Whippersnapper. Also I really felt Witcher 3 never hit that sweet spot of just right challenge for me, On easy it was brainless and boring. I played until on normal until that first fight with Letho and he was just massively cheap and impossible, then I switched to easy and it was oddly enough too easy as he basically stood there while I hit him til the fight was over.

Witcher 3 came out already? Or are you just a Time Traveller?

I play Animal Crossing pretty much every day, but it's good for about an hour or two, not any lengthy sessions.

are the disgaea series hard? all i know is it is is like board/grid turn based game.
I'm not sure I'm the best person to ask since (1) I love strategy RPGs to begin with, (2) Disgaea is one of my favorite games of all time, and (3) it's been a long time since I last played any of them.

However, from what I remember, the difficulty of the Disgaea games is average (for SRPGs), though they can seem pretty overwhelming with the sheer amount of stuff that's in them.

It's a hard game to explain the appeal of. It's the first I played in the series as I always thought it looked dumb. Also never played Harvest Moon, Farmville or that stuff. I did try the Sims (on PS2 I think) and didn't like it. That's way more complicated than AC, and gets frustrating micromanaging shit.
You should check out the original Harvest Moon sometime. There's much less stuff to do (and the translation's pretty janky), but it's quite relaxing if you're ever looking for more of that.

the only other issue with animal crossing is that it is only the 3ds handheld platform only right? i get terrible eye strain/ tiredness, when playing games on the handheld for more than 2 hours. i have no problems playing games through consoles on tv for more than 2 hours.

I've played through 3 of the main Disgaea titles (3 never really hooked me for some reason) and really enjoyed them, but I also never got into their more complex systems like leveling items & equipment.

Like Erad30 said, Animal Crossing is an hour-a-day type of game.

i just know it looks similar to Record of Agarest War. lol

IMO, Link's Awakening may very well be the best 2D Zelda game.
Not sure where the Oracle games come in, only just got those and will have to check them out soon.
Minish Cap is also up there.

I can see why someone would want to play a Zelda game again every once in awhile and same with the Mario game... but a party "fighter" from the late 90s/early 00s? Even if it had a few things that people were missing from more recent entries, I don't see why anyone would want to go back to that... people aren't playing Smash N64 competitively these days -- or even Brawl. Now if it were Melee up there, I might agree with you even though I'd still have taken the Zelda game as my prize.
You think Links Awakening is better than Link to the Past? Maybe it's because I played LTTP after LA, but I definitely enjoyed LTTP way more.

I swear, every steam sale I play an hour of Killing Floor and love it. And then proceed to not play it until the next steam sale.

Exactly. Though I've done some longer sessions dicking around organizing my house after doing the daily stuff (fossil digging, shopping, beetle catching etc.). Will do so more once I start putting paths through town etc. I could see artistic types spending hours designing things as well--have seen some amazing custom posters, murals etc. in some fellow CAGs towns.

But yeah, most days I'm just popping on for 30 minutes to an hour in the morning over coffee and doing my daily shit. And I love that.

Otherwise I'm like the above and like to have a solid 2-3+ hours if I'm going to play something like Last of Us or what not (in the middle of a session currently).

Yes.

And Killing Floor is awesome. I plan on playing it a lot once I have a PC that runs it better.

Many games simply play better on harder difficulty these days, since the default Normal is more accommodating to new gamers. It's not really about challenge more than it is about making the game more engaging. 'Hard' isn't hard on Tomb Raider, but it does make you move from cover more frequently, for example. I just think that sort of thing makes a game more enjoyable.
In some cases I definitely agree with that. I've played many games where "Normal" is incredibly slow and unchallenging, in which case I'll definitely up the difficulty a little.

I usually play on the default, but if that's too squirrelly, I have no shame in dialing that down.
Witcher 2 has to be the first game in ages I've turned down the difficulty on as usually I have no issue adapting strategies to get past whatever part I get stuck on in a game. The only other game I remember having issues in the last year or so was Borderlands series but thats an easy fix as I just changed my gun loadout.

