New Thread:

This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

Guys, whatever happened to that Ignore feature anyway? I keep looking for a little X on n8rockerasu's posts because I'd rather not read his whiny man-child trolling, but nothing shows up. Do I have to go into my profile and manually Ignore this bigoted internet tough guy?

It also probably doesn't help that your avatar picture seems like a guy who just needs a good punch in the face, lol. But that one is on me.

Also, LOL! HOW IRONIC IS THIS ;)

Looking for recommendations for *local* multiplayer/coop games that I can pick up in the Winter sale to play with my kids. Pre-teen girls so nothing too violent (though they're not squeamish), and no Barbie-style crap either.
http://www.co-optimus.com/games.php?type=couch

Looking at that list maybe:

Awesomenauts

Disney Universe

Dungeon Defenders

Full Mojo Rampage

Any of the Lego games (These are usually great for kids)

Rayman Origins or Legend

Rocketbirds

The Cave
World Gone Sour

Worms Revolution

Is someone going to take my extra Zigfrak Steam key or am I going to have to fling myself into a rage of epic proportions?

Let me be clear:  This key is free of charge, brand new, no odors or unsightly stains.  Quote this post and I will PM it to you.  Quick, easy and completely painless.  Do not make me rage.

You have to manually add members under 'Ignore Settings'

I've heard that Uplay sales steam keys along with their crap... How do I recognize this?

uPlay version right?
FO:NV is Steamworks. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'll take it.

Okay, well, avoid The Eternity Clock unless they're patient and HUGE Doctor Who fans.

Hamilton's Great Adventure is pretty but an exercise in frustration. I may just suck at platformers but I also felt this way about Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.

As much as we berate it here, Magicka would probably be quite good for this purpose and if they're into comic-book stuff, X-Men Legends II should be as well.

Minecraft. My kids (7-10 yrs) can't get enough of it.

Eh... scratch that. I assume by local you are thinking "same screen". I was thinking more LAN.

Here are the games I play co-op with my kids:

These are our favorites:

Sonic & All-Star Racing Transformed
Spelunky
Dungeon Defenders
Awesomenauts
Megabyte Punch
Lego Batman 2
Monaco
Castle Crashers

Here are some more we've played a bit of:

Kung Fu Strike
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
Pinball FX 2
Guilty Gear (GOG.COM)
RAW: Realms of Ancient War (has blood)
Rocketbirds
Beat Hazard Ultra

So long as it still stacks it's useful for me. I'd rather have my Ubi games through solely uplay, and there are some old assassin's creed games I've been eyeing.
Hey, I can't disagree with that kind of reasoning, especially if the coupon stacks. I'd probably do the same if I didn't already own all of the AC games.

Rocketbirds has -lots- of gun violence and blood, and the ending is a little bit... uh, gorey. The Cave is also quite mature in its tone and also features cartoon violence. I don't remember if there's blood but there probably is.

They're good games but I recommend looking into them a bit more before buying them - you may find that their violent content may not be suitable for your kids.

Here's a 3 games in one key (Metro 2033, Risen, Sacred Chicken):
I read that as Sacred Chicken... that's what fever will do to me.

Ubi's Winter Sale has started. (Ends Dec.31)
Um, I guess the 12 days of Xmas Sale so over... so Xmas sale? Still nothing catching my eye... GS sales > Uplay sales... and that's not saying much...

Thank-you Fox. I was beginning to think everyone had me on Ignore. 8-[
I was sleeping. It's kinda like putting everyone on ignore for a few hours. ^_~

'twas $9.99 on Steam back on 3 December. You might be interested in checking out Enhanced Steam. ;)

Wow...you're serious? Bigoted? Ok, fella. Better go find some Jergens for that soft alabaster skin. Good grief.

lmao...it's like that scene in Step Brothers. I don't know what it is, but I just wanna deliver one of these right into his suckhole. That damn picture. It's unnerving.
I have nothing against you personally, but as I've recently said...

For lack of better judgement, I'll add this. All sarcasm aside, attacking another poster's actions (i.e. their posts/words) can be viewed with a certain amount of credibility. Attacking another poster as a person loses said credibility. This goes for everyone.

Just a random statement after days of watching deals:

I need to stop stressing over not getting the best possible deal EVERY time I see a new better deal. I the long run, I still always get a much better value than if I were to buy day of release, or for 50% off. I'm sweating a couple bucks most of the time. Sure, I could have waited for a better deal, and probably would've gotten one, but who knows? Maybe the deal I got is going to be the best one in a long time to come.

It's going to be a crapshoot.

Also, I need to stop buying games unless it's something I've REALLY wanted. My pile of shame is getting ridiculous :(
I started making custom grids to cut back on games I'll never play- card money be damned. But, I still get irrationally frustrated when a game I've owned for over a year and haven't touched ends up in a bundle. I could have saved $1.13 on OMD2! I'm fully aware that it's ridiculous, but I still feel like a shitty CAG.

I'm also really bad at playing the Steam market. My patience is terrible. And for some stupid reason I was waking up in the middle of a work nights to switch idling games for $.10 to $.20. Thankfully, I lost access to my steam inventory for a while to break that madness.

Question to the floor:

I'm nearing the end of the Borderlands 2 main story. In what order should I attempt the DLC?

And should I hop in at a certain level? I'm around L30 at the moment and want to make sure I do the content while it's relevant.

You do have a lot of time on your hands now that your fantasy football season is over.

There's really no order to it, especially if you're finishing the main quests. And as for being level 30, assuming you're playing through normal mode, that should be fine. I did Tiny Tina's DLC last as I did them as they came out and started at level 42 (I was doing all the side quests) and I was a tad over-leveled.

Hope that works. This was typed one-handed on mobile while feeding Baby Flow.
As a father myself, that "Baby Flow" (or even Flowette - is she a girl?) brings back some not-so-pleasant memories. Still, enjoy your baby while you can.

And thanks for the BUTTON recommendation - I'll go back and compile everyone's responses into a list.

Thanks for this! I'm always looking for local coop games to play with friends. Although, sadly, I think those days may be over for me until I have some kids and they develop motor skills. Time to get busy...

All jokes aside, I can confirm Typing of the Dead just uses random words and phrases when you play:
