I don't think you're being "that guy" at all with the decision. I don't see why most 360 gamers wouldn't stick with MS now that MS is being less prickish. The kinect thing is still stupid, but who knows, maybe they'll revise that. Nobody will care about the flip flop they pulled after launch. The industry will just have to wait until next generation to lock them games down and put GameStop completely out of business.

I'm enjoying how easy it was for MS to sweep the rug out from under Sony. Sony had it coming after that cutesy youtube on game trading -- they were a little too eager to congratulate themselves for an unreleased console after fucking themselves in the ass with an existing console that completely failed to build on the best selling console of all-time. Now Sony actually has to play ball instead of putting all their eggs in the "customer first" basket and wearing a shit eating grin.
That's true, I guess I already have a Kinect 1 now and it's always plugged in so I'm used to having it, so I'm curious to try out a new version and am not against it like some people, although it really should be optional so people who don't want it don't have to buy it. I also agree with you about Sony thinking they won and celebrating too early, this was probably something they didn't expect and now hopefully it becomes a good battle so to say with them and Microsoft both showing off good reasons to get their consoles again.

At least GUNNM can go back to buying xbox hardware now. His Kinect will tell the NSA what he's up to.
That's honestly why I will never get one. I love my xbox and all but to have a camera constantly on me monitoring my heart rate and my facial expressions is retarded.
Same as above, I already have a Kinect and it's plugged in, yeah the new one has more in depth features, but if a big concern is that it's watching you, don't people think they already record you with the one that's out now? I know one of the big differences is how its "on" when the system isn't, but Microsoft has said you can change the settings for that, so yeah :p

You into spider man comics? I've been reading nothing but hulk this past month its a shame red hulk gets a lot of hate really like him
RULK SMASH >.< I like the color red more then the color green, due to that alone Rulk > Hulk, I do read some comics here and there though and have been a superhero fan long before the big movies started coming out.

well, if they are willing to backtrack on issues like drm/ used games. I don't see why they would not introduce another bundle at a sales price of $399.99, without kinect just to compete with sony on even playing field. I can even see them introducing a $299.99 xbone bundle with 1-2 years of xbox live requirement like the $99 bundle for the xbox 360.
I expect that to do the cell phone model for sure with the lower price and locked in live, not sure if they will sell one without kinect or not but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they eventually do make it not needed so that they can match Sony in price.

Left 4 Dead?
Yeah, that's about right...

I'm going to be that guy and probably stick with Xbox because I like the exclusives they showed more then Sony, and that's really all it comes down to for me, yeah I know it's 100 bucks more but I want to play the games I like with the controller I like, so yeah! The only thing that sucks is the digital family sharing system is now gone and I can't share games with my buddies without having to physically hand them the disc again, that's one feature I was actually looking forward to quite a bit, and now I'm not sure how running multiple games at a time will work since you need to have the disc in the tray....

That said, I'm sure I'll still get the PS4 as well, just might not get it at launch, depends on both money and 100% confirmed launch games!
You realize there was NO WAY IN HELL the family share would work like gamesharing did on PS3 originally, right?

I heard a rumour somewhere saying that if one person was playing the game from your family share, that was it. So it sounds like the rumoured Steam lending feature that was discovered yesterday. With that said, if there was no way for you and 10 friends to buy one copy of Call of Duty: Ghosts and all play multi together, I'm thinking family share would lose it's appeal to a lot of the people who thought it was awesome.

I'm sure you could get some use out of it, sure. But it was never going to be anywhere near as exploitable as people probably figured it would be.

And the Xbone 180 is going to work exactly like your 360, based on the statement. Which means if you buy it digitally, you can swap games whenever, but if you buy a disc, you need to swap them in and out.

Removing the DRM is a step in the right direction, and maybe I'll buy one someday... when it hits $200 after 2 redesigns and my cable company supports it.

