There are quite a few free and free2play games and mods on steam. You can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

Well, no drops after an hour of idling and no inventory yet?  Think I will take a short break and see if the inventory comes back and then  get back to idling.

Finally, got my first McPixel drop at an hour 10 in. And of course current prices are a quarter. Hopefully they'll stabilize in a few days, I'm not normally a gambler so avoiding the urge to try and sell even for dirt cheap is challenging

I'm at 52 minutes for McPixel and have 2 drops. Each card only has 30-some (or less) on the market, and they're already at 25 cents or less. Only 3 foils that will never sell at the listed prices.

Has anyone actually pulled a foil from a booster? Didn't think I saw that mentioned here at all.

My inventory is still viewable, weird :whistle2:k

Good to know. The first level, the asylum stuff, really bothered me. I played maybe a couple hours of the game and uninstalled it, feeling kind of ill. Tim Burton-ish I can do, but not this stuff.
the burton look was exactly what drew me to play it as well. Needless to say, it was quite a ways off from what I was hoping for :cold: I don't even remember the asylum at the beginning of the game, and was more referring to the mushroom area that acted as a tutorial of sorts. The asylum part I remember was a lot further in, and was where the game seriously lost me:

sorry if it been said before just got a booster for triple town  just idling in steam while i surf the web did not know that could happen sold for $2.50 which is nice

yes it been said before you not need to be in game to get booster good job selling for 2.50 that is nice

Didn't say I didn't like them and didn't have fun watching them, but they're really low budget and a lot of them are really badly done. Some of the stories are solid, true, but it really still did feel like quantity over quality. And you're obviously older than me, but I don't think you're quite old enough to have "grown up watching them" back when they were new either. ;) We both came into the old series late...

One of these days I'll watch the newer older ones, though. I've heard good things about them.
I actually did grow up watching the ones you said you haven't seen, at least the ones I could. We started getting the series with the Tom Bakers on our PBS affiliate here and I watched those religiously (almost literally religiously). I also saw the Jon Pertwees in reruns. The serials from the '60s were before my time and weren't shown in America until many years after the original broadcast (after the Beeb in its infinite wisdom had purged a few of the Bill Hartnells and the majority of the Patrick Troughtons).

That makes more sense. I was talking about the 60s ones, so that's what I thought you meant when you were talking about me not growing up watching them, lol.

By the way, my personal policy of "liking" a post is when a post is something that I find helpful, or something that I agree with, or that I find humorous. Another sure-fire way to get a like out of me is if somebody has done something for another CAG, or displayed some form of generosity.

I bring this up because i occasionally remember some post from days past that fits into one of these categories. Case in point, Draekon's great steam gift giveaway a year and a half ago. I just tracked down that thread and gave him a few likes. Anybody who remembers that, and got something from him might wanna think about doing the same.
Well now I'm going to have track down Motoki's post where he introduced us to Coconut Queen. That was just short of epic and deserves a like or two.

If anyone was wondering how people manage to list their cards on top of yours, even if your card was listed first at the same price.. I found this post on SPUF that's pretty informative:

Currency rounding.
Lets say that for example 1€ = $1.000001. In that case listings from USA of $1 are taken as just $1, however when you put your item for sale for 1€ it's in fact $1.000001, which is sightly more than $1.
So your item will be 0.000001 more expensive than items from USA listings and will be ordered accordingly (the last as it's more expensive) but due to rounding to $1 you'll think both should be the same.

Note: this is an exaggerated example.

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=34643676&postcount=2425

So basically, there's no way around it aside from pricing your cards lower than theirs.

If I don't get a card within 30 minutes, I restart all the games. That usually does the trick.
I was going to try that, but I've restarted Steam several times, updated Steam, and still can't even see my Steam inventory at all. I just see my random game inventory (TF2, SMNC, etc). Can't even see my Steam inventory through the website. I'm sure it'll come back eventually, I just feel its pointless to run the games if I can't even see my inventory.

No offense, but fuck you! :p The music is awesome!
I was playing the tutorial, and if you think this is awesome... well, I don't know.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_Zhd9rH8po

Hopefully it gets better, since the game seems fun. Otherwise I'll just mute it and play my own stuff, I guess.

I used to be OCD, but I find I make about 30% more Gaben bucks if i just set a price a bit higher then what the market is and wait a day, it almost always sells within 24 hours.

