• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

I've not seen anywhere say Yakuza is coming to Gamepass day 1. Pretty sure it's not

I thought it was in that show where they said all these games are coming to GamePass, but yeah I could definitely be wrong. So many shows already.

Microsoft has only specifically said that every first party game is coming to GamePass day one on Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. They haven't said anything about third party games like Yakuza 7 that is also coming to the PS4 and PS5 on launch day. It would be a nice surprise though if we got it. Has any SEGA game ever been on GamePass before?

I'm still not sure if I'm gonna get it but if I don't it will be solely because I bought a download of Cyberpunk for xbox and I really want to play that on my OLED. I'm debating that and buying a new graphics card and playing on my PC. I prefer playing games on my sofa but lately I've been trying to play more games on PC.

My first choice would be NBA 2K21 or Forza Horizon 4, after that it will be CoD: Black Ops Cold War. I'm honestly starting to look at the All Access option as a potential backup option for pre-ordering the Series X. I'll still do a pre-order to pay for it outright and build up Xbox funny money to help bring down the cost.

I would've waited on cyberpunk too but I used my goodbye gamersclub coupon on it so it's only $35.

I think black Friday has been a little too close to AC release dates the last couple of releases. Don't think odyssey went on sale for 2 or 3 months which would be Dec/Jan.

I was hoping to get AC Valhalla a bit cheaper but since it’s releasing on Xbox’s launch day instead of October like the last two, I’d be shocked if it dropped at all during the holidays. I know the majority of us will not be experiencing 120 FPS, but I think some of you don't realize just how much going from 30 FPS to 60 FPS is going to improve the visuals of these games on your current TVs. Extra blur from slow frame rates make games look like they are much lower resolution when in motion.

Digital gaming isn’t really at fault. No matter whether you get a physical or digital disc, it takes up the same space then there are the inevitable patches and dlc. While to an extent I understand why the new kind of hard dives needed for these systems, I wonder how many people will wait until the expansions come down in price or limit their new game purchases.
I will be patient if I can keep my Xbox one and previous gen games on the external drives I have and still get the graphics boost I had on my X and with increased load times. They need to clarify things like that. There are only one Triple A game this year and maybe two next year I’m sure I’ll buy.
Some days I’m certain I’ll buy the new console at launch then others I think it’s not worth it yet.

I was letting the hype and FOMO get to me for a few days. Now that the cob webs are cleared I'm going to hold off on getting an XSX. Being a $500 beta tester/early adopter for next gen is also a factor. I'd much rather just wait and save up for when the early "hiccups" are taken care of over time.

I already have quite the backlog of games to play one my One S that I want to play through. Having another console to play some of those games on makes little sense (for me).

X is X, enhancements work on externals and still will. No matter what you'll get loading benefits from the faster storage. Also games with dynamic resolution/unlocked framerates will automatically get boosts. I think the media decoding chip will be in both machines which will be nice for everyone.

I do have hope the community will find a way to use off the shelf drives that are up to spec. If the perks are really what they say I won't mind it so much.

My wife makes 3x what I do, it also goes in a pot with joint savings and checking accounts. We've had a few disagreements over the years, but the only times we've had problems were from things we couldn't foresee.

I'm waiting to see the price of the PS5 before I make a solid decision. As much as I want an Xbox Series X right away to go with the brand new TV I plan to buy around Black Friday, it really seems like all they have for us until at least 2021 is old games. And, I can play all of those old games already on my Xbox One X. Sony has Ratchet and Clank, and Godfall which both look pretty good to me, and even that weird Bugsnacks game.

It'll play the games, they just won't have Xbox One X enhancements. IGN and Kotaku have been really bad about posting crap that tries to say Xbox stuff sounds confusing. Series X/S will play everything the Xbox One does except a few kinect required titles. One X enhanced games won't get the 4k updates on Series S, but will still enhance games the same way it does everything else with the upscaling and auto HDR features.

So with the recent update to allow one account to be logged into multiple consoles at the same time as long as only 1 of you is playing a game - we've seem to have lost the ability to have one person playing a backward compatible 360 game on an xb1 and another person playing an xb1 game at the same time -- feature my family used a lot, kind of sucks that it is gone (haven't tried to see if using the same account on an actual 360 still works)

My bet is that to get the benefits we'll have to play them from one of the ssd options. Hopefully now that price, release date and console version announcements are out of the way we will start to get some more detailed info soon.

Yeah it's no fun when people can't just enjoy videogames and have fun with whatever their console of choice is. You can tell when certain folks get really rustled over positive news about their 'rival' console and feel the need to stir up negativity.

So with the recent update to allow one account to be logged into multiple consoles at the same time as long as only 1 of you is playing a game - we've seem to have lost the ability to have one person playing a backward compatible 360 game on an xb1 and another person playing an xb1 game at the same time -- feature my family used a lot, kind of sucks that it is gone (haven't tried to see if using the same account on an actual 360 still works)

So this is confirmed on the multiple logins? I'm surprised they are allowing it, but it's great for my family that all share several consoles and have digital games owned by various people.

I don't fully understand your issue with BC and Xb1 no longer working at the same time. I guess since BC uses a different system that must cause the conflict. I assume it still works if one person is on the "home" console, right?

I'm not surprised that a change like this also cut into sharing features like you mentioned. Quite frankly, Microsoft is so much more "generous" on the whole sharing issue than Sony or Nintendo, so I don't blame them too much.

X is X, enhancements work on externals and still will. No matter what you'll get loading benefits from the faster storage. Also games with dynamic resolution/unlocked framerates will automatically get boosts. I think the media decoding chip will be in both machines which will be nice for everyone.
I do have hope the community will find a way to use off the shelf drives that are up to spec. If the perks are really what they say I won't mind it so much.
My wife makes 3x what I do, it also goes in a pot with joint savings and checking accounts. We've had a few disagreements over the years, but the only times we've had problems were from things we couldn't foresee.

That is the consensus I’ve seen from people who understand and have gone through all the details about the X Series but haven’t heard Microsoft explain it. At least they have said “yeah, the S Series will only do this.”
I don’t know if Microsoft partnering with Seagate is that big of a deal for now. Sony’s expanded hard drive looks just as expensive. Unless those start dropping and Microsoft’s doesn’t, then that’ll be a problem. I wouldn’t be surprised when the new version comes out, SSD management isn’t one of the first things adjusted.

Edit- The list of supported xcloud titles has inadvertently confirmed River City Girls and Katana Zero as coming to Game Pass soon. Very cool.

Has it been confirmed if xcloud will ever be available for anything not on Game Pass? Other press has said xcloud supports something like over 2000 games, but it's only been talked up for current Game Pass games.

That and Windows 10 support are the two things I really want to know right now.

I'm confused on this issue also, but i've not done any research. The wording they have used over the past couple years led me to believe almost anything in your Xbox library would eventually be xcloud compatible. My assumption was that I could play my copy of XYZ game since I own it (unrelated to Gamepass). But maybe i'm way off.

I ended up getting it a couple days ago, was going to wait for 9.99 black friday but my son kept telling me how cool it was and how he would play it with me. I am really liking it and might be the closest to a Scott Pilgrim kind of experience I have played.
Now I present this sacrifice and may the GamePass gods deem it worthy to announce it soon enough...

Honestly I think we all know that person if we think about it. I know I have a friend who gets way too "SOOOOONY" and this year is the end all be all of years. Pretty sure I've looked like a sore sport myself a few times