Also, how do you know you like the controller better? Sure, you might like the predecessor better, but how do you know you'll like all the revisions or that the revisions to the DS4 won't make it better if you don't like the Xbone180 controller? :p

Are you sure you're not a fanboy?

Bingo.

It does play Netflix though. . .
BINNNNNGGOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

And yeah, sure it does, if you buy a Gold subscription.

Highly doubt it. It'd be like the Wii U saying "we're going to just release a bundle with the console and a classic controller pro, no gamepad." The Kinect is integral to their strategy and they're not going .

As for the subscription based thing, maybe there's some truth there.

I'm sorry you had to read those tie-ins. Civil War and Fear Itself had some god awful tie-ins. I'm glad Marvel is deviating away from that with Infinity.
I liked the Fantastic Four tie-in for Civil War. And for obvious reasons with my love of Kid Loki I really enjoyed the Journey Into Mystery tie-in to Fear Itself since it was the start of his arc (even though I still haven't bothered to read the event books for Fear Itself still because everyone says it's so terrible, haha). Now the AvX and Age of Ultron tie-ins, those were really pointless. The only kind of cool and memorable one from AvX was the Phoenix Iron Fist part of New Avengers, except that didn't really have anything to do with anything. Age of Ultron just feels like an awkward interruption in every series it's tied-in with.

Oh I fully understood what the family plan was, I wasn't expected it to be all amazing everyone can play one copy of the game like some people. Some of my friends don't live close to me, this would have been a great way to let them try/borrow my game without having to give them the disc, and a great way for them to try a game that they weren't sure they would have liked. Now they otherwise have to rent it or buy and hope they like it. So yeah, I never planned on exploiting it, just wanted to be able to lend games to friends without giving them the discs.

As for the controller question, I don't know 100% for sure, but from what I have read it's just a better designed 360 style controller, and I liked the Xbox controller more than the PS2 and the 360 controller more than the PS3 so I guess it's just something I expect to be true, DualShocks are usually too small for me and I don't like the shape, analog placement, triggers, or analog style as much. I use a third party controller on my PS3 currently that makes it more similar to a 360 one.

I totally forgot she was releasing an acoustic album for Siberia. I would rather she release new material, but it'll have to do for now.

Going to see if I finish up TLoU right now.

Well after Age of Ultron #10 today, the entire event is pointless. I'd remember the Hope/Iron Fist stuff if he didn't disappear off the face of the Marvel Universe after Marvel NOW!

Haven't gotten my comics for this week yet, going to get them after work, so I'll probably end up reading Age of Ultron #10 today or tomorrow, but I'm honestly not very surprised, it didn't really seem like anything very much could come out of this event.

I miss Iron Fist, I like his uniform colors.

Let me be clear -- I wasn't meaning that as "you" when I was talking about the family share stuff, just generically cause I see a ton of people on GAF bitching that losing the DRM meant losing the family share plan. And yeah, that kind of thing would be nice, but it's easy enough to GF or Redbox something, I'd wager. Hell, buy it used from GS, then take it back. If you like it, just make sure you order a copy from Amazon or some other retailer first. Not as convenient, but hey, not bad either.

Side note: I think if the Steam thing is true, friends of mine are going to love me. ^_^

Also, I won't have to buy DmC then... ever.

As far as the controller goes, the XBone180 has a lot of changes -- it's smaller than the 360 pad (not a lot, but still) and it has all sorts of weird new button placements and triggers... could be good, could be bad. I'm thinking I'll like the DS4 better myself, but again, judgement reserved until I can try them both out. Regardless, I just hope that Sony puts out drivers for them this time. :\

Yay, i love xbones change of heart on drm, because they are finally responding to the feedback of gamers. LOL. I guess i had nothing to do with the ps4/ sony.

Yeah, a lot of people were thinking the family plan was a lot better than it really was, but oh well, it makes sense why they won't have it now. I just have to debate between physical or digital because I like that game swapping feature of the One. Yeah I'll definitely try both controllers at some point at least, it could very well be possible I like the PS4 controller more, will definitely have to wait and see.

