Hey everyone, long time no see? I decided to make a return to CAG PSN gaming leading the Killzone 3 clan, just like how I led the Killzone 2 clan on CAG. I'll admit it's going to be much more challenging to make this work compared to before (since I work a job every weekday along with some weekends. When I led KZ2 I was unemployed having TOO much free time), but I'm still willing to take this on.

Anyway, this first post will be a post of what game night is currently going on next and how to get in on the CAG game. 2nd post I'll be reserving for the CAG clan list.

For the clan, my goal is to discuss clan games with other forums again such as PlayStation Universe, Sarcastic Gamer, NeoGAF, and other sites.

So far with this thread, I'm starting a poll with choice of game nights. I'm looking to have KZ2 two times a week, leaning towards Thursday and Saturday nights like before, but I will try to set up times that work best for most everyone. Please make a post in the thread if you'd be interested in joining the CAG clan (so I know how many clans we need to make, I'm looking to just stick with one), what times/days you are usually available to play on.

I need at least everyone who wants to join the game night to answer the following questions:

Do you have a Headset? I have a PlayStation Eye and a bluetooth earpiece thing (Warhawk), but I don't like wearing the earpiece thing. Is the eye ok?

The only concern may be background noise picked up. If it's not an issue, no one will complain. If it affects us all, then we might complain. ;)

Can anyone recommend a good headset for not picking up background noise? USB is fine and I sit about 6-7' from the console so I would probably like the cord to be at least 10-12' to account for shifting around and snags if USB. The cheaper the better (obviously ;))

EDIT: BestBuy has a USB Headset under their Rocketfish brand which seems to work OK so far.. 15' cord and I don't think it was picking up any speaker noise while I had it loud enough to hear footsteps through surround.

Do you have a Headset? Yeah I have a Socom 1 USB headset and I run on wifi connection it works well on the demo. I wont be getting the game on day one but I am good for the demo right now

Pre-scheduled clan matches are going to be difficult since GG decided to remove the Valor system and region lock clans. From what I've heard there's a new matchmaking system in place.

Also, no server list/custom games is going make coordinating CAG nights a little harder.

Edit: Spoke to soon! Looks like one of the concerns will get patched in later.

    • Secure games, allowing you to invite the players you want to play with
    • The ability to prevent abilities and weapons from being used
    • Toggling on and off functionality, such as ribbons, skills, explosives, etc.
    • Selecting which careers you want available to players
    • Allow friendly fire to be turned on or off
    • Faction switching enabled or disabled
  • The Clan Officer role will be added to clans
  • Separate turn speeds for hip-fire and ADS
  • Overly enthusiastic death screams will be toned down
  • Increased the amount of kills required to win a Guerrilla Warfare match
  • Increased Accuracy ribbon will have its effectiveness lowered
  • Likewise, the Bullet Damage ribbon will have its effectiveness lowered as well
  • Matches will end if the other team forfeits (i.e. too few, or no players on the enemy team)
  • Matchmaking enhancements that will close and merge games based on player count, which will keep games more full
  • Balance factions out by moving players to the other team at the end of the match if one team is lopsided
  • The ability to turn off HUD markers for point pop-ups and objectives
  • A menu option to allow squad-only chat
  • The addition of a Mute All button
  • Scoreboard flickering will be fixed
  • Clans will no longer get matched against other clans that have many more players than they do (i.e. 4 vs. 7, 5 vs. 8)

When looking at the thread. Saturday is guaranteed. I dunno if I can get a Tuesday game going right when the game comes out. Thursday seems more likely. I will look into having someone setup for the west coast, since us on the East Coast may not be able to play as late.

I am not a hardcore gamer but i enjoy the Killzone series a lot. Now that we are back from deployment and not another one scheduled for a while (i hope!) i'll have time on weekends to play!
 
Um...did anybody who ordered from Amazon not ship yet? I've gotten stuff from Amazon on release date with Monday as a holiday before, but usually it's in the shipping soon stage by today. Killzone 3 is not.

UPS doesn't observe President's Day so it will ship today as long as you have release day delivery. This is a handy site for USPS, UPS and FedEx holidays:

Check again now, mine shows shipping soon and i have the release day delivery as well.

Another good week for me, moved into my new place last week. Got my sound bar today and get Killzone tomorow! Now only if i didn't have to work the rest of the week.. haha.
 
i set up clan CAG. I invited a few of you here on my friends list. then i tried to type in everyone's PSN ID. but it kept giving me user not found. please check spelling. i found it is super easy to invite your friends but its very anal about typing in PSN ids. oddly enough, out of the names (l_200STM_l, j-cart, knightsDwn, SaintNoir, Jerel, thevila) that i typed it only took TMK.

after any of you that accept, ill try to promote you so someone else can take over. ill try again later today to add more names.

update - theres only 3 or 4 operations maps. =(. im longin for more already. the turret kills are easy. its a pretty sweet looking game. they noticeably cut down the melee length. the medic revive the promised the increased reach but the cooldown is still long. you barely revive teammate before another gives up on waiting for you to end cooldown.

Be sure you typed in my right PSN-ID though (which is next to my name). Might have taken it since I was in the private and public beta.
 
ive type all of your PSN ids multiple times including you vila. i keep getting the check spelling error. its easier add as a friend and then do it.
 
I also got a few others to add to the CAG clan (who haven't posted in this thread), since they already know me in person (live in my area) and asked me to add them (they play KZ3). I eventually plan to put everyone in a master list.

First game night will be on Thursday. I decided not to do a game night on Tuesday only because I figured there would be a bunch of server issues the first day, and some may not get their copy until later. For sure our main game night will be on Saturday, probably at 9pm EST. Time may be adjusted if there's a better time for people.