I never really turn down the difficulty, but I never turn it up on the first PT. Some games, like DmC and the ME/DA series, I will often turn up on my second (and subsequent) PTs to enjoy the games with more of a challenge.
This is usually what I do too. In playthroughs of Mass Effect, Halo, etc I love turning up the difficulty on extra playthroughs as it adds a whole new challenge to the experience. If I'm replaying a game I already love the setting for it so an extra challenge isnt a bad thing.

I didn't know Whoknows started a petition.

I also like Killing Floor and I also lack a computer that runs it well enough that I feel comfortable playing it.

On the subject of difficult games. Started my ultimate ninja run on Razor's edge. I already can't pass the first screen. Fun.

Too much Nintendo talk in here.
I thought it was kinda nice to see for a change!

The fact that game was created by just one guy (not counting the audio producers) is an amazing feat.

Okay, I broke down and bought Dark Souls. Why the heck is this happening?
Yeah, it's cool that it was mainly one dude, as for Dark Souls, they always get you on the comeback! Oh you kinda want this game but decided to hold off 2 days ago? Well, you're in luck, it's on sale again! Commmoooonnnnn

1000 hours into the SFIV series, 1000 into LoL, something similar into both WoW and Counter Strike. Then Diablo 2, Warcraft III, and Tribes 2 are probably up there somewhere, too.
I quoted this one since it said 1000 instead of 100, I've easily put that many hours into the Halo series, Diablo 2, and Half-Life/Sven-Coop, I wish there was a way to check for sure with game time in my older games and for new games I started using Raptr pretty late and it says I only have 220 hours in Halo Reach and that was towards the end of me playing Reach when I got Raptr :/. I also have multiple hundred hours into Monster Hunter as well, I get a lot of good sessions into the games I like :D

If someone wants to try this it is out on the Wii VC, I have almost all of the games in the series and it's definitely a fun little relaxing game to play! The Rune Factory games are awesome as well, which are pretty similar but add some RPG stuff on top.

Link to the Past was awesome, but so was Links Awakening, I probably like LTTP more, but there are a lot of good Zelda games that come really close in rankings IMO

what characters did you have when you played diablo 2?

what characters did you have when you played diablo 2?
Oh man, I had multiples of all the characters, the three I put the most time into were probably my Necromancer, my Druid, and my Sorceress, there really wasn't a class I didn't like playing as....if I had to pick a least favorite it was probably otherwise the Assassin or the Paladin.

i main played the amazon, barbarian, and use the sorceress as magic finding gears, because of teleportation. I enjoy doing the cow levels. lol

Yeah, trying to run it on my fucking netbook? It kind of works, but I think it would chug like whoa when shit got intense.

I guess.

If Left 4 Dead wasn't shitty that is.
Pretty much this. I like Killing Floor better than L4D, especially L4D2.

I wouldn't think that Killing Floor would be all that GPU intensive.
It's intensive enough if you're rolling with a netbook. :p

Yep, I had a teleportation/magic finding sorceress as well, and I ran the cow level a lot......it was fun times!

After playing some Killing Floor last night I honestly feel like it doesn't even hold a candle to L4D or L4D2. But since those games are built entirely around teamwork and seeing crazy shit I can understand how it's a highly subjective experience. Plus, I fucking love Nick and Ellis. I spent way too much time playing both games with purple hair girl.

guys, this is my new jam :3

Oh yeah, we played that once. We started closing doors on each other and welding them shut.

Scrubs was like my favorite show for the first 6 seasons, then it kind of got terrible starting with Season 7...

Lux, this is for you.
Can you stop trying to push on Lux?

It's kind of weird.

And arkward, you know, considering...

Doesn't beat the original...
Agreed.

I think I was there.

Was I there?

I feel like I was there. Those sound like some shenanigans that I would start.

I had a problem on a test once because I couldn't spell "techniqually" right because I always spell it wrong on purpose.

Whatever, it's no big deal. I still got a B.
