I guess I'm not seeing the definition of broken and unbalanced as you guys are viewing it.
Joel and Frost, please elaborate on what you saw when I was playing it. I think that would be a pretty good definition of what is broken in the game.

Oh, I've seen all the broken stuff that you guys are talking about. However, I never came across any of that when I played, either by accident or on purpose. Every hack and slash is gonna have bullshit like that; you just gotta deal with it.

Now I'm going to be needing you to elaborate on this one. You never came across it? They gave it to you, how did you not run into it? The huge parry window with the scythe, the jump cancels with no sense of gravity, the demon dodge, etc.

Staying in the air for an entire fight through an easily exploitable combo which you used to kill everything in the room or jumping into the air and flying through entire areas?

Hell, I've got one for you: When I played the game it crashed and froze my PS3 6 times before I finished the fucking second chapter. NT can eat the biggest bag of dicks. That shit's just unnecessary.

As for the Borderlands 2 DLC, the new heads that they were supposed to add with the Tiny Tina DLC was supposedly patched out so they could "do something special" with it, so I'm betting that's going to become some more pay DLC so they can milk it even more. Soooo, fuck Gearbox. I'm getting tired of more DLC popping up for this game every time I start it up.

Finally got to play MK9 for PC online. Way better than the console versions, but still not great.
I saw an invite from Hank, but by the time I got in there, it said it was invalid.

fuckin' A. When will people learn? :wall:

Enslaved didn't steal the story from DBZ. It's a retelling of Journey to the West (and several other stories) that DBZ also did.

I honestly have nothing against Ninja Theory. I enjoyed Enslaved. It was worth the 15 bucks I paid for it and I'm still a huge fan of DmC, and I'd like to see another one. Who the shit cares about balance and brokenness in a hack and slash. This ain't a fighting game.

Also, should I get SMTIV? I've never played a SMT game before so there is that.
Depends on your definition of "Hack and Slash".

DMC3/4 are action games.

Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden, MGR:R, God of War -- action games.

DmC was a musou game.

Prediction. The next Batman game will be called Batman: Arkham Revelations.

You know it's true.
For some reason I thought they said this was the last one? At least the games are still good...

So if DmC gets a pass on its complete lack of fundamentals, what hack and slash would you consider bad?
See above.

Dmc was pretty good, I dont like Bayonetta at all. I wanna see a Heavenly Sword 2 on ps4 :O
No. Just no.

Welllll.... you already kinda got HS2 -- aka DmC.

I didn't mind the HS characters -- well, except Kai... fuck your Twing Twang.

Maybe if someone else developed it, since Sony owns the IP, I think.

I guess I'm not seeing the definition of broken and unbalanced as you guys are viewing it. Sure, yeah, get rid of the bugs, glitches and all that shit; that shouldn't be in any game and patch it out if they are there. But the whole point of hack and slashes-- good ones, at least -- is to fuck as much shit up as possible and deal mass amounts of wanton destruction. Of course, elements from other genres like RPGs and platformers are going to be tossed in there to spice the genre up. I had no problem with the core gameplay with DmC, because it felt fluid and free-flowing to me.

I can't say I've really considered a Hack and Slash game bad since the days of Lament of Innocent and DMC2. I may not have liked the stories and characters in DMC4 and MGR:R, but I still found them fun to play. I just enjoy them for what they are.
Apparently Hack and Slash = Musou + Action games?

Don't forget the shit where he just stood there spamming the little blue throwing weapon for a 700 hit combo and the hit stun was so bad that the enemies couldn't move.

I don't recall any of that stuff. Of course it could have happened seeing how the game is one frantic piece of work, but it's not like I went completely out of my way to use the shit. And I beat the game twice. The game also never crashed my 360 or PS3.

If your standard for a hack and slash games is "let me fuck shit up," then I guess I see why you enjoy it. For me it's the way I get to fuck shit up, and in DmC's case it really didn't offer many interesting options. Sidestepping blind charges, color matching, and offering no enemies to punish airborne abuse pretty much created a game where all you could do was style on combo fodder. But it didn't mean anything to me. There wasn't really any styling going on. It was like dunking on a FisherPrice basketball hoop, you know?

How do you not recall the basics in the game? It's not like you purchase the weapons, that shit is given to you. Jump cancels being broken I could give you if you never bought it, but the weapons? Oh yeah, forgot to mention, parry is something you have immediately.

Hell, that's not even one of my biggest issues with the game. The higher difficulties were shit because they just threw more color coded enemies at you. A game that's about free styling action limiting your moveset? What a brilliant idea! Old DMCs made it so that certain enemies were weaker to some weapons, but DmC flat out refuses to let you attack them unless it's an angel or demon weapon when they're color coded.

Sounds like you're having more of an aesthetically pleasing problem with the game. The whole point is Dante is basically earning the weapons (not unlike previous entries in the series!). And yeah, the color coding thing was rather boring, but this isn't old DMCs. I'm not saying the game is perfect or even great, but it appealed to me, both aesthetically and emotionally. Sure it's not Devil May Cry or DMC3, but really, what is?

But I'm done. I'm over it.

I think that maybe he thinks you're complaining because you like the look of some weapons more than others and it bothers you that you can't use what you want all the time.

... Huh?! What? You're going to need to explain this one to me. I didn't even talk about aesthetics.
You mentioned older DMCs so I guess that implied you were jaded or sore about the shift in direction that DmC took with the characters and look. A lot of people who hate on DmC do it for this reason, so I don't blame GhostShark for jumping on that, but really, DmC is bad enough that we can rip it on its own merits. No need to compare it to different games.
Like, the weapon comparison thing was a bit unfair, since it does make sense in DmC that Dante earns the weapons by rediscovering his past and all, and NT built the game around the Angel and Demon effects. Doesn't mean they did built it well. The movesets were almost completely useless (NT was more concerned about what barriers you could smash in), the color matching was asinine and limiting, and the flood of weapon options basically guaranteed you a SSS rank on any launch because the general game strategy was to variety mash through all your weapon types (while airborne, which you were all the time).

That would be a weird complaint, but I could see how you could confuse one weapon for another considering how similar some of their movesets are.

My complaint with the weapon comparison was that in DMC it let you attack the enemy with them even if they weren't weak to it. DmC just flat out says "fuck you" and bounces your ass off of them. Even if you take that part out, my complaint is still valid because it's meant to be a free style action game, yet it limits your already limited moveset.

For the record, I've been saying since the first trailer that I don't give a damn about how the game looks, I only care about how it plays. I don't care about what direction they took the characters and stories in. What I do care about is giving the franchise to a developer that is known for bad gameplay.

I hate it when people are nice just for the sake of being nice and don't actually fuckin care. Like, just say no or that you don't give a fuck. Don't talk to me 'just because' I'm talking to you. Have some fuckin interest or drop it. I'd rather have that then to have to keep fuckin guessing.

Shit's not worth my time.

Whatever, I'm over it.

I don't feel like talking to you right now.

If  I had a phone I would totally give you my number. Did you not see my post about a broken galaxy S3? I was pretty specific about which phone and how it broke. Me and Mociwe dawg went into in depth discussion over it.

I don't know last thread maybe? I tried to fix it but I need a $200 part.

No insurance on it = GG. Ask frosty.

GUNNM Dawg isn't on. Joel's not answering my party invites.

I think I'm just going to go to sleep.

Today has been pretty disappointing all around.
