PlayStation 4 Pre-Order Thread *GREATNESS OUT NOW!*

Microsoft's attempt to be the all-purpose home entertainment device has proven to be their downfall. "Jack of all trades... master of none." Sadly they have been back peddling since the official announcement. Hands down PS4 is the better system for hardcore gamers.
most hardcore gamers will want both systems to play each system exlusives.

Ugh.....super credible source........smh

X1 will be amazing......same as PS4......at least wait for the consoles to come out before behaving this way.....haha so sad

I just joined playstation plus today......I'm digging the free games. Almost makes me want to get a PS4 now - so amazon might restock in November? Did I read that right? I'm afraid to dig through this thread......fanboys make me ill

with these bundles coming out it shows these things will not be hard to find after launch and people like mr focus will still think thye will be hard to find.
This will be the wii u launch all over again people find out these things are not selling for couple grand and then return the systems to the stores which means more in stock for people that really want a system. I think it's sick for someone to buy 3-4 systems at launch just to make money when those systems could have been sold at msrp to people that really want those systems.
Cool story, bro.

I think the person said first 2 weeks of October.

best version of watch dogs will be pc enough said. But i really could care less about this anymore of course ps4/xbox fan boys will fight over this garbage in the end it all matters about the games. it really don't matter if watch dogs runs better on ps4/x1/pc or what ever system it's on if the game sucks it sucks. I was hyped about watch dogs but more i see of this thing is that its just a reskin of a. creed games.
I like reskins. Haven't see much on Wii U gamepad features for this game. Anyone know? I'm enjoying Splinter Cell Blacklist on Wii U so far, thinking about getting Arkham Origins to if the features are there. I'm just imagining some awesome things that are going to happen in Watch Dogs. I'm still hyped about it... Will be interesting to see how good it looks, ps4 compared to PC.

Only reason why I am going for the PS4 version is because of the 60 mins exclusive gameplay (Getting both PS4/XB1)
that's the only gamechanger for me.

If you seriously paid $900 to secure systems + $30 shipping per console and the demand is not there you stand to lose a lot of money. There were ways you could have secured that amount of consoles with NO financial risk. This is not your best move. Also, out of the last 4 console releases only 2 were profitable. Wii and 360 (unless you sold your PS3 the first day). PS3 and Wii U were busts. You may make a ton of money, but based on the amount of preorders available, the fact that they keep making MORE available, and the statements coming from Sony( not so much Microsoft), this may not be a good flipping year.
Well you already nailed the safest way to play it. List and sell your PS4 on or before the first day it goes on sale. The PS3 was super profitable "IF" you sold it on or before the first day of launch. Just like any other market, timing is key.

Which source do you have a problem with? If Ryse goes from 1080p to 900p and the amount of triangles for characters gets slashed almost in half since the E3 build, how does the source of this information matter?

It was well known that most X1 games were running on PC at E3. If Ryse could do 1080p 60 fps with 150k triangle count back then, why would it have difficulty doing 900p 30 fps 85k triangle count now. That's straight forward. Source don't matter.

Watch Dogs creative director Jonathan Morin stated himself PS4 is the definitive version, at least when it comes to consoles, due to fps and very likely resolution. Souce doesn't matter when it's a quote from the games creative director.

Only reason why I am going for the PS4 version is because of the 60 mins exclusive gameplay (Getting both PS4/XB1)
that's the only gamechanger for me.
Only reason I would choose the PS4 version is because I'm not getting X1, but if PS4 Watch Dogs is higher resolution and better fps then that's great.

Target probably won't even fulfill those orders, so not only are they ripping you off, they are going to leave you heartbroken.

Speak for yourself. At some point I'll bite the bullet and get an Xbox One because it's going to have some bitchin' exclusives. It's just not likely that I'll do that for another few years because I just can't justify it. Titanfall is apparently coming out for the 360, too, so I'm set there. Quantum Break and D4 are the only two games that I'll be missing out on for a while and that pains me. Not enough for me to get an Xbox One until it's dropped at least a $100-$150 in price, though.

Until then my shiny PS4 will keep me company with its soothing blue light.

Dang you really think they won't fulfill those orders? Seems dumb that they would put up a new ps4 bundle to not sell any of them. My aunt bought hers like 3 hours after they put it up.

No, I'm not speaking for myself; that's the point. Also, notice how you said you won't be buying both for some time. I guess you're saying either you aren't a hardcore gamer, or you aren't now, but will be in a couple of years. Thanks for clearing that up!

In all honesty the ps4 and x1 launch line ups are not that great if I was not a person that needs the latest tech I doudt I would get either one till at least spring

Zurc do you own 360/ ps3 or are you just a Sony fanboy bashing someone for planning on getting x1? If xbox one does a kinect less bundle for 400 bucks a lot of people will jump on x1 bandwagon.

Yeah, the Steam Machine development is messing with my head too.

Sony fanboy? I've owned multiple 360's and a PS3. I still have two 360's, and no Sony products. Notice the "Antifanboy" thing at the left. It's accurate.