If memory serves, Motoki didn't actually find Coconut Queen. Motoki's just the guy who made it a thing.

That's probably worth a like, but it wont really be something you can track back to a single post by Motoki. More like a series of posts.

Looks like a server side glitch because I can't see your steam inventory as well. I guess the only solution is to wait.

id rather just come here and bitch about how much better steam sales were 3 years ago and buy a shitty indie bundle ill never play

I always felt that the only good thing about Tim & Eric was Dr. Steve Brule. All of their other stuff wasn't really that funny.

Looks like DOTA 2 is finally out of Beta.
My god...the horror...

Pretty solid list. A buddy of mine and I actually made a Half-Life mod, back in the day, called Red Justice. It was pretty terrible awesome.

Apparently it's still listed at FilePlanet http://www.fileplanet.com/78158/0/0/0/1/section/Mod_Files

We were even a Featured Mod on Planet Half-life back in 2006! http://planethalflife.gamespy.com/View.php?view=HLMotw.Detail&id=113

:twoguns:

So much Half-Life nostalgia. I had invested hundreds of hours in finding and playing the latest and greatest mods on that bad boy. Also, spent way too much time playing the original NS back in college.
Wow, Canada, and here with a name like Red Justice, I was imagining some sort of super Soviet soldier game of spreading communism to the masses, influences the new breed of street justice, hammer and sickle style!

Hurrah! No more beta invites cluttering my inventory!
NOOOOO, all the precious pennies I could have made on the market!

MrNinjaSquirrel... prepare yourself... you should have 10 days food, drinks, and caffeine pills on hand. ...and vodka, lots of vodka. Without wikis in CAG 3.0*, you're going to have to take full responsibility for keeping the OP up-to-date. ...otherwise there will be popular support for a military moderator coup.

*clearly an authoritarian move
oh my, I forgot about wikis not being back yet...I hope you've been saving up your vacation time...

At least we know you're ready and dedicated to the cause

Oooh, free slurpee day. I'll feel a little guilty since I'm friendly with the 7-11 owner, but he'll understand me not buying anything that time... or every time I go to red box... or every time I go pick up my Amazon packages... or every time I go shoplift ...
mmm, always do love me a good ole' shoplifting, too bad there are no 7-11s near me...oh well, guess its just gonna have to be money exchange for me

These games now have Trading Cards, Emoticons, Profile Backgrounds, and Badges to collect:

  • Dungeons of Dredmor
  • DARK
  • The Night of the Rabbit
  • McPixel
  • Drunken Robot Pornography
  • Ion Assault
MCPIXEL!

Alright, who wants in on a Robot Porn three pack? 6.66 and a nood will get it for you.
Three pack, or three way? \:D/ :^o :robot: \:D/

EDIT: WTF CAG 3.0, I WANT MY ROBOT SEX ROMP, why must everything be broken!!??

Well now I'm going to have track down Motoki's post where he introduced us to Coconut Queen. That was just short of epic and deserves a like or two.
You do so! Motoki is a deserving fellow!

If memory serves, Motoki didn't actually find Coconut Queen. Motoki's just the guy who made it a thing.

That's probably worth a like, but it wont really be something you can track back to a single post by Motoki. More like a series of posts.
Are you serious, how dare you even question our lord and savior?! Motoki gave pretty much all of us Coconut Queen! His actions should be held in the highest of gratitudes!

Hey all, I pushed a few changes to SteamPlaytime. (Can't post the link because I'm still a CAG noob -- you can either look earlier in this topic to find the url, or somebody else will be a kind soul and post it.) You can now choose to filter out multiplayer only games. It'll default to it NOT including them, but you can press that big blue button if you want to see them again.

I basically just went through and took note of the most popular MP only games I could think of, but will be adding more as they come along. Here's what I have:

Dota 2
TF2
Counter-Strike (and its variants)
TF Classic
Tribes
PlanetSide 2
Chivalry
Killing Floor
Mount and Blade
Day of Defeat
Awesomenauts

Garry's Mod (not MP, but you don't beat it, and HLTB has it stored as 500 hours, which screws with things.)

Anyway, if you notice any bugs or would like a MP-only game added, let me know. It also might be a tad sluggish currently, but I'll be tweaking performance over the next while. Trying to get things at least somewhat more functional before the Steam sale, so everybody can use it feel ashamed of all their purchased during the next week or so. =P (And once again, I'm definitely open to any suggestions on improving the site.)
