Often overlooked, GoD are by default displayed in dollars both on Xbox.com as well as on the console, but on the very-first confirmation screen of the download process is the option to use Microsoft Points in place of real-world currency.

Through the console, after first selecting to download a GoD you are greeted by a familiar gray confirmation screen that pops up displaying the size of the download as well as confirming the price. At the bottom of this gray pop-up is the instruction to press the "X button" in order to change the payment type to MSP. Pictured below with an arrow:

Here is what Major Nelson posted:

Deal Of The Week Discount Dates Price
PopCap 18-Jun To 24-Jun
Zuma’s Revenge 400 (50% Off)
Zuma 200 (50% Off)
Feeding Frenzy 200 (50% Off)
Feeding Frenzy 2 400 (50% Off)
Bejeweled 3 600 (50% Off)
Bejeweled 2 200 (50% Off)
Bejeweled Blitz Live 200 (50% Off)
Heavy Weapon 400 (50% Off)
AstroPop 400 (50% Off)
do any of these PC games have online modes that are active? is bejeweled blitz active? i guess i could spend 66 cents on that, if it's a small filesize. but do the other bejeweled games have online modes that are more active?

also LOL @ crazy taxi still being 800 base price. great job staggering the lowering of the DC collection games when the disc has been $10 for two years. also beware the SA DX upgrade, mine works but i can't get the achievements in it, it's glitched. i'll finally grab sonic 1, 3 and k just out of pure convenience. 4 and generations were both terrible games in my eyes, netiher felt like the old school games at all, didn't like gen's physics.

jet set and nights both got amazingly unexpected patches by the way. they did fantastic work on both of those games.

oh and EVERYONE should own renegade ops at that price. add me on XBL if you want a coop partner, i am always down to play it and its dlc. awesome game.

So I didn't see anything I already didn't have or cared to own in the latest blog post, so I took the plunge on the Forza 4 Porsche Expansion at a whopping 1600 MSP. Good thing they were all free bing points. >_< All that to say, expect a permanent price drop or ridiculous sale on that content in the upcoming weeks. That's what happened when I got the puzzle quest 1 DLC - price drop came less than a month later. =/

Looks like a Sega GoD sale in general also CoD: Black Ops 1 DLC isn't a Gold only deal.

And the Gold exclusive DotW so far looks like...Another PopCap sale.

...

God fucking dammit. Really?
My biggest frustration with the PopCap sales are Astropop and Heavy Weapon. They're both pretty old and feature one-note gameplay, and could really use a permanent price drop to 400. Then during the next PopCap sale they could drop to 200 and I'd buy both of them.

As for the rest of the sales, I may buy a couple of the 160 MSP Dreamcast Collection games, since I sold my disc version a while ago. I found The Cave to be a very bland and boring adventure game, I didn't make it very far into it at all. Renegade Ops was decent and worth that price, but I didn't find it spectacular like some others did.

I agree whole-heartedly. They need to drop some of those older games down to 400msp. Heavy Weapon is sorta fun though in it's 1980s action movie nostalgia. But it's not worth more than 200msp.

Glad to hear your input about The Cave. I know it received a lot of mixed reviews. After reading your thoughts I've decided to wait until it hits 400msp before I grab it. I still have the two Monkey Island games to complete to enjoy some good ole Ron Gilbert on my Xbox. But I will definitely be downloading Renegade Ops soon. It only recently dropped down from 1200msp and so 320 is an easy buy for me.

Can I pipe in about the Condemned games btw? I'm not sure if anyone else had this issue but they are one of the few FPS on the current gen that really make me motion sick. I had to stop playing games in the late 90s once everything went FPS and didn't get back into gaming until late in the PS2 era because of that. Maybe it's just me. But there's something about that game that makes me really naseuous. I own both 1 & 2 and the same issue with both. Just thought I'd let people know that if you're a bit sensitive to that sort of thing like I am, it might be best to skip them.

I picked up Sega Bass Fishing, and Space Channel 5 Part 2. I am contemplating Renegade Ops, but I am running low on points and rather wait and see if something better comes a long.

OP is up to date for now. PopCap still has a few games that need to drop and hit Spylon's site, and possibly Sega too (I noticed Sonic Adventure 1 didn't drop in price, I assume it will) and I'll need to delete the old sales once they expire this afternoon.

Wonder if the Black Ops 2 sale next week will include a discounted GoD? Gonna pick up Bioshock for sure...bought a lot if those cheap points for the GoD version ;)

So much stuff on sale, only thing I really wanna bite on is Limbo for next week. I feel like I'm the only one around here who doesn't buy a game just because it's been discounted to less than 400.

Renegade Ops and The Cave = bought.

