At first i thought the theme was darkness or stealth. Then SR4 pops up and major nelson confirms it's just tis the season pass. Should've been with TWAU instead of a separate day.

Someone mentioned Happy Wars listed for the last day? Hope not. And there are deals on the 1st as well usually or no?

Season passes?  Alright, Microsoft.  Happy $%^#ing Holidays to you.  I'm done with this "sale".

To reiterate others in the thread....State of Decay's problems are not gamebreaking...especially after the patch.  If you enjoy the gameplay of the demo...yes forget that time you swung your bat through that zombie without making contact....or that time you crawled out of the window and got stuck for a few seconds...the real question was....

did you have fun making sneak runs into buildings filled with zombies and experience the thrill of escaping with the goods, or mowing down groups of them with a Honda civic, or freak out as your sneak attack failed because there were zombies behind you?  The game pulls of the the survival factor well...

The point is...don't focus on State of Decay's problems when you are trying it.  The game may not be for you but the unpolished nature may fool you into thinking that.

State of Decay, I own it and haven't been able to get into it.  I HATE, hate hate hate that it continues on while you're not playing.  When I had initially read reviews and previews for the game I didn't see that mentioned at all so was extremely surprised when I started to play.  I have three kids and do photography on the side and I simply just do not have time to HAVE to check in on something like that.  If I would have seen that mentioned in reviews or if it was made more apparent elsewhere I wouldn't have bought it.

Then there's the actual game itself, I'm sorry I agree with the guy who said it feels like an beta or something.  The graphics, animation, controls, menus, everything feels like a beta version of a game.  In fact I'd say it maybe even feels like an alpha version in some regards.  The CONCEPT is there, just not the execution and I have been stunned at all the good reviews it's gotten and how well many gamers have received it.  I know it's been patched and I have really dove fully back into since the latest patch so I'll give it at least one more chance before it gets uninstalled.

Any opinions on Charlie Murder?
I loved it. It's a great game (if playing with a buddy), and it took us about 8 hours to finish it. The leveling up system and how they did things is a lot of fun, and the variety of enemies is nice as well. I think it's my favorite purchase so far, especially for $3.

That's the whole point of State of Decay^

It's basically a zombie/apocalypse sim

I'm pretty sure they fixed it so that no one will die while you're gone but your resources are used because it makes it more realistic, if they didn't get used, it would get to the point where you wouldn't even need to gather more.

Also, in case anyone wasn't aware, if you don't play for a day, your stuff will have a noticeable drop. If you don't play for a month, the usages slows way down to almost a pause.

I guess I got spoiled with the holiday sales from the past two years.

I look forward to these sales for markdowns on XBLA games and DLC. Really didn't like how many of the daily deals were consumed with GoD sales since there are always other channels for getting retail games dirt cheap. Heck, L4D2 went on sale the day after it was given away for free on Steam.

Season passes suck.  What a joke of a sale day for that one.  Good thing the weekly deals are good this week because these daily ones have just been terrible.

Having spent some real good time with it finally last night, here are reasons to spend the $15 on NCAA 14 if you're still on the fence because throughout the week I've continues to see people ask about it on here.

*  Users have "fixed" the rosters you can download so that actual names, looks, and attributes of real rosters (Manziel on A&M, Winston on Florida St., McCarron on Alabama, Dennard on Michigan State, Clowney on S. Carolina, etc).  If you're unfamiliar with what that means, by default EA can't legally include player names when the game ships, so users go in and fix them instead.  Fire it up, tell it to grab the rosters from user "pastapadre", and boom, you're good to go.  There might be errors in there, just a handful, but they're almost always of bench players and you won't notice anyways.  If you don't like pastapadre's, Google around and there are a good 2 or 3 other respected roster makers you can choose on XBL instead, as well as some others that get mixed results.

*  The TeamBuilder allows you to download user-created teams for things like some Div. II and Div. III schools, notable high schools, and some All-Time teams for FBS schools.  YMMV with some of them, but by and large they're pretty good and add something to the game with their presence.  I think you get 12 slots to create your own or download other extra schools.  That should be plenty.  Truthfully, I don't know why you'd need more, you could say create an entire Div. II conference if you wanted with that many slots.

*  The "Road to Glory" mode is great.  You start out in high school, play a high school season to attract attention and scholarships from colleges, and then get to sign on with one.  If you play as say a QB, this means you can skip whenever your defense is on the field if you like, and just play offensive downs, which cuts down on game times and lets you progress through your career quicker.  By default, the play is chosen for you, you just need to run it.  So if you're not confident with playcalling, this mode does it for you and expects you to just run the chosen play well (or if you're a QB you can always audible out of it still).

*  If you're fairly new to NCAA, there's a pretty thorough tutorial you can go through first, and run through individual drills and items and many times as you need.  Running things like the Option can be complex, so extra practice at first can be a big difference.  However, there's no reason you ever NEED to run the Option in the game if you don't want.  You can play fine without say calling aubiles at the line, doing pump fakes, etc, but mastering them does make the game much much easier and adds a lot to it.

*  There's the obligatory Ultimate Team Mode.  I wouldn't get attached to it, as I don't know how long the EA servers for the game will stay up, and once they go down Ultimate Team is inaccessible.  I got burned by that with NHL 11, won't ever mess with that again.

