BTW On the subject of Gamestop stickers, i swear they grind up horses in the backroom for the glue. its like 98% Glue, to 2% tissue paper and ink.
The newer square stickers are MUCH better than the old rectangular ones, but the major factor in sticker removal is still age. The longer it sits there the harder it will be to get off.
that's what she said

I will say that the two worst places for sticker residue are/were GameCrazy (RIP you superglue sticker mother fuckers) and a local record/game shop in my area that uses real paper stickers three times the size of the GS ones. I straight up replace those cases as I know there's no getting them off without destroying the plastic.

I still think AWD's stickers are tougher to take off.

Oh and just a heads up to some of you buying a ton. Some of these games arent even worth $3. Beware what you buy! Haha. Lair and a few others come to mind...
Alot of these games on the list go for $3.99 regularly. Good point Stellar. So CAGs, dont feel like your missing out on a "Deal" in most cases if you don't take advantage of this sale. (though i have got to admit "Dark Void" is a Phenomenal game for anything under $5, i'm having a blast with that game, shame i didnt get it earlier.) And For those wondering, "Blacksite Area 51" was the worst 5 hours i spent playing a game in a LONG TIME. So dont bother. (i wanted to like it, but was HUGELY disappointed, i totally beat it the same day i bought it and exchanged for a better qualifying game).

Ewww I hated those GameCrazy stickers... Ive gotten a couple games from them that had stickers on the disc! That shit used to erk me. I remember the stickers at this record store that used to be in the mall ( cant remember the name atm )... Those were also a pain... Big ass stickers its like WTF are you people thinking. AWD has some crazy sticky ass stickers though

The only way to get rid of sticker residue on a "Game Crazy" case it to set it on fire, but all thats left afterwards is the sticker.

While were on this continuing collectors subject, the best way to remove Permanent Marker from old plastic game Cartridges (such as Nintendo and Sega and Handhelds) AND current gen plastic cases, is Magic Eraser.

You have to be careful with that too since it can ruin the texture of the plastic. I find the shiny smooth ME spots to be far uglier than the marker. I personally use unscented baby wipes followed by a damp+dry paper towel combo...it doesn't really get marker out but it'll clean up any residue no problem. Also, you absolutely HAVE to get the Mr. Clean branded ones; the generics are too coarse and will definitely ruin the plastic. /someonewhoboughttoomanythriftstorecarts

This is also the best way to destroy old plastic game cartridges. It's essentially sandpaper.

I'm going to need some help from you CAGs on what order I should play these games in. Here is the list of games I got (all with cases and most have the book except for Top Spin 3 and Red Faction: Guerrilla):

20130822_200956.jpg

Which of those would you play first?
a ton of those are so short you could have beaten them and returned them within the 7 day limit. some good choices like heavenly sword i see though

Got Chronicles of Riddick, Golden Axe and Armored Core 4 complete. Couldn't find Overlord, Last Remnant or Infinite Undiscovery. They didn't have about half the games on the list. See what's there next week.

They can look it up by your phone number
That's what they did. Thank you

Eye of the beholder. Of course I realize that these are all games that I'm buying exclusively to play since I will be lucky to get $3 for them as a lot on eBay.

I thought he meant they are currently priced at $3 and under, which some games on the list are
That and some are just plain shit. I wouldnt play them again if someone payed me. And I say that about very few games (lets just say I enjoyed Brink and RE:ORC). Also I have beaten over 600 games so that says something.

I feel some CAGs just enjoy adding to their backlogs to be honest and have no intention of playing some of these among others. Basically hoarders of the video game world.

Personally, I just bought some to trade into amazon and get a free game. The second time around I just bought some games just because there were some on the list that seemed interesting, either way 9 bucks is whatever. I had credit from games I traded in so basically, the day and the life of a CAG is great. Haha.

Yes I dont see anything wrong buying some (I bought 6 and im done I should probably mention that 2 went to amazon). Thats not my point. But buying a ton. Thats just.....yea. I think those people have buying issues. And then those same people complain about a backlog in every thread...

I know what you mean lol, I bought alot of games on the xbox sale they had at Microsoft last black friday. I didn't even play any that much, just borderlands 2. I don't know why its addicting but yeah I do regret a lot of game purchases.

Who knows though maybe there trade in value will go up in the future lol

picked up complete copies of Riddick, Ninja Blade, and Star Wars Clone Wars.
Riddick seems like a popular choice
Thanks OP!
I heard solid things about Riddick, especially the Butcher Bay portion of the game.

Now that I've started myself...I'm a bit turned off on the game. At first it seemed like a decent game, doing side quests and helping out, and then I'm just thrown into the prison not knowing really what to do and having to fight everyone I come across. And the gunplay seems feels stupid.

Not to mention, every enemy seems to see me, and there doesn't seem to be a stealth option out of most predicaments.

Maybe that's just me though..

