RE:R was made for singleplayer. RE:R's Raid Mode is kind of tacked on, their lazy way of implementing a co-op mode. The real meat is the singleplayer. If you really don't have anyone to co-op with in RE6, you can always hit me up.. I wouldn't mind playing through RE6 again.
Agreed that the campaign in RE: Revelations was designed for single player.

I like Raid Mode though. It's more akin to Diablo/Borderlands in that you're running through areas in search of loot. As you level up, you unlock more areas from the campaign to explore and you can increase the difficulty of each run to increase the quality of the loot. I also think it's cool that when one of your friends die, they turn into a zombie that, when killed, drop some kind of special weapon. It's completely different from how they handled co-op in other RE games, but it's a neat concept that I hope they refine for future installments.

So basically if we don't like playing co-op (*cough* or have no one to coop with *cough*) then RE6 and RE:R is pointless to get then?
In the same boat on this one (not that I was particularly interested in RE6 anyway, but being co-op focused makes me even less so)...which the logical solution I suppose would be you and I playing together, though my awkward antisocial tendencies would probably make that more of a hassle than it's worth ;)

For all the people looking to dump your backgrounds and emoticons, I know a few people in here would want them regardless of what they are. If there is an emoticon or background you want, I'm sure a trade can be worked out. I personally come across stuff all the time. I'll even go looking for cards you need if you make it worth my time.
Like me :whee:

can anyone recommend either Re6 or Revelations?
I didn't like Revelations. The main enemies were these weird things that kept beating me up. I got annoyed at one of the first boss fights.

RE6 is much better in my opinion. I'm a horror movie fan, so I really liked parts of RE6. Especially Jake campaign. The monster reminded me of Michael Myers on steroids. It's clear they were trying to appeal to old school horror fans with that monster.

can anyone recommend either Re6 or Revelations?
I liked resident evil 6. I would recommend it if u have a friend to play it with. The only downsides i can think of is that sometimes they have too many quick time events and that some campaigns intersect so you play certain things multiple times. But I did get a lot of game time from it.

Revelations I have no idea. I just bought it during this steam sale. Hopefully it's a good game.

you scared of internet timeout for a day

Is that Arial Castro?
When did you join, 2008? Sheit nucca, my first ban on CAG was in '06. Respek yo elders, son.

Just ordered RE6 and DL'ing it.

So, since the game's long for linear survival-horror - maybe gamers should play each campaign at different times apart from each other?
I followed a guide someone came up with so that the story unfolds in a way that makes sense and the campaigns don't spoil each other as much. All of the campaigns sort of take place simultaneously. This is the order I've followed, I left off after Chris 3 or 4.

Leon 1-3

Jake 1-4

Believe it or not, I found this video a few months ago randomly. I watched it like 30 times consecutively, trying to see if I could learn how to do that...then I decided my 5-6 hobbit man body with my stubby legs would probably break multiple bones if I legitimately gave it a shot.

Eh, I'll be keen, but after Nov 15 (last exam sigh...). But I feel like $10 is a bit too much to pay for RE6

Actually recently finished up Remember Me. I like a lot about it, but it's honestly not a great game. I don't regret the purchase because I really enjoyed everything else about it, but the gameplay just kind of exists as a bridge between cut scenes/story bits. The combat is adequate at best, a bit repetitive, reminds me more of Prince of Persia Sands of Time than anything else. The platforming controls are stiff and the paths very linear, which after playing Tomb Raider 2013 made it all the more glaring how stiff it was. That being said, I love the setting of the game. It's got a nice neo-noir sensibility to it, the environments are gorgeous if static, and while the story isn't amazingly deep I like it enough to give it points for the ideas present even if they weren't perfectly executed on. I think it would make a great movie/mini-series where they could run with some of the themes around memory, corporate power and mind control and all the other concepts that exist kind of just under the surface of the game that aren't fully explored.

