YMMV ToysRUS "Green" Clearance is up to 70% off!

I picked up Sin and Punishment for the Wii ($5) and Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition ($12).
The had a variety of other games, I picked these up in Leominster MA.

The worker said the prices will steadily decrease, but he is not sure when the next drop will be.

They had an assortment of other games on ALL consoles.
Some hidden gems.

Just look for the games with a Lime Green tag on them. They all say "Was $##.##" but don't give the real price until you check them either at a register or kiosk.

You might actually pay full once they ring you up again :p Some video games are back up to normal price.

I made a run to multiple stores and found lots of the following toys unmarked at any store. All rang up free.

Iron Man 3 figures ( not assemblers ones though)
Man of Steel figures
Amazing Spiderman figures (not Amazing Spiderman 2)
Avengers figures (not Avengers Assemble figures)
Toy Story Space Rex and Jessie Set

Will try and take a pic later. Got a lot lol
I look forward to the picture would love to try and get some figs to put up for Christmas!

Snagged a drum machine for my son today and 2 toy story things - one 2 figure space set with Jessie and Rex and one single figure Jessie that talks when you pull her string. Pretty happy for those.

Left 3 copies of dj hero for ps3 and a used Hannah Montana ps2 game and some ps2 darts game... And like 12 copies of Jonas...
You showed way more restraint than I did :whistle2:k

Except for the 4 Vita jewels (surprised these were left), everything else was almost worthless. But free is free.

Edt: everything is up for trade.

Man I guess I will go to my TRU to see if there is anything left, I wold love some free vita games, will see if some of these toys are there too so I can keep one of each of the cool ones lol and then donate a bunch, these are good quality toys!

Welp, all the free stuff that wasn't given away has been thrown away at this point. I threw away enough toys that could've been donated to toys for tots to make me feel like a monster. And they were legit toys. FAO stuffed animals, puzzles, breast pumps...yeah. So, this is officially over, at least at our store. Everything has been marked down and destroyed. And no, this is the first time in a long time this has been done and we just had a bunch of stuff that has never sold.

It looks like the items no longer ring up for free. I bought Michael Phelps Kinect for XBox 360 (the only game I saw that was part of the clearance), about 15 party supply items and a $1 sticker set as a filler (so my total wouldn't be $0). The game and party items rang up for $0.04 each which was still a great deal.

This is terrible. The manager couldn't have worked something out with a women's shelter or something?

Technically, we're not supposed to donate things at a store level. That's all up above us. Like, I offered to hold on to the stuff til like, a donation opportunity came up, but I was told I couldn't.

You should have misplaced your glasses that day and thrown they away in a toys for tots bin.

Would've, but that's not year-round unfortunately. And not only that, but my manager was watching me pitch the stuff off-and-on for awhile.
Can't you call someone to dumpster dive? I would assume 90% of the stuff thrown in those containers would be boxes and all those sealed toys. :( Maybe that is your managers plan all along to keep them all.

It was! We actually have a compactor dumpster, so diving isn't an option. .___.

Hey guys, how cheap did :wiiu: Call of Duty Ghosts get b4 they were all gone?

There's so many sellers on ebay that have between 3-10 copies each with the buy it now/best offer option. How are they making money off this? Lol

The seller accepted my offer for $10 with free shipping. So I can imagine that he is walking away with like $6 after shipping and fees? Lol

I offered him $20 for 2 ($10 a copy) but he declined that offer.

So let me get this straight: your manager hovered over you as he forced you to throw all of these perfectly good, still sealed toys into a trash compactor as opposed to doing something like, say, donating them to charity..

That's crazy. My local TRUs have toy drive donation boxes, you couldn't just donate the stuff?!
Corporate tells you to do something and if you don't your fired. It's that simple.

There are plenty of companies that "destroy" items via throwing them in dumpsters and compactors. This has been going on for a long time.

Thanks Darthvdogg for your updates!

I've been unloading my Call of duty ghosts  at a store called Book Off. They bought each copy for $25. made a good amount back (estimating $300+). sold a few copies to other people and gave copies of AC4, ZombieU, 007 Legends, Black ops2, to friends so that they can increase their library.

Yup. Perfectly good stuff. And hovering is kind of a harsh word, but yeah, pretty much. He came back every few to make sure it was thrown away. But no, we don't have any donation bins.

And you're welcome. I'm no Prim, but I tried.

Depending who you work for, corporate will even have you video tape you destroying the inventory. This happened to PS3s before and my friend said they had to record all of the consoles being destroyed in the compactor for corporate.

And before anyone assumes, this was NOT from TRU

My Local Still had Merchandise on the floor yesterday , it wasn't free anymore but all rang up at 4 cents a piece ! Look in the Used Game Section and regular clearance bins !   :)

Overheard a couple of workers at my local store while they were restocking items.

One asked what they were going to do with the carts in back.  The other worker responded "Don't bring those out AT ALL.  Manager already said they were to disposed.

Another store I had hit up during the sale was always saying that the clearance sale was "3rd party" driven.  As in an outside company paid TRU for the stock but were using TRU to process the sales.

So anything not sold was going to get shipped out to this 3rd party.

Pretty interesting response as that 3rd party was the excuse they usually pulled out to deny my return/rebuy requests.

I went to a store today looking for an outdated Hot Wheels set. I bought one previously for 90% off making it possibly $10. At the store, I found the last one but there was a special up clearance sticker on labeled $29.99. Rang up for that price and the cashier didn't know of any special buy one get the item free deal or anything other offer. Too bad. I wanted the car since my son ripped off the tires on his previous set

I don't know if this is a new or change or not since this is the first time I found some $0.02 items. At the price checker it says was $0.02, now $0.00 and they ring up for free without any problem.

It was just some random toys like a sticker set and jump rope but there might be better stuff out there. I was also surprised to see what games were removed from clearance, I found a stack of "used" Sing It PS3 games and was going to buy them for spare cases and they were back to $4.98. Same thing with some Sudoku PS2 game, it is back to $2.98. The clearance games that didn't go back up in price that are $0.04 are still ringing up ok too, all I found was a disc only Dark Void 360.

I found a Truth or Lies PS3 the other day that went off clearance too. Came up $4.98 or whatever

That is surprising, they will never sell it at that price if it didn't sell at 90% of 95% off. The 360 version rings up for $0.04 as of last week unless that got taken off clearance as well.

Hahaha there were a few copies of that game floating around my local Target's clearance bin for months for like $3, I was planning on grabbing it if it went under a buck just for the fresh Blu-ray case. That must be one of the most uninteresting games in the world.