The Cave is a puzzle game, of course it's supposed to confuse you :) My son has asked me to get that game quite a few times in the past few months after we completed the demo. I told him as soon as it goes on sale. An amusing 2-D co-op puzzle platformer that's not too hard? Sounds perfect for those of us with younger kids to keep their mind from rotting over the summer.

After my purchase of Chronicles of Mystara tomorrow, I'm already starting to feel low/hesitant on points despite buying 13,200msp during the Microsoft crazysale (11 sets of 1200 for myself). I'm almost glad that next week's sale is junk. Almost.

I'm considering getting Sonic 4 Episode II since I have the first episode.

Maybe Jet Set Radio but I think I rather have it on my vita and Nights Into Dreams.

To me The Cave felt way more like an adventure game than a puzzle platformer. That's why I didn't care for it, I don't really like adventure games.

Hmm, so much stuff to debate between. Sonic Generations, the old Sonics, Sina Mora, Zuma's Revenge, and Renegade Ops all have me interested. Now I'm wishing I'd stocked up on points

I guess I'm the only one that absolutely loved the cave. I thought the puzzles were a lot of fun, but the story, humor, and way it was told was what really captivated me. I played through it three times, and still enjoyed it thoroughly. That said, it is most definitely an adventure game and NOT a puzzle game. Think Monkey Island or Sam and Max. The only real knock I have against it is the fact you have to play through it five times minimum if you want to see all the endings (I didn't even realize you could get good endings until I'd already completed my third run), and there really should have been a way to skip all the parts you already played.

There was also a lot of glitches, but I'm pretty sure that was because I played the PS3 version. I think for that price it's a great buy, and something completely unique and offbeat. If you like Double Fine, you will be able to look over the rough parts and see all the joy and love that was put into the game. If you don't have any real affinity for the developer, well, you probably won't get as much out of it. I got it from PS+, but had I paid 600 MSP for it, I don't think I'd be disappointed ;)

This is a great response. I've moved it to the third post of the OP under impressions (like I had thought about doing earlier). Now when people ask about The Cave for the whole rest of the week (which is almost sure to happen), we can direct them there or just re-paste it from there if we want.

The Cave grew on me - I expected a lot from Ron Gilbert and I think after playing through it with everybody it came fairly close to meeting expectations. It had some of that old adventure game feeling (especially the twins section). I think the bajillion playthroughs for all endings was a bit annoying, but so were old adventure games and it was kinda fun to see how fast you could cruise through sections you'd done before. I'd be interested to see a Cave speed run.

I never played Nights or Jet Set when they came out for the old systems. If I had to pick one which should I choose (to those familiar with these games)? Didnt Jet Set have a better sequel, maybe that will come out lateR?

yeah, I started to really blow through the early chunks with each new playthrough. I think my time cut in half both times. Definitely not a long game if you know what you are doing, but most adventure games are like that. I guess that somewhat negates the annoyance of having to replay so much of it, but I think something like a hub world where you can just play through the individual character's levels would have been a better choice than only being able to take three with you, or at least have the numbers of characters be a multiple of three so you didn't have to replay their levels. But I don't want to give people the wrong idea, so I'll end my little rant.

Thanks for giving me the honor of first impression tylerh, I really think it's a good idea after seeing all the people asking about games every week :)

Haven't played much of Nights, but Jet Set Radio is pretty bad ass. I had never played the game before this HD re-release and I really enjoyed it.

I played a bit of the Nights sequel on Wii, and it was horrible! I don't know if the original is that much better, but I'm not interested in finding out. I always get the Jet Set games confused, but IIRC the better one was Jet Set Radio Future on the original Xbox. I played a lot of that and really liked it, but I'm pretty sure the one on XBL is the dreamcast game and not the xbox one, which I've heard is far inferior. So I guess that doesn't help a whole lot, but if I had to pick I'd go with Jet Set, or even better just pick up a copy of JSRF on disc, as it is ridiculously cheap now ;)

Anyone have any thoughts on Game of Thrones for $10? Sorry if I missed a post. Not sure if it's worth it at that price.....
Definitely worth it at $10 if you're a fan of the books or show. Excellent story, sub-par to average everything else. But still extremely enjoyable for fans.

I bought Sonic 4 Ep 2, and now I'm really debating on whether or not I want to buy any of the PopCap or Sega Dreamcast games. They're already bundled on disc, and the Dreamcast Collection is only $7-something on Amazon already. Someone sell me on them? =\

All these reviews for "The Cave" has pretty much sold it for me. I love most of everything Double Fine does. Eventually going to grab "Psychonauts" off the marketplace so I can always have it available

It's been a while since last week's deals have run this late. Grabbed some Worms and GOME goodness at (seemingly) the last minute.

edit: Yeah, as literally "last minute" as possible... got GOME and Worms Revolution no problem, and then got the error message trying to pick up the original Worms. But hey, that's just another $2.50 that'll go to the compilation disc, whenever I pick it up.

edit 2: And a Worms Rev compilation disc is coming later this year... d'oh

Awesome, the Sonic Adventure 2 DLC is on sale.

