Street Fighter Complete worth it? Never played a fighting game on the PC. Actually havn't really gotten into fighting games since the SEGA Genesis days. No remote has felt right for them since then. IMO

about to fire it up for the first time, so all I can say is that the grid view pic sucks and I'ma be on that soon.

Thanks to Shaqles for another thing I just noticed: A list that's sortable by install size.

I don't catch wind of anything ES-related until a year after the fact.

For SSF4 it's a bit cheaper to get game and DLC pack separate instead of the complete pack.

The SF4 games are great, you can play it just like SF2 but there's some new stuff like the Focus Attacks and Ultra Combos. Everyone from SF2 is there, plus some characters from Alpha and SF3 and new doodz too. It's a good PC port and the online play works very well.

If you're used to the Genesis controller, you can get a USB Saturn or Genesis pad from Amazon for like $6. I'm not sure how reliable they are but at that price it doesn't really matter. Or you can get a Madcatz Fightpad for about $20, they have the same six-button layout and they're pretty sturdy. Maybe the Xbox 360 one so you can use it with other Xinput games.

Let me simplify your decision. Do you want to install Games For Windows Live? If yes, then buy Super Street Fighter IV because it uses GFWL. If no, then don't buy SSFIV.

SSFIV is good but not a lot to do game wise besides arcade and online.

Oooh, that's cool. :D

You can also sort that stuff w/out any extensions w/in the Steam client when in List Mode.

Jump into List Mode.

Hit the + sign on the right (which can also adds anything in details you want to see when in List Mode).

Click "Size on disk" to check it off and it'll also tell you what hard disk drive you have it installed on.

Done.

List mode... this is much better than the other shit. I put the grid view on the Steam client like a paper bag on a hood rat (jk!) and I keep it there, so this is new to me...

Yup, I normally run Steam's client for My Library in List Mode showing all of the details...

...except Icons and Images.

Steam Client program for me runs MUCH faster w/out the graphical Icons and Images crap - especially since I have TONS of games on Steam (currently 362).

EDIT:

I might switch to Detail view in my Library just to check my # of hours and how I'm doing w/ Achievements - but that's really it. I'm normally in List View.

GOOD:

streetfighter_zpsbe79156f.png

BAD:

- Crashes after every ROUND. Not a match, not a match, not a match. We talkin' 'bout... a round.

- Shows post-processing erratically

- Is washed as fuck without post-processing (judging by others' screens apparently that's how it's supposed to look? buffoonery)

- 360 controller blows for this and my Logitech is accin' up

GOOD:

- Will be easy to fix

- Extremely easy to run

- Unlockables (I don't play new Japanese games since Platinum is stuck on consoles -- sick throwback)

BAD:

GFWL overlay in addition to Steam's hinders picture-taking in Big Picture

Confrontation - My 1st Impressions

Confrontation is decent, so far - only like a little over 3 hours in.

While I really like the combat w/ the typical 4-man party, the fast action, and the strategy elements (w/ strategy-pause allowed), and the narration of the story (by what sounds like the actor who voiced Mors Westford in Game of Thrones RPG), there just don't seem to be much happening in the game w/ the characters or anything - at least not yet, anyways. Who knows if there will be - this seems so far like a map-based, straight-up linear affair. Again, I'm only a bit over 3 hours in - so, I don't know if it'll get less linear or what.

Since there is a MP portion - maybe this game's really built for that, given how this game's designed and what I've said so far about it? It's a guess - but, I'm not sure entirely here.

Given how great the story, plot, and characters for GoT RPG was - this stuff, so far, is kind of disappointing.
Maybe it'll build up to something later? I don't know. I have to play more - and Lord knows if I'll even want to stick around w/ this game.

At default Normal difficulty, this game Confrontation is MUCH harder than GoT: RPG. Namely, that's b/c you must keep your ENTIRE party alive and into the fray of combat! When a party-member goes down and gets knocked-down (into Agony mode) and is lying there moaning in pain, you got a limited amount of time (that'd be the grey bar timer right under their health bar) on them to have one of your party members help them out and get them back on their feet & back into the fray of combat. How many times I've failed a mission b/c one party member, I just couldn't get back up and they flat-out died - for whatever reason (i.e.  maybe I wasn't paying attention, too many enemies swarming other guys and trying to fight them off, etc).

Also, I don't see a key to bring up Codex while in-game. It can be accessed outside of the game, at game's menu before you start playing - and there's good deal of info in there, actually! Since player could access this in-game in GoT RPG, I hope there's a key in-game to find it - but it don't look like! I could really use this, as while playing, the game does notify you if you get a new Codex - and that seems to be quite a bit of information there! To take a nice break from Combat, it'd be nice if I could access this while IN-GAME like in GoT RPG, Mass Effect games, DAO, Diablo 3, and many OTHER RPG's - while flying solo in Confrontation, this would make A LOT of sense and could get me further immersed into the story, game-world, Lore, and anything of that sort! So if anyone know if you can and how to access Codex while in-game (doesn't seem to be listed in the in-game Controls in the Key Configuration), please say something!