Picked UP:

Alpha Protocol

Dead or Alive 4

Little Big Planet

The Last Remnant

Chronicles of Riddick

I was actually looking for the two Conduit games but came up empty handed. Luckily when I got there they we're throwing away DS boxes, so I was able to get about 9 cases, some with Club Nintendo codes! :)

Picked up Red Faction: Guerrilla, Singularity, and Brink. I liked the demo to Red Faction and was interested in trying Singularity. Brink was a blind purchase.

I just hope these games don't end up sucking.

well, lets put it this way, hope in one hand and Brink in the other.

Ignore what you've heard about Brink. Go in with an open mind and see if you enjoy it. I had fun with it for 3-4 hours before getting bored with it. For $3, I think that's fair. Also, Singularity should not disappoint. I finished it about 2 months ago and really enjoyed the story and the game play. Have fun!

For all the hate that GameStop gets (especially on CAG), they have decent deals like this one where a casual gamer with very little cash can easily build a library.

So I just played a good 2 hours of Chronicles of Riddick and its pretty bad. The hand to hand combat is pretty decent but whenever you have to use a gun its just terrible. And so far the game is pretty boring.

Agreed. Also, people who come into the generation late can pick up some decent stuff for cheap. Not AAA titles, but solid stuff like Heavenly Sword and Dragon Age.

Unless my understanding of the term is off... there are a number of titles in that range. That is unless you don't consider LBP, Socom 4, Halo 3, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, to be of that tier. They're just all extremely old, but good for those looking for a chance to play or give them another go.

---

Sort of off topic, but anyone who actually buys or still have Brink want to help me with the mine trophy? I rebought it to FINALLY platinum it, but I am pretty much stuck where I was originally.

Bulletstorm was fun and not that long.....

I must be really lucky because I never run into any problems at my gamestop. I know the people there so they don't try to push stuff on me plus I've been given two brand new games this week instead of used ones because they were converted to pre owned. I don't really understand why gamestop does that but hey can't complain about brand new games at $3 each

Good point. I guess 5-7 years ago those were the AAA games weren't they? I didn't really think about those titles, and there are some other ones that were like that as well,

I think they were. Even Socom 4 had one of the better Kevin Butler commercials.

While I also consider Mass Effect 2 and even some of the flops to be of that tier... I kept it to bigger first party titles. Would be hard to deny that Killzone 2 (most consider the best) and Halo 3 (don't people also consider this one the best?) as AAA titles.

My first thought when I saw that picture was you should buy a used ps3 and put it on Craigslist as "PS3 WITH 36 GAMES, $1000!!!!!".

You bought 36 games for $120. Some people at some point in time probably paid the same amount for just 2 of those (although, probably no one here).

I wouldn't say that. You have Bad Company 2 / MW 2, which were two very commonly purchased games for MSRP. BC2 was also worth it, since you got a season pass like thing for free with purchase, which made it really appealing / awesome.

I don't need you tell me I have issues, I admit that every third post I make on this site!

Anyone have the August Gamestop Bday coupon?

Cant seem to find it
When there's rumors that they're tracking it's usage now and could be banning PUR accounts don't use it to save 60 cents.

what rumors ? not to mention they shouldnt ban anyone without warning as theres no rule or disclaimer stating that others cant use it. its not our fault that they made it infinate use and that anyone can use it, its their fault. this coupon isnt much differint from the cag16 code we use online anyway

It was mentioned in another thread that an employee let someone know that they were tracking the uses now by account.

Went to GS today to grab retail Ducktales Remastered and walked out with both Condemneds and Singularity, all complete and in acceptable shape.  I just need Riddick, Wanted and another game and I'll be set for this sale.

I decided to go back to gamestop and return Chronicles of Riddick,Soul Calibur 4,and Phantasy Star Universe. Phantasy Star Universe was pretty good but if I return Riddick and Soul Calibur I would need to get 2 different games and there is nothing I want from that list.

You shouldn't have an issue returning the games on an individual basis since they're not bundled in any way. You would only need to do them in threes if you wanted to replace some or all of the games to trigger the price reduction with the promo again when they rang them back up for the exchange.

Hmmmm I see alright I am heading there in 10 min. to return Soul Calibur 4(already have it on xbox) and Chronicles of Riddick and ill bring PS:U in case they give me any problems.

Well, this was what I got from the 3 for 10 sale (cept for Project Sylpheed). All came Complete and were in Great Condition. Now I finally get to play F.E.A.R. That's it for me. Couldn't find Wanted and Riddick, oh well.

Well I just got back from making my rounds at 4 local GameStops...

A couple of these weren't in the 3 for 10 promotion, but I had to grab them anyways.  I've already got my 2 copies of Heavenly Sword and Wanted boxed up for Amazon as well.  Spent a lot more than I was planning, but this was a huge help in getting me closer to every NA 360 game produced.
