Grabbed BG&E and the Marvel pack for this sale. Both very worthy of my M$ points that have been sitting there.

Also grabbed the Robin character pack.

I picked up BG&E just now (read about it earlier and almost forgot about it till I saw an article about HD remakes...). I already have it for PS2 but haven't played it yet. For $3 I think I'll double-dip to enjoy the better visuals.
Also grabbed the Robin character pack.
That reminds me, anyone think Arkham City DLC will ever get a sale? I was glad to have the Robin DLC that came with my copy from BB, and love the game and all, but I don't wanna shell out an extra $7 for Nightwing challenge map DLC, though the Challenge maps have always been my least favourite part of the experience anyways. But I know I'd probably bite if it were $5, like that upcoming skin pack which I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy day one since I don't really see that getting a sale.

The previous game's DLC never being on sale made sense since there really wasn't anything aside from the 2 extra challenge maps (the one with the CE version, and the pre-order one from GS), the rest of the DLC being entirely free, and I'm sure had I bought a non-GotY copy, I would have had no problem paying full price (the prices were rather minor imo, I think each map was $2), but with Arkham City they really cranked up the DLC, as well as its price. There's $27 worth of it so far (including the Catwoman DLC that comes with all new copies), with a $5 skin pack on the way as well as another Catwoman DLC, and they've yet to set a price for the CE challenge map and the GS pre-order challenge map, so we're talking probably close to $40 of DLC here.

So, what's more likely? Eventual sale or are they just going to release a GotY edition? The option of neither is of course, entirely valid.

I can possibly see the dlc for sale in the future. maybe not a dotw, but rather a warner brothers sale? But if you cant wait that long a goty should be coming soon, cause to me this won hands down. As for this week's dotw hopefully its something not that great. Voltron and Scene It- Movie Trivia for wednesday.

Just picked up Beyond Good and Evil HD. Have it on the Xbox but never got around to playing it (seems to be similar to several others).
Kinda hoping the next DotW is a snooze, just a little bit. Either that or it gives me a way to dispose of my 260 MSP remainder.

As for this week's dotw hopefully its something not that great.
Please stop jinxing DOTW. Unless you guys are trying to use some sort of reverse jinx. That's good thinking.

I could go for Bloodrayne and Renegade Ops half off this week. :) I'll also take Bubble Bobble Neo, I really want it, and I know it will never go on sale, but I hate to spend $10 for it at this point.
I think the whole BG&E camera issue is being blown out of proportion. Yes, I prefer inverted too and yes it's a bit disorienting at first, but by the end of the demo I had already made the adjustment. To call it unplayable is sort of extreme. Suck it up and enjoy the fact that you're getting a game widely regarded as exceptional by core gamers for a mere 3 bucks. Or don't. Either way it's not getting patched at this point so move on.
That was exactly the kick in the pants I needed. Thank you, sir. :applause:
Fixed that for you. ;-)

(I get the distinct feeling that avatar gear isn't going to be ported over to the next gen system when it happens...and I think there's even a very slight chance that XBLA games won't end up being transferrable to the new system, because M$ can be that stupid about things.)
I know there were a handful of XBLA games on the original Xbox. Some of them were/are also available on the current incarnation of XBLA (including all the delisted Midway games). Does anyone remember how MS handled that transfer? Or if people had to just rebuy them?

You would've needed to rebuy them. But that version of XBLA was rudimentary compared to the current implementation. It's safe to expect XBLA games for Xbox 360 to transfer to the next console as well.

Why do you say it is safe to expect that? I am just wondering if there is anything in particular, or if you are just guessing?

Looks like I'm going to be pulling another all-nighter, so you can bet I'm going to F5 the fuck out of Spylon's price drop database. I'll post if I happen to be crazy enough to find out first.

I assume EastX is guessing considering all the money people have sunk into digital purchases on the 360, there'd be mass rioting if the system wasn't continually supported/ported over. When it happened with the original Xbox it hadn't caught on as great a scale, and the system as Eastx put it was "rudimentary" and the fact that they extended its lifespan past the 360s release so much didn't hurt either, but now? You can sure as hell bet that Microsoft better carry the system over, your purchases should guarantee you some permanence, it's not like Microsoft is in danger of going under. It's the difference between being annoyed over the iPhone store not moving between phones, and being pissed that your phone's contract not only doesn't move phones, but you still have to pay the whole thing.

@EastX's post below -> That too.

Just an educated guess.

Not allowing digital content to transfer to the next console would be a tremendous mistake that neither Microsoft nor Sony is likely to make. Digital games have the potential to go on selling forever since they don't need shelf space. If Xbox 720 (placeholder name) users couldn't purchase original XBLA games, all of those games would suddenly have greatly reduced audiences, which would screw over their developers and cut into Microsoft's shared revenue too.

Then there's the end user part of the equation. If people couldn't play their old digital games on the next console, it would generate ill will that Microsoft doesn't need. It could slow adoption of the new system among hardcore users who are heavily invested in the 360 and would likely become similarly invested in the 720.

The current version of Xbox Live is so well-developed (Achievements, Avatars, XBLA games, etc.) that it would be silly to expect everyone to start from square one on any of those fronts instead of building on the well-established foundation. Microsoft is doubtless aware of all this. They can either design the system to natively run all Xbox 360 applications (likely unless the hardware changes too dramatically) or simply build in an emulator to run whatever legacy games they feel should be compatible (whether XBLA only or all Xbox games).