The graphics - while the design itself looks cool and fine when it's zoomed-out (we have a mix of traditional-fantasy & both steampunk and sci-fi elements going on here), it's when the game's zoomed-in that it shows its age. Is this on the same engine as GoT: RPG? The graphics technically look quite dated here. Character models often don't look that detailed and/or they look kind of bland, for the most part. Well, at least it runs at around 60-70 frames consistently - sometimes in the 50's, according to FRAPS, when more effects, enemies, and stuff are happening on-screen.

So, yeah - that's my thoughts on this, for now...

Who wants in on a 4 pack for SSFIV:AE?  Do we have a thread somewhere for four packs, I feel like it happens often enough that if we don't we should consider it.  Like a 4 pack matchmaking thread.  It might exists somewhere I just cant find it.

So, who else currently on my Steam friends lists doesn't already own (and wants) SSFIV:AE?

Gone.

Alright I guess after getting the 4 pack price through JakeNome then getting the DLC pack I can't pass this up for barely $6. I just realized my brother has a RYU Fight pad  for the XBox...I wonder if that will work on the PC. Pretty sure it is USB.

Neuro...gotta say you are one of the best CAG's. Still appreciate you helping me out with Hotline Miami way back in December. Just wanted to say CAG's like you are what make this the best community on the interwebz.

Yeah, sorry man. I was actually passing a couple around last night right when I saw you bought in. Don't worry, more sales on the horizon and I gotta keep the Karma bank in the black.

So, for the people that organize their Steam catalogs by genre, how do separate games to allow you OCD and perfectionism to co-exist?  Right now, I don't have any of my installed games categorized due to the issue of some games splitting genres.  Like Borderlands is a FPS, but an RPG as well.  I feel weird putting BL in the same category as like CoD, since I play them for different reasons.  Or Mass Effect...TPS/RPG.  My library is getting large enough that I'm now tired of scrolling through my list to look at every title, so some semblance of organization is required.

it's all good ;) but SFIV has been on my wishlist for awhile and when I saw it was under 3 bucks, I jumped on it. ramble ramble ramble

To sum it up, Patience is a virtue I guess. lol

If you guys would add me to your Steam friends list, then I would finally have some real virtual friends.

I try to separate into sub categories. RPG Action, RPG CLassic (Fallout 1 style), First person, third person, etc. I'll admit, it's not as good as I'd like it to be, yet. I have over 340 games to sift through now, which is double what I had before trading and buying here on CAG :) .

I either tend to put games in their dominant category (I'd consider Borderlands to be more FPS than RPG) or create hybrid categories, (Borderlands would be FPS/RPG). There aren't many games that I can't easily narrow to just one category, though. Like, Mass Effect, to me, would clearly be and RPG, Borderlands would clearly be an FPS (it's really more an FPS with RPG elements than a hybrid, outside of the skill tree there aren't too many RPG elements).

Dammmmn that's extensive. I just have two for now: CRPG and then just RPG. I'm going to make an action RPG category though, because they do have a very different feel than a typical RPG. It'd be good for games like Torchlight and such.

From the reviews I have read it does not seem that you can access Codex from in-game which is lame.

There is a game manual in pdf format though if you like to look through that kind of thing:

I was considering doing it this way as it's how I mentally think of games, but I have so many hybrid games. Stealth/Action, Action/Adventure, Action/RPG, FPS/RPG, arrrrgh it hurts mah head.

I may just bite the bullet and do it this way. At least if I find that a category is becoming too generalized than I can go back and split it like taylort3 mentions. Though games like BL may still throw me for a loop. I'll probably put it in a RPG category myself, since I do role play it and the looting and status mechanics really make it stray from FPS mainstreams in my eyes.

Exactly...just split them into general categories at first. All of them will have a few of them that are kinda hybrid, but what's the point of making genre groups to organize all your games if you make 7 million groups because of your hybrids? Once you make the general categories, it'll become pretty clear which of your groups are overpopulated and need to be split into further groups. The only category of mine that definitely needs further categorization is RPG. RPG is such a wide category that a lot of different games fall into it - crpg, jrpg, action rpg, etc. And I feel like borderlands should be in a category called "lootfest" along with diablo and torchlight.

I "accidentally" bought "Planet Alcatraz" thinking I was going to get a Steam Key to pad out my Library total, but due to my lack of opening up each one (and/or looking at the groupees thread on CAG), I just bought what I was missing. Um, yeah. Anyway, I may have to fire up Planet Alcatraz so I have some kind of "control" to compare your gifts to.....