As for the Steam sharing thing, that's what I would have liked on the Xbox One lol, but same for me, I have a lot of games on Steam that I haven't played otherwise in a long time or ever, so if anyone wants to add me and "borrow" some of my games as well let me know :p

Honestly they all added nothing except wolverine. Seeing hulk go to x men mansion and then leave because of the gravesite of house of M was cool but un-needed. I don't even remember why moon knight had a tie-in. The one tie-in with civil war that was kinda cool was ghost rider but that lasted like 2 seconds.

The whole wording about this DRM is bullshit. ''We're happy to announced we've removed DRM at LAUNCH'' fuck outta here.

In the words of our illustrious president ''Fool me once shame on me fool me twice well you can't fool me twice.''

If you haven't read any before, starting at BND is probably okay. You might want to start with One More Day instead, though. Just so you know what led up to BND. You should also really check out The Other. That shit is amazing.
BND happens after civil war right? I read all of civil war and every tie in that it had so I'm pretty much caught up with what happened but I'll still read one more day
Yeah, both BND and OMD happen after Civil War. The Other happened like, right before, though. The Other is a pretty tight arc.

in other words, once microsoft get people buying the xbone, and establish a strong user base. They can turn around, and go back to imposing the drm again. LOL

So the reason why I don't like Sonic games is because they don't feel tight. They make it all loose Leda's VJ so that, I assume, it'll add to a sense of speed and not because they can't design a good platformer, but I feel like if I'm running at top speed I shouldn't be able to over jump platforms.

So do they not want me running at top speed? Shit's weird.

In hindsight, MS really should've done that in the first place: wait until all the happy Xbox fans bought up their $500 tvsportscalladuty box, then turned around and said, "well, now that you're invested in this, no more MS points and you can't own your software any more."  MS takes over the world and Mattrick is declared a hero (to his investors).

that is probably what they are planning to do, anyway.

Alright, I completed TLoU. Need a bit to let it sink in.

I loved it. The pacing was fantastic and IMO better than Uncharted 2's.

I'm not even sure that people know what pacing means anymore.

It's like the Citizen Kane of the elements of the medium.

I swear both The Last of Us and Mirror's Edge kind of make me feel like I'm terrible at games, haha. Like I have yet to do reasonable stealth yet in The Last of Us, basically I try and use stealth and then accidently screw up and alert everyone or walk into a room full of zombies and have them all attack me, haha. Doesn't help that I keep kind of trying to play the game like it's Batman, haha.

And in Mirror's Edge the controls still confuse me a bit and I don't feel like I'm playing the game well since I'm constantly losing speed and running into things. Also, I have trouble when I need to attack someone and forget what to press and do some silly slide maneuver and don't actually hit them.
That's how I felt playing Mirror's Edge also. Generally very disoriented and clumsy feeling.
So glad MJ's out of Spidey 2. That bitch is maaaaad ugly. She gained some serious weight, too.
Good. She was one ugly bitch. When the last MJ is seen as hotter then the new one there's a problem.

You into spider man comics? I've been reading nothing but hulk this past month its a shame red hulk gets a lot of hate really like him
I'm into all comics, but Spidey, X-Men, and Batman are probably the ones I know most about. I know just about everything there is to know about Spidey.

I like Rulk more now than when he first popped up, but I think that's mostly due to his not being written by Jeph Loeb anymore. Loeb sucks serious dick since his son died.

Joel, have you heard about a possible Ben Reilly sighting in Scarlet Spider?

I also need to buy that book.

Looks very nice.

I'll watch The Last of Us once someone puts it on youtube. $60 is too expensive for a movie.

it has already been on youtube for almost a week now.

I'm a big Mirror's Edge fan, but I don't think I could recommend anyone play it on a console. Game is a nightmare with analog.
i just cannot understand why they are even making a prequel for mirrors edge, wasn't the IP a total failure in terms of poor sales number.
