ignorance you have two options one is to get out of it and the other is to remain there and don't even realize that you are there in the first place.

Sorry for all the off topic things... back on games!

Geez, what can of worms have I opened up here?

Yes, Guacamelee is set in Mexico and all the references are to Mexican culture... it's an amazing game it plays more like castlevania than metroid, from metroid you can take the level progression (you need X power to go to X zone) and the backtracking.

There are a ton of Easter Eggs in the game referencing video games/pop culture/memes. Even if you don't know much about Mexican culture, it's not like you're going to be lost playing it.

If you like shoot-em-ups, Under Defeat HD is now available as a Games on Demand title for $20. It's a 1 GB download, was previously available on PS3 but not for 360 in the US. The Achievements are super easy, they say.

Wow, that came out of the blue! Didn't hear anything about this game coming to the 360. I have the PS3 disc and digital version, but will get the 360 digital too. Hopefully we'll see a few more good shmups on 360 before the system stops getting games.

For anyone on the bubble, considering Spec Ops The Line, in my opinion it has one of the best storylines of any single player shooter of this generation.  It starts a little slow, but it gets a lot better by the time you're halfway through, and the endings are fantastic.  (There are multiple endings based on the decisions you make in the final level.)  The action and gameplay itself is a little paint-by-numbers, nothing you haven't seen before, but it's not bad.  The story telling here really sets this game apart.  Well worth $4.50 in my opinion.  Just don't give up on it after the first two levels because it seems boring.  It gets a lot better.

Yeah that was one of the great things about that game, just looking at/for the easter eggs, there's pretty much bound to be at least a couple you will recognize if you play the game.

Funny I finally beat state of decay and enjoyed it. Started looking at the dlc and was wondering if it had been on sale or not. Log in this morning and boom found 3 ladies to court tonight. Both sod dlc and banjo n & b. was hoping to take a fourth, looking at you watchdogs for the one.

Generalizing it always bad. This is exactly the same as calling a European (Germany, Sweden, UK. Etc) gringo... They find it offensive and an act of IGNORANCE, so if anyone is referring to all Latins as Mexicans please study a bit and try to act less ignorant.
I don't think anyone in here lumped all Latins into the Mexico category. The game is guacamelee and features a masked pro wrestler....this type of wrestler is from Mexico (or at least was originally). Therefore...his description of Mexican for a luchador is accurate....

Damnit.  The Forza Horizon Season Pass has been $5 cheaper.  Not sure if I should just grab it now, or wait and hope it drops to $15 again....

Yeah, I'll probably just pick it up.

Picked up one of the State of Decay DLCs last time it was on sale and forgot how to play. Do any of the other DLCs have a tutorial or do you have to start a new game in the base version to replay tutorial?

I hope NFS Rivals gets added to the vault soon. Rented it once and the sale ended just before I tried to buy it. Feels a little like Burnout, that's a good thing.

Ad for a Project Spark game

Somebody started a kickstarter for their Project Spark game "Godzilla". The game is completely free, so you don't have to give money to play it. However the game might not get finished for a long time (if at all) without the money. There is an early build playable right now in Project Spark (Search for Godzilla) and I enjoyed it enough that I'll think about throwing some money his way. If I was a Godzilla fan, it would be a no-brainer. I played it on stream with commentary and did a no commentary playthrough. I can stream the game again this weekend if requested (send PM or ask in stream chat). In the current version, you play as one of several different monsters and destroy a town. As time goes by, other monsters and enemies that show up trying to stop you. In the next version, there are more monsters and game modes planned, including multiplayer.

Check it out on Windows 8.1 or Xbox One and think about throwing a dollar or 2 his way if you liked playing.

Feels like burnout because criterion makes them now right?