I'd say it's certainly worth a look at 75% off but most of the value for me was appreciating the potential there in some ways more than the actual game I was playing.
That's what appeals to me the most when looking at Remember Me, the environment and themes involved. I can tolerate a game where the gameplay element is sub-par and 'meh', if something like the story and environment make up for it. One example that comes to mind is the first Assassin's Creed, good grief that gameplay and repetition about did me in. To this day I still have nightmares of running into another game like that. However, I was hooked into the story and setting enough to grind it out & finish . Even if the relations are reversed I can sometimes tolerate it as well, but it would depend on the game brand and interest level. AND of course if the game is on sale (75% off).

Thanks for mentioning all of that above. I might pick that up if there's a price drop.

I'm terrible at keeping up with this thread lately. Hopefully I didn't miss any solid deals that would look shiny in my BL. I'll just avoid reading the past 15 pages to remain in the dark.

So CAG 3.0 sucks (for an adonis who likes to make elaborate posts) except for the copy-and-paste feature. First rate C&P.

$5 from J-Nizzle and $5 through Steam if I use fake money. Smart asshole.

- No last.fm support so I don't even wanna know what else is missing.

Hello people!

Welcome to Playfire's Golden Joysticks coverage. Over the next two weeks we'll be running a generous handful of competitions, polls and discussions. You'll have the chance to win some of this year's best games, win GMG Credit and get involved in some passionate discussion about 2013's greatest video game achievements.

First up, a glorious poll! We want to know what your ideal gaming mashups would be? The prize for the most ludicrous gaming suggestions is $20 of your finest GMG Credit, redeemable on anything on the site. And we'll be picking three winners.

So, if that tickles your fancy, tell us; if you could glue two games together and create a hybrid monster, what games would they be and why? You can take mechanics and gel them together, or just create ridiculous, hilarious ideas with your carefree brains.

As you can probably tell from the picture above, our pick would be mashing Dishonored's stealthy magical powers with Fifa's realistic ball-kicking sim. We absolutely suck at football games, so the ability to whizz across the pitch at speed, nicking the ball of other players would fill us with glee.

So that's all you need to do. Two games you'd love to see mashed together and why? We'll pick 3 winners, each of whom will win $20 GMG Credit. You've got until 11:00UTC on October 14th to get your answers in, when we will pick the winners!

Yup, I entered yesterday. :D

MysterD's Mash-Up:

The Witcher series and Final Fantasy series mash-up. Why? Namely b/c they are such opposites in just about every single way in the RPG genre. It'd be interesting to see some of these mature, bleak & dark characters and worlds that are littered with sex, violence & nudity from The Witcher series - just clash w/ some of the Final Fantasy staples like melodrama, outlandish stories and characters, artistry and extremely beautiful colorful lands & characters. Just throw this all in a blender and see what happens! They (the developers) would definitely have to find a way for the game to use both styles and make it interesting. Witcher 3 seems to be aiming for more of an open-world style and nature, whereas FF series was usually very linear - we're going to toss this in a blender and have a little of both, here and there. Since Final Fantasy seems to getting further away from turn-based systems (especially with the upcoming FF14, so it looks like), might as well give it the combat of a Witcher 2 game or whatever they do with it Witcher 3. There'll be more than signs, here - as we'll also have the plethora of magic and spells we've seen in FF titles. But, here's the twist: since Final Fantasy games usually let you handle parties (usually of 3 or 4), this mash-up could let the player - if they so decide, when the opportunity comes depending where the player's at in the story parts of the game and when they take on those parts of the game - to have more than one character be controlled and switch between. The player can decide to just play and let the AI do its thing for other party members; and even switch b/t party members on the fly - especially when in combat situations. Taking one of the RPG staples of The Witcher series, we'll finally have a game with FF content that'll also have decision-making and consequences for decisions, at certain point in the game and story. While, that is plenty already that I've mentioned - just imagine the level of intrigue w/ two of the most different RPG's franchises of all time, The Witcher and Final Fantasy, finally being mashed-up together into one amazingly crazy pot to stir.

Was eying this yesterday. I'd prefer a Steam copy of course, but given it's more than $1 cheaper than most Steam sales for it, and that being an EA game makes it less likely to actually go on sale anytime soon, I might just grab the Origin version.

Just a forewarning, even being. 6'1" tall, I still knocked a few things over trying to do that.

I'm hoping being the same height as #1 helps me accomplish this goal. We shall see...