Good news to anyone that pre ordered that target ps4 bundle they fixed the price to 519.97. So call them up and get yours fixed.

LOL. Nope. MS needs to get their crap together (regarding their ToS, etc) before I throw down coin. I'm also waiting to make sure MS doesn't try and bring back the original version of Xbox One. Also, I'm not paying 500 dollars for any game system. I have the money, but when I say, "500 dollars for a video game system" out loud, I shudder.

Totally agree. Microsoft lost a lot of face when they first announced the always-online DRM scam; why ANY gamer would defend that policy (and many did) is beyond me. They also alienated many with the forced Kinect gimmick (which is still forced on gamers).

While the 360 is my favorite current gen console (I do have PS3s and like them too), they really turned me off about the X1. I have only a PS4 preordered, and no plans for an X1 right now. MAYBE if they release a non-Kinect bundle, I'll consider one, but I'm not in any rush.

I bought a xbox at launch due to PS's price at launch.  I have both an xbox and PS3 now but the PS has been left to being just a blu-ray player after I beat Uncharted's, Last of Us, Heavy Rain etc... Xbox has been my main system of this gen.

Next gen I am going with PS4, and the biggest reason is price!  I consider myself a hardcore gamer and just because I don't buy both doesn't mean I'm not.  If you can't afford both you can't afford both.

isn't this cheap ass gamer?  Meaning don't have a lot of money gamer?  Which means that I am a hardcore gamer who wants to play as many games as i can so I find cheap deals?  :)

I don't get how $500 (or $400) seems like so much for these consoles when an iPhone costs $200 with a contract and an iPad costs $400-$500 as well. The consoles are arguably not as versatile as a phone, but both definitely are more useful than a tablet.

I don't get how anyone would pay those prices for Apple devices.

Crazy. If it did become available for Day 1, I wonder if I'd be able to get one from amazon and/or what the price would be. If it doesn't happen right away, it might make me want to wait, in case it does down the road.

Ack! Decisions, decisions...

Use of an iPad and use of a console are different though.  An iPad is pretty self-sufficient.  I have had an Android tablet for almost a year now, and aside from the initial cost, I haven't spent an additional penny on it.  A console is not meant to be self-sufficient (sure, I guess if you want to overpay for a blu ray player or cable box/netflix streamer).  A game costs $60 (MSRP).  If you buy one game a month, that's $720 a year (excluding tax) on top of the $500.

The Iphone argument is stupid, I have never paid anything out of pocket since the first iphone.  I keep one for two year, when i become eligible for an upgrade i trade it in and get $200 or more and get the new phone...  can't do that with a video game system either!

Why can't you?

Why can't you?
Sony and Microsoft dont subsidize the cost of the system like they do with the phone contract. Over the life of a typical phone contract which is 2 years, part of what you pay per month is a phone subsidy that goes towards covering the cost of the phone that you got a discount on.

You would actually come out more ahead if you did prepay, bought phone outright, and sold it every year when the new one came out. Pay less for service and you can sell a phone after a year for generally not a huge loss.

But yea all that being said a phone subsidized by a carrier has no relation to the cost of a console.

you also can't do that with a video game console because A. they come out every 7-10 years and B. there is no way I could trade in my ps3 or Xbox and get a PS4 or Xboxone without any downpayment or upfront cost...

as far as I am concerned yea I pay a monthly fee to use my cell phone, every two years I get the newest phone for free!

That's ridiculous too. I don't see the point in spending that when you know a new version will be out in a year. I'd rather get a cheaper phone, that's a year or so behind. I waited for a sale on my current phone (GS2). I didn't get it the first year, I waited until early 2012 to get it.

At least, with game systems, you know they'll be supported for 5-8 years.

I contacted target through an email and they told me they couldn't adjust the price on my order for the ps4. It said they can't adjust the price on pre orders that decrease in price after they are ordered WTF?So I'm gonna give them a call tomorrow and try to get them to adjust it. Did anyone else have this problem?

My aunt ordered hers from there I will ask her if she was able to change it. From what you said that sounds like bullshit on Targets part first of all they have a price guarantee which is if it changes within 2 weeks they will give you the lower one. And also this is a pre order which should be adjusted since it was a mistake on THEIR part. I would call and it explain it to someone who hopefully understands on the phone. Post back with your results so I can tell my aunt in case she gets declined.

okay i am late.. very late to join the PS4 preorder boat. I looked at OP and clicked some of those links but looks like its done deal almost every where..... Is any store still taking preorders with guarantee release date delivery as of now? I know someone wrote that AMZ might take more orders this week.

Short answer? NO. The walmart bundle pops up on a rare occasion though.

you definitely missed the boat... should have gone the amazon way... I preordered the day they were announced for both xbox and ps4 because they don't charge... knowing full well that if i couldn't get both, wanted only one or didn't want any at all that I could cancel at any time!

However, if what Sony has been saying, they are keeping some stock back for the holidays so there will be stock come Christmas time!  you can probably get lucky then!
