hmm didn't see this mentioned in the OP. What day does the store update/change with its sales? PS store is tuesday, figure xbox should have a day too. I was eyeballing charlie murder but want to try the demo first. Just wanted to know how long i had
No guarantees, but I believe deals are still active until 9am Pacific/12pm Eastern following the official "end date day".

I just got El Shaddai.

It's really good. You should get it.

Beautiful Katamari is probably going to be a hit or miss kind of thing.
Since you 'just' got it, I'd recommend playing a bit more before recommending it to others. I had that initial reaction but the game will get really repetitive. So much that the beautiful worlds can't make up for it...at least to me it did.

For those unsure, I can definitely recommend Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate (it's still on sale as I'm writing this). I suck at fighting games, but there's so many difficulty settings to choose from that it's ideal for anyone. Tons of content, loads of lovely skins to unlock, many gamemodes. It's especially fun if you've got friends playing with you - I've got a friend who also bought it and we probably played like 60-70 matches already.

Oh, and for the achievement hunters: it's all pretty feasible. Some are timeconsuming (finishing the hundreds of steps of the tutorial, playing 100 matches online, etc.), but none are based on the difficulty you're playing at, and not many require actual proper skills at the game. 13$ for a game that come out in September with a still alive multiplayer community too - can't really go wrong with this one guys.

Just wanted to point out that not only does el shaddai get incredibly repetitive, it has been cheaper in every past sale, and likely will be again before long, it's pretty as hell, but that only gets you so far on my scale of honest value.

El Shaddai was an interesting game - I got it last time it was on sale and didn't really regret it, but I'll echo the repetition statement. Though it's kind of like comparing apples and oranges, I'd say that Eternal Sonata is a better use of the cash.

I bought the DLC for Left 4 Dead 2 via the xbox website - when I clicked on the price it showed $1.74 + sales tax. However, my credit card (via Paypal) was charged for the non-sale price of $7.50. I tried filing a claim with Paypal which was ultimately closed. Has anyone run into this before and if so, how do I go about disputing the charge?

dude, your convincing, but i want a physical copy of the game. I have all of the DOA games in disc format, it will feel wrong for me to have a DOA game in digital format. Same goes for killer is dead, i have all of suda (?) 51 games in disc.

Contact microsoft and they can verify the time of purchase and cross it with the time the sale went live. Unfortunately if you grabbed it while it was marked down, but not on the discount page, you may get trouble from those who consider that sketchy, though you shouldn't have much trouble. They should be able to figure it out on their end and credit you.

This absolutely. I still can't believe I got Eternal Sonata for under $4 when I was gonna grab it for like $20 just weeks ago.

wtf I have been trying for days to buy NCAA 14 online. It keeps giving me not at this time bs. But I have purchased 6 other games just fine. Are their certain games you just can't buy online?

Obviously, for collection purposes, on disc could be better. If MS can offer the game for 13$ just over 3 months after release, chances are any other sale (be that on X360 or PS3, digital or disc) could easily make it become 10-15$ in a matter of weeks/months. And yeah, the main game is 5.44 GB, and it has 9 (yes, nine) mandatory free DLCs, though luckily the sum is probably around 300-400 MBs (they're basically compatibility patches), so does take a bit of room on your HDD.

The offer is over by now anyway, so you can probably just wait out a similarly good sale for the disc version. My bet is that you'll be seeing a similar price for the disc version in the next 3 or so months.

I have the xbox 360 disc with Trails HD, Limbo, and Splosion Man. Does anyone know if this disc contains the DLC for Trials HD? I'm thinking I should download it but I don't want to waste the money if I don't have to.

I'm also seriously considering buying Trials Evolution and its DLC because I remember hearing such great things about it. I also remember hearing that the game gets frustratingly hard though. I guess that's why it has the word "Trials" in the title. :p

First time I've ever bought something off XBLA.  I have to wait until the hours of 2am-8am to download because I only get 10gb/month, but I've bought Bully, Wolf Among Us season pass, El Shaddai, and Eternal Sonata.  Maybe they will be cheaper in another sale, but I'm using a 1 month Gold card and I don't have time for another sale.

How is Duck Tales Remastered?  I can play it on Nintendo for free, but it's $7.49 for new version and I don't know that it's worth a purchase.

