This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11 :wave:

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

No, it's clearly because I don't have xpadder.

CLAF3, you're a mad salty fuckboy.

Being an improvement and being a good game are two different things.

For what it's worth I've had this happen before. The problem is that the deadzone has been messed up, or in other words your controller now thinks the middle is at one of the edges. This happened a lot with GameCube controllers since it remapped the deadzone every time you plugged a controller in (so if the stick wasn't dead center it would mess it up). If plugging it out/in doesn't fix it though it's basically shot. Your only hope would be to dismantle it and see if you could manually realign the sticks, but I'm not sure that's possible with all controllers and you are likely better off just buying a new one and saving yourself the trouble (speaking from experience, it's a lot easier to take a controller apart than put it back together).

And the deadzone can be altered with Xpadder.

There's a distinct lack of DEALS DEALS DEALS talk today, so I'm going to save you 100% off Ashes Cricket 2013 by making you not buy it. Review:

This really, really annoyed me.

Cricket isn't a hugely overpopulated sports market, but there have been a handful of decent (although admittedly niche) titles down the years: Graham Gooch's World Class Cricket, Brian Lara Cricket 2005, whatever that game was on the SNES. Ashes Cricket 2013 (AC2013) will not be joining that list.

What's good about it:
- David 'Bumble' Lloyd features on commentary (I'm told, I've not heard him yet);
- It's better than Cricket Revolution;
- They've accurately recreated Hawkeye;
- That's about it.

What's bad about it:
- The AI is terrible, don't expect your fielders to actually chase a ball down or, hell, even catch something;
- The animations are clunky and cut from one move to the next, it's like playing a game from the early days of 3D sports;
- Commentary repeats the same phrases over and over, sometimes twice in a row!;
- Bowling feels clunky, and the different balls (off-spins, doosras, arm balls etc.) all feel exactly the same;
- Batting is terrible, impossible, and fruitless;
- Nothing feels like it should, it's just pixels flying around with no semblance of contact on the ball or anything;
- The players look like they've been created on a Nintendo Wii;
- It's possible to bowl out the CPU using certain deliveries, EVERY SINGLE TIME (arm ball, round the back of the legs);
- No "scenarios", which were really fun in Brian Lara 2005;
- Lots of other stuff.

Cricket suffers from not being as global as soccer, in that Fifa and the like get incrementally better each year until we get the masterpieces we see today. Cricket is lucky to see a new game every three years. If Codemasters get their head screwed on, we might see a decent cricket sim sometime soon, but this is more in hope than expectation: cricket isn't a huge market I guess.

Verdict: This sucks almost as much as Lost Planet. Avoid. Dickie Bird is raising his finger.

It's not a sensitivity problem unfortunately. I might keep my eye out for a first party 360, Logitech, or maybe just play with all these PS3 ones I have and get one of those to work.
Newegg consistently puts both the wired and wireless official 360 controllers on sale for $25/$35 respectfully. They are a lot cheaper on eBay, but you'll likely end up with a Chinese knockoff. They've gotten quite good at matching the look of the normal ones. I read about to many issues with the wireless versions on PC, so I went with wired. Ashes was a big fan of Logitech, and I've had some great controllers from them in the past, they would be cheaper still.

Not gonna lie, I legitimately thought he was referring to mass effect there.

This seems to be a bit too involved to simply be a shrug

More like a nervous tic

Or she's about to seize out
Or she's just a really bad actress. My money's on that. I wasn't convinced that she was feeling flippant, nor sarcastically quippy.

This all started when we registered for Steam accounts.
I only registered for Steam after I bought Portal 2 for the PS3 and wanted to compare performance from Pc to Console, at that time being an exclusive console gamer for about 7 years since playing Warcraft II on Win98SE. God I was so innocent. If only I knew what I was starting back then....if only.

You pretty much had me at "save you 100% off Ashes Cricket 2013" especially when you mentioned the title Ashes Cricket 2013. ;)

My question for you is have you played many sports games lately? (namely, console games). I'm of the opinion that sports games in general are a wasteland right now. I know a lot of people think that sports games dominate the video game market, but for most sports now, there is ONE game that you have to buy if you want to enjoy that sport.. You've got EA with the exclusive license for the NFL, 2K with the exclusive (third party) license for MLB, and even in NHL, NBA, and NCAA....which aren't exclusive, the leagues have been almost neatly divided as though part of some divorce settlement. Hell, there aren't even any college sports games anymore.

