I made about $10 today, with the help my $5 Binding of Isaac foil. I still have 2 Crusader Kings cards to drop though, so here's hoping for a third foil.  :joystick:

 
So, I didn't join the beta. Played some BL2 today, gonna beat all the DLC's now that they're all out. Anyways, got my 3 drops (Axton, Jack, and Gaige)

Wanna know if they're any other CAG's out there like me who probably won't ever try selling. Might even buy some to craft some badges. Furthermore, will I be shunned here for not selling?  :)

 
I can't believe I did it, but I actually made a purchase (with free money) on the marketplace, and then crafted my first badge (for left 4 dead 2).  I took a chance and opened the booster pack I had and it put me only 1 card away. :) got a useless 50% off of Sniper elite Nazi zombie army that expires july 3,  i'm probably not gonna use it, so if anyone is interested, pm me.

I mean, I'm just using my card money to buy games that will sit in my inventory unplayed...lol... so it's really not much different than collecting cards. I did get some backgrounds too. Cheaper to buy them than craft them and I don't really care about the badges.

As far as I know, you are the first person to admit that they have no plans to ever sell anything. But several other CAGs have bought cards and crafted a bunch of badges, and at worst we laugh at them behind their backs. So you should be OK.

Honestly though, you might wanna think about selling off cards from games that you don't care as much about to help fund the badge crafting on the games you really want badges for.

BTW, off topic for this response, but this emoticon is really sweet. I must have it. Not at that price though. I'll wait until I can snag it at about 15 cents in GabeN bucks.

The past few major sales have included various "community" activities that lead to the current equivalent of a badge. Pretty good odds that one of those activities this year will be "Craft a Trading Card Game Badge."

Finally sold my $0.49 bought Psychonauts Figments Foil for $2.66. All things considered I'm happy with that.

Although strangely enough, I still haven't received my first foil drop from the 108 card drops. No booster packs either from my 27 eligible card drop games. My odds stink. :wall:

 
The day of the $10+ foil is gone.  Hell the day of the $5+ foil is probably gone.  Even COH2 cards are under $1 with most foils under $10 and that's a brand new 'AAA' game that hasn't had anything other than a preorder discount.  At this point I'm not going to bother with meta-gaming.  If a game I want has cards, great, I can play/idle for a few GabeN Bux.  If it's a game I don't want... not going to bother with it.

Not too bad. Somebody posted two copies of "Raz" the Rare emoticon for Psychonauts earlier tonight for 13 cents. I was able to grab them both, and I managed to sell one of them for $2.61. I'm trying to sell the other one as well, but the market is starting to collapse. So it's gonna be for a good bit less.

Still, a nice day's work for both of us.

I sold a CKII foil earlier tonight for $4.99, so I think the ~$5 foil is still alive. You just have to be lucky.

I love how the beta foil emoticon first sold for something like 60 cents. There's no way to get those unless you were in beta, so why the hell would you go for 60 cents? Why not $1.60 at least? When you decide to price shit so cheaply, you end up screwing us all. Except for The End, who plays the card market for high profits.

not enough crashing imo, I'm out of "cheap" badges to get

For anyone crafting badges, when do your coupons end? They were running up till the 10th of July for me before but the one I crafted today ends the 4th of July for some reason which is suspicious. They also moved Brave New World to the 12th instead of the 11th  I think.

The coupons don't stack with sales so I don't see why that should be related to the Summer Seal but who knows.

Yesterday I got a CK II drop "The Feast (Foil)" -- sold it for $15. After fees, got 13 in Gabenbucks. Felt good.

Tower Wars cards still sell for around $.50-.60 each, giving me another $2.50 after acquiring a key for that. Been a pretty lucrative time on steam lately.

I'm up to $80 in Gabenbucks, all ready to own the Steam Summer Sale (whenever it happens).

$1.50 for Paradox from that sale alone, I have to imagine developers will be excited to participate in this trading card thing, it's probably a nice supplement.

 
I was thinking the same thing. Cards are another way for devs to profit off their games, so it's surprise you don't see more scrambling to get them out seeing as they raise the value of the game in the player's eyes and make them money directly too.

Not soon enough. The weak-discounts-on-crappy-games coupons they've been giving me are cluttering up my Inventory. I want an option to delete.

Besides, all of them say they can't be combined with any other discount, so I don't know how much I'd read into the dates.

For those conspiracy-minded among us, I've got one that expires Mon Jan 01 2018 02:59:00 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time. :whee:

And if you perform the activity now, it'll already register. There are a lot of very cheap emoticons and backgrounds if you haven't got any yet. For me all that'll be left is the "craft a badge" one.

The Psychonauts badge from crafting cards is disappointing. Would've been better if they used camp style badges, like the game, rather than character badges.

I believe the developers themselves handle putting the materials together for cards/badges and Valve just implements it in the system.

I'm not 100% on that, though.

At this point I'm not going to bother with meta-gaming. If a game I want has cards, great, I can play/idle for a few GabeN Bux. If it's a game I don't want... not going to bother with it.

I was happy to get 10 dollars for my Faerie Solitare foil, now they can be had for 3 bucks.
