To be completely honest, going off polls is no better (perhaps even worse) than simply making up a number.

Someone gets a working system, then they're most likely playing it and enjoying life.

Someone gets a broken system, the got nothing better to do than spew hate filled jealousy and make sure everyone knows how they were wronged by the gods of random chance.

 
Don't mean to derail the train of people awaiting their ps4, but if you bought your ps4 from amazon and bought 1 year of ps plus do you not qualify for the extra 10 bucks?

According to that small and isolated poll, over 18% of people are getting the pulsing blue light(HDMI) or red light(overheating) issues. Those consoles are screwed and need repair.

Again, there could be liars and trolls too, but that applies for any poll anywhere.

Geez PSN status thread needed now :) - got my PS4 from costco today in east bay, was big line!

I was super excited looking at how fast the patch applied and then bummer can't get into PSN!!

I'll try to work with them, should I need to since I am a regular customer. See if I can trasnfer my warranty to a new console should mine be DoA. They may not go for it, but I am a regular customer, and I think not wanting to waste the warranty a week after its release is a fair plea.

 
Well that's interesting. They must have separate servers handling handshakes for the PS4 because I just booted up the PS3 and got straight on PSN.

Greatness awaits. . .on PS3? :lol:



Thats what happened to me last night while setting up. Had a frozen "please wait" during the last step... privacy setup, decided to power down my ps4, rebooted my unit and was able to connect to psn without issue. had to double check my settings after just to make sure everything was how i wanted it to be. Cant wait to go home from work and start playing 2k14.

IGN has probably the worst community of any webpage I visit. Not trying to say PS4s failing is not an issue but there probably couldn't be a worse source to poll than the community at IGN.

 
Fedex never shows up earlier then 7pm for me tbh. 

I really think I received a package from them after 8 o clock a few times. 

I keep seeing Sony Entertainment Network is currently undergoing maintenance but the PS Store is still up and running.  I have Blacklight: Retribution and my CoD upgrading in the background. 

My DCUO download keeps getting corrupted. If it's anything like the PS3 version though then the file is going to be massive and take a whole day to "update" before playable. 

Trying to get in on a Resogun online co-op going on. 

 
6:30 here and UPS has yet to deliver my PS4.  I ordered the very minute it became available from Amazon (kept refreshing page) too.  This won't matter at all in the big scheme of things as a few hours are negligible, but STILL!!  LOL

Except that it was super-fast when I updated/downloaded stuff after the midnight launch. It could very well be that stuff got worse later today, but I was getting the fastest downloads I've ever gotten from any system when I first hooked it up at 12:30 Pacific. The initial patch was over before I realized that was what it was doing. I downloaded Resogun, Flower, and Contrast in minutes. And then I downloaded the 2.4GB Warframe while I played one of those games and it was done within 15-20 minutes tops.

I was messing around with the NBA Gametime app and I can see that getting daily use from me and my son during the season. We get extended HD highlights and recaps of games that are more in depth than what you have to wait through commercials and other sports for on ESPN. Plus, HD (I'm cheap and have basic SD cable ;)).

I put 4 hours into Resogun and Contrast last night. I think I'm probably half way done with Contrast. It is a beautiful game with lots of atmosphere and some interesting puzzles but it looks to be short. I am still waiting on NBA 2K14 to get delivered from Amazon. And I ordered Skylanders Swap Force for my other son's birthday next weekend. So those games (as well as Knack which I have now but haven't started yet) will be our main games probably into next year barring whatever they give us via PS+. But I went into it know that there wouldn't be all that much. PS+ is what clinched it for me though - I knew I'd always have something to play because of that.
 
So far I have updated my PS4 manually and had trouble logging into PSN (due to the network issues).

But no issues with the console itself *crosses fingers*. Can't wait to start gaming tonight. 

 
This is getting ridicules, still waiting for the ups truck. they really need to get more drivers on big delivery days like these.  

 
I'm afraid to even open my PS4. I guess I will try it out and just return it to Amazon if there are problems.

They were originally part of that deal, and you had to purchase the PS+ today. So who knows. You could contact em and tell em you saw their advertised deal.

Only in this case there would be a lot more liars and trolls than in normal polls.
 
Aside from PSN woes my PS4 is working fine. Got done playing some COD Ghost. I would love to get onto PSN and download that patch and play some MP.

So far I am loving my PS4. Its a sexy machine.

I do not know. Been so long. I remember waiting in line at my local Gamestop/EB Games and got my PS3 on launch. I dont remember PSN issues. But I dont know been so long.

 
i was nervous as hell connecting the hdmi cable lol... i couldnt even figure out how to turn the damn thing on..

Very odd design though..

Very same feeling last night. Haha! I was putting the hdmi cable very slowly and hoping that everything will go in smoothly. (Dang typing that was weird! Lol!)
 
Figures that I post how Fedex never delivers to residential before 7pm for me and both packages showed up on different trucks 10 minutes ago.

Then I noticed it was UPS.

 
Downloading my update now, had an issue with the hdmi not registering either but was able to make it work.

Games-wise, I have BF4 and AC4 to start.  I also have Ghosts but thinking of exchanging it for Killzone since my Target does not have NFS in stock.  Any thoughts?  I've never played a Killzone game before. 

 
I just checked my HDMI port to see if my issue was the same as what IGN is describing. I do not have any metal pieces sticking up that is inhibiting the HDMI from going in. I have a firm, snug connection and the system just pulses blue. It looks like some of the issues may be this metal piece but that is not the only issue. Mines PS4 is going back to Amazon tomorrow.

Yes you can bring it back and switch it out so long as they have an extra one.

I wouldn't worry to much about it, people who have working consoles are less likely to post about it working. They are to busy playing =)

Mine worked just fine out of the box.

This would not have been faster for me. I turned the PS4 on and it had DL the update in less than 5 sec. Now logging onto PSN that hasnt worked out in my favor yet =)

I tried the one that was still in place from the Xbox 360 I traded in. I got no picture. So I replaced it with the one that came with the system and it worked.
 
from the look of it, Destiny looks way over hype. looks like a generic shooter in a open world, i.e. planetside, not a true next gen game. visually, its also disappointing too if they intend for this game to have a 10yr lifespan.  graphics like the witcher 3 and cyber punk 2077 are what i expect from next gen.  Destiny is nothing but a generation transition game, gonna disappoint alot of people, imo.

I guess I'll just utilize standby mode charging. Always upset PS3 did not have it.