As a result, most of these developers/publishers have been mailing it in for the past 4-5 years or more. Several of your complaints about Ashes Cricket 2013 could be slapped on Madden or NHL or even the best of most of them (Fifa...which actually does still have competition). The AI is routinely terrible. Not even just not making a good play...but fundamentally not understanding what they're supposed to be doing. Terms such as "real world physics" get carelessly thrown around while players do things that would make Linda Blair say "WTF???"

Of course, saying all of this in no way makes Ashes Cricket 2013 a good game. But in today's modern sports gaming landscape, it might be more on par with the major players than you think, haha. It makes me sad thinking about how much these once great franchises have deteriorated. But when your customers are given the choice of buy your crappy product or play nothing...it's not like you have to really make much of an effort. So is the life of a sports gamer.

I think the problem w/ most sports games is they're often banked-out EVERY single year and it feels like minor tweaks per year for a franchise. I'm not one to rush out to spend big $ on new-said sports game. I don't normally buy them every single year, either. I'll skip a few years or iterations, if it sounds like they don't change much from one year to the next. Often, I don't buy these games ASAP - I wait for them to have been around for a bit and drop in price - and see if there's good mods out there (especially if it's Roster and Player adding stuff).

Sometimes, I think it'd be just easier on them if they just made a big sports game for the platform. Then, they can sell yearly an expansion to just add new Game Modes, New Updated Rosters, and any other updates at expansion pack pricing.

Heads up:

If you bought Groupees Be Mine Anniversary, you can now redeem your Steam key for The Cat Lady. And yes, it does conflict with Bad Rats if they are both in your library.

Anybody know who this is? He just randomly added me as a friend on steam last night. These sort of random friend invites happen to me every couple of weeks. Usually I just ignore the invite unless it's somebody I can clearly recognize. But he has a few CAGs on his friends list. So...I don't know.

are you sober? i think that mysterd his real life person

C'mon - did you really expect 2W2 would be in the league of Black Isle (RIP), Troika (RIP), Obsidian, BioWare (RIP), and Bethesda RPG's?

I certainly did NOT.
You missed an RIP... Don't worry I added it for you.

Pirates will be the new zombies
I don't think they will be... Zombies just have one thing that will always make them popular to do... Ease of programing. Think of all those simple (and most of the not so simple for that matter) zombie games you've played... Simple controls, brain dead and/or singular AI, etc... Swap those zombies for pirates. Does it work? Nope not really... Even a simple pirate game is going to be far more complex than those simple zombie games.)

12. http://getgamesgo.com/product/grid-2 grid 2 best sale so far excluding grid 2 giveaway
That is tempting... I really want/need a new racer game with McLarens in it... (Really want one with a P1 but I think we are limited to Forza 5 (not on PC obviously) and Need for Speed Rivals (which has issues) but I think I'm going to wait till the sales... See if there isn't some sort of a Codemaster racer bundle.

He must be trustworthy, 11 year olds don't lie

Steam keys for The Cat Lady are now available from Groupees for people who bought BeMine Anniversary. The key will add the game to your account but it won't show up on your list until it's released.

People who bought the game through Teacup Special, Mitzi's Meal & Susan's Ego deals, Indie Game Stand or the IB Phoenix Horror Bundle should have keys soonish. The game comes out on December 4th.

(Thanks to Xelios at NeoGAF's current Steam thread for the tip.)

Argh when is Dark Souls 2 PC going to get a release date? I might be forced to pre order on xbox.
I'll try to be patient for the PC version instead of getting it for the PS3/360.

Also, does anyone want a game called "Fester Mudd"? Just noticed it had steam keys on my Groupees page and I'm not interested in playing it. I have two keys.

Yeah, I really want it for PC, but if release date approaches and there's no word, or if it's a good bit of time after the console release, I'm gonna have to bite on the 360 version. That's one of my most anticipated games- possibly most - ever, and a day 1 buy/play as soon as I can. Worst case scenario, if need be I'll buy for 360, beat it, then trade it in and re buy for PC.

Nothing is worst then a daily deal on a software, NOTHING.
How often do any of us actually give a crap about the daily deal? I maybe buy one each month, probably even less often than that. Hell, most of them don't even conjure up any discussion here.

Thanks for mentioning this, it does indeed look awesome. I will be downloading it but promised myself not to play Civ 5 again until after I get Brave New World. Looking for that to go on a proper good sale within the next few weeks.
it was on sale few days ago on friday for 7.65 but sincei had1buck it was only 6.65