Heads up, the dashboard link for the "Origin of Pain" Trials DLC actually purchases the Origin of Pain gamer pics.  The actual content pack (with new levels and stuff) is discounted, but you have to search for it manually.  I contacted MS support so hopefully they fix the link.  The names of the DLC packages are very similar; just make sure to read the descriptions when you purchase and note that the level pack will be marked at $1.64, not $1.

I'm waiting for a bigger discount. I played that game plenty when I was a kid. I really want it, but due to what I've heard. I can't justify buying yet.

I REALLY love DuckTales remastered but for any HD remake my limit is around $10, so it's well worth the sale price but NOT worth Capcoms inflated nonsense tag of $15.

Okay, I'm only asking this cause I think someone mentioned it here. (The Buy 3 X1 arcade games, get 3 Months free.) But...

Has anyone here played Max: The Curse of Brotherhood? I already have Killer Instinct and Powerstar Golf, and since they stupidly don't offer Halo: Spartan Assault or Peggle 2, that seems like the only game for me. So can anyone sell me on the game? Is it worth it? Fun? Relatively long? Thanks.

Every past sale? It was $3 *ONE* time, and it's been $5 one other week. Although both of those were in 2013.

So while it probably will be extremely cheap again at some point (no gaurantee), I'd say it's worth a shot for $5. It does get repetitive though.

Don't forget it'll probably be free one month.

Forgive me, I thought both previous 2013 appearances had it at $3.

It came out in 2012 and has no DLC, nope.
The DLC thing is bugging me the more I think about it. I don't think they choose GamesWithGold titles based on that. Not only are games like Crackdown and Rainbow Six Vegas not heavy in DLC, but when Dead Rising 2 was their choice, they also gave out the most likely DLC purchase to go along with it, Case Zero. I understand the logic of making money off some of these via map maps and the like, but to outright claim you know they won't give it away because "No DLC and Here is a fake release date of 2012" is absolutely silly.

It came out MID 2011, to clarify, and while it lacks DLC that doesn't rule it out.

For the most part there's a motive behind giving away the games. Promotion for a franchise, sales of DLC, whatever. I can't imagine El Shaddai will ever be free if there's no sequel or DLC to sell.

It's a UTV Ignition, every other game released for Games with Gold or whatever has been Ubisoft, Microsoft or whatever other major company. Also you're looking waaay too hard in me mistaking it as a 2012 game.

EDIT: Microsoft, Ubisoft and Capcom. Those are only companies who have had dealings with Games With Gold.

First, I wasnt looking "wayyy to hard" into the 2012 thing, I was pointing out that you stated it as a fact, and not only was the statement not a fact, it's backed up by the wrong year.

Second, Microsft, Ubi, and Capcom are the ONLY companies to be included in Games with Gold? Really? Seriously? Do you know who published Defense Grid? Magic 2013? Iron Brigade?

I'd rather not, and would'nt want to watch video walkthroughs. Thanks, but if I get it and play thorugh it, I want the whole game to be new to me and not know anything.

But that's why I asked for others' opinions.

Hey Rip, Max is really good. I'm enjoying it so far. Its clever and intuitive. Worth $15, even from this cheap ass.
Thanks man. I'm considering it very much at this point. I've got $33 in credit, and am waiting to see what else is on sale first. If nothing else good releases, I'll probably get Max. Then sell the 3month code, lol.

Doesn't mean it could'nt or won't.

Um, Microsoft Studios published all three of those games you listed. So yeah, apparently I do.

And I got the wrong year and I said I got it wrong as well so...yeah.

Iron Brigade was my mistake to list there, but the others are Hidden Path Entertainment and Wizards of the Coast. Again, just saying it's really silly to claim there is some predetermined formula for the games they choose, when you know no more about the way they pick them than anyone else does.

Edit - Additionally, what of the overseas choices if you claim that ONLY Microsoft Studios, Capcom, and Ubisoft are chosen as Games with Gold contenders?

Nope, those other two were still published by Microsoft Studios at least for the 360 on XBLA. If you go on either dashboard or on the XBox website and get the overview those two are credited Microsoft Studios published.

And until that game goes on GwG or lesser known companies are included in the promotion I'm going to continue saying nope. Especially considering they still got plenty of budget games they can toss at us like Viva Pinata or older XBLA games that don't sell (looking at you, original Prince of Persia).

Okay, if we're gonna get down to who got them on XBLA, then I guess some may have different publishers in that case. Either way you want to break it down, primary publisher or who got it onto the Xbox Marketplace, the Games with Gold titles aren't necessarily gonna fit into this mold you seem to be stating as fact.