Agreed, XBOX Live and PSN are the platforms now, rather than any physical hardware. It would be a huge long term mistake to make old donwloadable content irrelevant on the new console.

Also, I'd say that the 3DS being backwards compatible with the DSi marketplace says something. I mean, it's freakin' Nintendo. They suck in the online arena.

I snagged both of the "good" pinball packs, and the MK Arcade Kollection. I was sort of anxious about Cyber Monday sort of sucking as a whole, so I wanted to blow something today (and I don't blow guys)
I was sort of anxious about Cyber Monday sort of sucking as a whole, so I wanted to blow something today (and I don't blow guys)
I'm sure that crucial bit of information has left the entire male CAG community, nay the entire male population!, heartbroken. :whistle2:#
Thanks for bumping the thread. I bought Beyond Good and Evil probably just a matter a minutes before it goes back up to $10.
See, sarcastic comedy serves a greater purpose. Good job everyone.

Anyone have any last minute things to convince me on MK Arcade (think 400 may be too high), Outrun (don't want to be getting it just because its getting delisted), Sega Rally (no idea about the quality), or the Homefront DLC (yet to even touch my copy of homefront)?

Played Super Meat Boy some yesterday and all day today and beat it (the daytime levels). Took me like 8 hours. That game is really hard but awesome. I wonder how Splosion Man compares in difficulty...

I went ahead and double dipped on BG&E too. I have it for GameCube and had gotten pretty close to beating it, but I had gotten stuck/lost. I liked what I played of it a lot though; that was probably 3-4 years ago. Hopefully I'll be able to get through it this time.

I can't get hardly any of the achievements for the Pinball FX2 tables, lol. I need a guide on how to play them or something because I don't know what's going on half the time.

There's also the cross-platform aspect. Right now, both the Xbox 360 and Windows Phone 7 utilize the same avatars. As they add more platforms like the 720 or the next Windows gaming hub, there's bound to be more overlap, so the avatar items will likely transfer over. The same goes for the games that interact between different platform versions, too (like Kinectmals or Full House Poker). MS has stated that they want more games like that, so they're probably going to want to milk that for it's worth.

I swear I even read something about Windows 8 having some kinda of avatar integration (which honestly scares me)

There's an extensive tutorial on just about every aspect of the table in the sub-menu of each table in the game. You can access it while playing via the pause menu, even.

We all suck (Friend Of Sonic blows) at pinball, PFX2 isn't about getting the ridiculous achievements, it's about having fun and beating your and your friends' high scores.

It's about that time for Crazy Larry to announce the Tits Up Tuesday sale items.

Not a deal, but Scene It? Movie Night is coming to XBLA this Wed as well for 800pts. Additional movie packs like Sci-Fi, Adventure, Action...etc. will be released as DLC.

I hope that this game is as good as the second to the last.

If you're played the trials, there's not much I can say to convince you (especially concerning Outrun), which is why I'm glad trial games more or less exist for all these games. MK Collection is worth it to me because it does come with 3 solid arcade fighters, even if the single player difficulty is ridiculous and even if it doesn't come out on Dec. 6th, there IS a patch on the way, so obviously there's still some interest in it. I'm still waiting for Mr. Boon's surprises, and I don't think he'd give a solid date unless he was sure the patch would be around then. As for the Homefront DLC, it's decent, even if the MP is kinda dead, and it's cheap, and I don't expect a sale until Homefront 2's release (if it ever happens), but if it does, I'm sure the online will pick up again.

Thanks for the response. Ya, Outrun I used to love Outrun (SMS); but I just didn't feel it would be as fun as it used to be. And for MK, ya single player difficultly is what turns me away. Homefront I really just have no idea if its worth getting. Is the DLC any more fun than just the regular maps?

Ah, thanks for posting.......too bad these Capcom games are all repeats. Another DotW, another batch of recycled games.

It's cool though. I can take a week off to prepare for the dashboard update and get some more points after spending 1600+ this past week
They're all gold exclusive according to xbldb.com, so I'm guessing DOTW.
Ah ok, it's definitely dotw then
Not a deal, but Scene It? Movie Night is coming to XBLA this Wed as well for 800pts. Additional movie packs like Sci-Fi, Adventure, Action...etc. will be released as DLC.

I hope that this game is as good as the second to the last.
cool now if we could only get who wants to to a millionaire here

Meh, already have Age of Booty and would've bought SSF2THD if it were cheaper. Might get Final Fight but I already have a bunch of arcade games in my backlog, so will wait until its atleast 240 points.

You know, I read Capcom in the title, and thought of all of the possibilities. Then I saw 3/4 of it was stuff I already owned. :/ Still some good titles to be picked up for those who don't own them!

I strongly recommend Age of Booty to those of you who don't have it. I got it for 400 points when it was on sale from an 800 price point, and really enjoyed it a lot. At 200 it's a steal.

I strongly second this. It's fun by yourself, but even better with a friend. It offers online co-op as well as couch co-op.

Why is FLOCK! never on any of these capcom sales, its always the same stuff....FLOCK! is 1200 points still after all this time and hasn't been on sale once.