& holy crap, Sonic Adventure is only $2, with the DX add-on only $1. Seriously good deal.

I was looking for the Sonic Adventure demo from the Marketplace and it says it's not available in my region... really? Region-exclusive demos for XBLA? :/

Also Renegade Ops is nowhere to be found on the website, I guess I'll have to turn on the console...

...not like there are links in the OP or anything :p

Ok, so maybe this is a little OT, but I'm hoping someone can help me out: I really didn't like Sonic Colors, but the demo for generations was a lot of fun. I just don't know if I will wind up getting a few stages in and start having colors flashbacks. Google is no help, as 90% of sonic fans are delusional, so if anyone here has played both could you give me your two cents? Is Sonic Generations a big step up from Colors, or is it more of the same just in HD?

Guess I shit the bed on Catherine, it won't go through on the 360, and it shows $40 at checkout on the website. No big deal. Picked up Sonic Adventure 2, Virtua Fighter, and Space Channel 5. Will pick up the VF5 customization if I think I'll play it for a little while, see how it compares to Soul Calibur V's Create A Soul, or TTT2 is probably a better comparison.

The Colors abilities only show up in the one Colors stage, Planet Wisp. I thought it was pretty solid on the 3D stuff. The speed boost button, bumper lane switching for forward segments, grinding rail swapping, and ability to drift all mesh pretty well with only a few minor frustrations for me.

Plus, half the game is 2D, set up with just your basic Spindash. I really enjoyed it, and I'm still working on the million challenge stages, some of which have gimmicks and the like. $10-20 is a good price if you like Sanic.

I didn't get very far in Colors before I quit and traded in (I didn't have any big problems with it, just took advantage of a nice TIV). I found Generations to be a huge improvement. The physics felt less floaty and the HD goes a long way to improving your enjoyment. The other thing this really has going for it is nostalgia. I played the genesis titles to death as a kid so seeing the levels redone really well in 2d/3d was awesome

It wasn't the colors abilities that I disliked, just the overall repetition and lousy level design. To be honest the only sonic games I really like are the older ones, and I wouldn't call myself a big fan. So basically, how is the level design in Generations? In colors it felt like many of the levels were cut and paste together like some weird littlebigplanet fan level, and the voice acting was annoying to no end. A

lol Sonic 4 Episode 2 seems to be gone from the german marketplace oO (and website) anyway I COULD unlock the full game in-game but I think I will wiat until they fix this oO

Also anyone who has Sonic Adventure 1 or 2 should buy the DLC at these prices

Thank you SEGA for picking up the ball this week and letting me spend some points finally. Got The Cave and Space Channel 5, was debating on Sonic 4 Episode II, but then I reminded myself I did not like Episode I.

I think everyone should buy Sonic Adventure 2.
All I remember about playing it on the Gamecube was "Jesus the camera is horrible" and "Goddammit! Another Knuckles/Bat with boobs level where I got to find gems?! fuck this game!" So not for me even at that price.

Based on the good things I'm hearing about Sonic Generations, I think I'm going to pick it up, along with Sonic 2 & Sonic & Knuckles. Are Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 worth getting if you still have both for Dreamcast that work fine?

Not unless you love both games that much that you're willing to play them all over again.

First off, i would like to thank the academy, My parents and my wonderful wife and son, and of course, Tylerh1701 and Cheap Ass Gamer, For this prestigious backlog of fantastic games that have been bestowed upon me this week.

Edit: This will mark the 3rd time ive bought Sonic Generations, now i cant trade it in again, and im happy with that. Finally. Its that good, but i always made my money back on it.

BTW: Am i the only one who is hot and bothered over Guardian Heroes being dubbed "on sale" when its been 400 MSP for awhile now?

Oh okay, wasn't sure if anything had changed between the Dreamcast and XBLA versions.

OP is pretty much completely up to date. XBLDB still hasn't picked up a few of the popcap games sales, even though xbox.com shows that they've dropped in price. If XBLDB doesn't get them soon, I'll go ahead and manually add them.

The Kinect Central deal this week is supposed to be Sonic Free Riders, but there is a random Kinect Sports Season 2 DLC on sale instead. Even though Sonic would sync up nicely with the rest of this week's sales, I think Major Nelson probably made a typo and we'll see Sonic Free Riders as next week's Kinect Central sales.

Oh, there's also supposedly a Adventure Time and MegaMan Avatar sale going on that I don't know anything about. XBLDB hasn't mentioned anything, but I'm not sure if it tracks Avatar items that aren't directly related to games...
