I looked up a bunch of stuff on Fortune Summoners and the only complaints seem to be "tedious" (like every platformer feels to me) and "too hard" (which is just a bunch of whinging). Gameplay looked pretty good, and the writing was said to be simple but charming enough, so I picked it up with Chantelise (funded entirely by card profits, of course).

There really aren't enough side scrolling action RPGs, so I feel it's worth $5.

Did someone say. summer sale?

Yeah, I read a couple reviews that whine about the unfairness of the game (controls delay, floaty jumps, prognosticator AI)... I'm still tempted by it of my steam friends only Flowette has put any real time in it. I was hoping to get an opinion from him or another CAG. $5 for a unique Dojin game seems well worth the risk in absence of further information.

I did, while I was castigating the lack of cries to wait for more than 50% off on the summer sale. I wasn't trying to yell fire in a crowded theatre.

Contemplating Knife of Dunwall DLC.. I really enjoyed Dishonored...
Knife of Dunwall is just as enjoyable as the main campaign. Four lenghty missions, two being new ones and two others revisiting places from the original game. You can't really go wrong with it.

Contemplating Knife of Dunwall DLC.. I really enjoyed Dishonored...
Stop contemplating and buy. The DLC has two really good new missions that highlight Dunwall life in ways that the main game didn't and another enjoyable rehash of a main game level.

Also consider the City Trials if you want. There's a huge grab bag of stuff to like if you thought the Dishonored mechanics were fun to play around with.
Sold, I'll grab it - thanks.

I guess I'm spoiled, but I'm disappointed that there haven't been any more games giving me free Steam Wallet money in the past couple of days.  DPsycho gotta get PAID, son.

If we do get new cards tomorrow, I'm going to go out on a limb and say Super Meat Boy, Garry's Mod, Torchlight II, and Orcs Must Die 2.

Super Meat Boy please. I wants more moneyz :bouncy:
A lot of people have that though, which would drive the value of the cards down almost immediately. Let's hope for a moderately rare game that we all still own. Coconut Queen, anyone?
Coconut Queen would be awesome, $4 per card ;)

We should email the developer to make that happen.

The Game would have to be big enough that people care about the badge. The only people who care about CQ is us. You want real money? They should add Secret of the Magic Crystals.

Nah, the less people that own the game, the more people are willing to pay for the cards.. All that matters is if the dev is willing to enable cards. Secret of the Magic Crystals was bundled, I think the cards would be worth less than Coconut Queen.

I know you weren't being serious though lol

Civ V with cards seems right to me. I'm calling that.

That's the first game I thought of when Valve brazenly thrusted this racketeering/trafficking/laundering feature right out in the open. Gabe makes Jahn Goddy look like a bitch.

I'm gonna vote for Everyday Genius Square Logic to get the next card set.  And the badge automatically gets you to level 50, and level 50 now has the added benefit of having your name on the Steam forums appear as a different color.  And my badge page gets bugged and I have 8,000 drops remaining.  Sounds good, right?

Looks like I own Trine 2 complete. I added it to the cart and when I couldn't purchase it for myself I realized I must have bought the DLC awhile ago...

FREE PLUG!

Thanks to the Enhanced Steam plug-in for Chrome, I was able to avoid the time-consuming process of adding the game to my cart only to realize I can't buy it for myself. If it's a game you're interested in, it's a pretty good deal if you can get in on a 3-pack with some others from the Steam trading thread.
Thanks for the plug. Didn't know about this plugin.

I'm kinda stunned that no one has made one peep of any of today's console announcements.  Some are already saying Sony won -- I agree, but I feel M$ has time to change their stance.

PS4

$400

No Sony restrictions on game lending or resale

Better graphics hardware (known prior)

No Internet connection required (though PS+ required for online multiplayer)

Xbox One

$500

M$ interdiction preventing game lending and person-to-person resale

Free Kinect required (for NSA's PRISM monitoring -- I'm kidding, or am I?)

Gaming functionality disabled if offline for 24+ hours

Full Disclosure: I have some bias to Sony due to access to Japanese titles, though my newest console is a PS2.  I have no intention of buying a PS4 or Xbox One.  #PCGamingMasterRace

I loved Recettear but couldn't get into Fortune Summoners. The floaty control complaints are justified, but that wasn't my biggest gripe.

The setting. "Omg I'm a schoolgirl! I can do magicks! I need to go to a special school for all kind of sorcery hijinks!" It was like a Japanified Harry Potter and I couldn't buy into it. If I want that experience, I'll probably just play Magical Diary and bait Motoki about his lack of achievements.

Five points to Hufflepuff.

I prefer the games MS showed but yeah... I would be worried about going to jail if I hit the wrong button or something. Terrible.

I dislike Sony's franchises and paying for online multiplayer and trading-in stuff to Gamestop. I like everything else though.

I can understand that. It's why I steered clear of exclusives/launch lineup -- it's subjective -- I'm not going to argue Halo VS Final Fantasy, etc. (besides we can all agree what really counts is racing games, right? ;)) On quantitative points like price or hard realities (I can't loan you my copy of X.) there is consensus on what's consumer friendly.

Wasn't Nintendo supposed to release a Wii replacement?

Sony definitely smashed MS's balls tonight. And while I'm excited that Sony isn't joining MS and implementing always-online or any fees for used games, I still probably won't buy a PS4. If I do, it won't be for at least a year or two after it comes out. I don't need to since almost all of the games I'm interestd in will probably come to PC at some point. Titanfall is already confirmed on PC (thank God, it looks awesome). Nothing's been confirmed about The Division, but I would honestly be surprised if there wasn't a PC version for that. Destiny might not get a PC release, and that's too bad, but it's not going to make me run out and buy a PS4. I'll still have plenty to play in its absence.

I didn't even know E3 started today until a buddy of mine started raving about all the horrible new Thiaf news. Still haven't looked at any of it myself, been dicking with World of Xeen.

Despite owning RotT from HIB 1 (or was it 2?) I've been waiting for those guys to run a good sale on a pack containing all of their games as I'd love to pick up Titan Attacks, Ultratron, and Droid Assault for cheap.  Never really seen anything other than 50% off sales.

Hell no, wait for 75% off, or better yet, 75% off at GMG. Seriously though, the game is good, but 33% off ain't shit, this is Steam son.

Ok i will wait! I just wanted to play the game. When will it be 75% off at GMG ?

Realistically it ain't happening for a while, Bethesda is stingy with the discounts, but you could at least wait for 50% or 66% which I think is virtually guaranteed before the end of July.

Okay, thanks for the pointers, everybody, but what the heck is a combo? I haven't gotten past the first level because I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing in order to get a 3-card combo.
It's just knocking three consecutive cards off the table without using your deck
Ah, thanks.

Not card related...Walking Dead DLC is coming!

http://www.ign.com/videos/2013/06/10/the-walking-dead-400-days-trailer

Now I understand why the main game was bundled for so cheap. I enjoyed it so much I might actually pay full price for this.
I'm not sure how I feel about this, actually. It's a strange idea to have this sort of interbellum between "seasons" and toss a random new story in between them with all new characters, but maybe it makes perfect sense considering the original medium is famous for this sort of narrative non sequitur. The trailer does look good.

#PCGamingMasterRace

Probably because this is the STEAM thread and everyone knew certain users would be quick to talk about the evils of consoles rather than have a balanced and informed discussion on it. I'd personally be a lot happier if the console discussion would stay in the console threads so PC gamers false sense of superiority could be tested and peacocked there rather than here. There's plenty of places on CAG and the internet to strut around in a flame war and declare your e-superiority, can we try to keep the Steam thread from being one of those places.