*  If you like a game that stays difficult to play or continues to offer challenges, NCAA is maybe the most-complex sports game out there.  There's always learning to master the two types of Option offenses, and one of the Achievements asks you to win a National Title in your first season of Dynasty using one of the 3 or 4 absolute worst teams/programs in the game.

Ultimately, if you're just going to add it to a big backlog, you probably don't need to buy NCAA 14.  $15 is still a lot IMHO to just add something to a backlog (unless your backlog isn't very big I guess).  If you'll actually play it though or are interested in it, $15 gets you a looooooot of game for a series that's been around since the mid-1990's and sadly won't be around anymore because Ed O'Bannon had to go ruin it for everyone.

Cool. You sold me on it. Thanks!

Saints Row the Third was insanely fun. My only complaint is that there's alot less side missions compared to 2, but it's still an overall fun game with some great moments (especially some key music choices). SRIV on the other hand...honestly, play the Third first because IV is really just a big expansion of the last game. Meaning same city and locations, but even with some new weapons and super powers added it still doesn't feel like a full on sequel or take as much as a leap from the first to the second or second to the third.
SR2 was my favorite, solely because of the abundance of side quests. SR3 was leaps and bounds beyond SR2 graphically and whatnot, but the fact they stripped so much side content bummed me out. After a week, I was done with it to almost 100% completion (aside from the chop shop car requests, which IMHO is boring as shit)

SR4 was fun, too, but the super powers just seemed to remove 75% of the challenge of the previous games. That one was a Day-1 preorder for me, but ended up being a 3-day Redbox rental for me and I played it to satisfaction and moved on.

The sales today are for season passes? What a joke. Overall I've been real disappointed with their holiday sale this year. The past two year's were great but this one was weak. I wanted to buy Ducktales but even at half off it's still overpriced.

Serious? DuckTales isn't overpriced at 7.50. Get over yourself.

Why all the hate for season passes? They offer dlc at a discount and with these sales, the discount is even greater. I wonder if people are confusing them with online passes.

I think they're just expressing discontent toward DLC in general. I too dislike the idea that Season Passes even exist, namely because nobody can decide what the fuck that MEANS, with fucking Gearbox releasing a second wave of BL2 DLC that season pass holders get to pay full price for individually. Stay classy, Gearbox. Almost the one year anniversary of Aliens Colonial Marines forever slandering your name. Nicely done!

On the contrary, I was waiting for Injustice Season Pass to go down in price. In addition, I purchased ACIV Season Pass at the discounted price so I can now download it for the XBox One (which I have) at no charge.

Id say this is the one and only sale XboxOne owners really benefit from this whole two week period. Haha.

I think the sales have been fine. The daily sales have been meh, for me personally but others will like.  The saving grace was the weekly holiday sale.  It contains some gems and a free game!  Not bad overall.  The only game I would like to see is minecraft at least half off.  Some more GoD titles at 75% off is always nice, like Gears of War Judgement or DMC.

Honestly, that's the one season pass I would skip. You still have to buy the extra 2 fighters (IMO the best one's) and then you don't get all the nice dlc costumes that came out for the game. Just "buy" the ultimate edition at GS, install the dlc, return and buy the vanilla game for cheap.

Give me a break. Are people still complaining about the Borderlands 2 Season Pass "problem?" You got as much or more DLC from their season pass as you get from any other season pass. Yes, it wasn't "All Inclusive" but so what? They delivered what they described, so that should be enough.

You don't sound very cheap ; /

hello!? :nottalking: 7.50 is still a lot!!! Many folks played DuckTales back in the day, and personally I would not pay 7.50 for nostalgia trip.

If it was around 3.50, than yes it would be right up my CheapAss valley

My point is if the purpose of a Season Pass is truly to pass savings onto gamers, and not, as I believe, to get even more money beyond a fucking pre-order down before the game is even out. Why so Season 2 pass? Pitchford literally LAUGHED at the fucking question when he was asked, and you want me to believe that dick want's us to get content at a good value? Yeah, no. I love Borderlands 2 and the DLC is solid, but to pretend for a moment that they arent squeezing that thing for every dime fans and passerby are worth is a fantasy.

My point is 50% off, and that making it under 10 bucks for what equates to the HD remake most wanted this whole generation is a silly thing to go out of your way to complain about.

If you have to ask, I don't know what to tell you. DLC is already out of control, Season Passes only make it worse.

This post is funny because in past two years people were always clamoring that GoD hardly ever went on sale. I think Microsoft had a good mix this year.

well we can either complain about it or just ignore it. looks like DLC sales day in December is going to be a thing moving forwards since they had one the last year (or two?)

Like I said, my opinion is that they're a waste because there's almost always a way to get a retail game cheaply. I'll admit there have been some exceptions during this sale, like NCAA 2014 for $15.

XBLA and DLC comes from one place only. Given how rare sales have been on MSP or their new equivalent, sales are virtually the only way to get this content at a reduced price.

I was hoping for the WWE 2014 season pass to be included but of course it's not.

I think I might get FN:Champion off the weekly sales list.

I haven't bought much from all these sales....certainly not like some have. I'm just not into indy/non big budget games admittedly.

I've bought Castle of Illusion and DuckTales Remastered but that's it so far.

Pass on season sets. Hell, I don't even have those games. Plus this gives me time to go out to Gamestop and get an Xbox card.

Thanks, Microsoft.

Still hoping for a sale on ME DLC. I still haven't done my insanity / renegade / 100% achievement play through because I've been waiting on a price drop for The Citadel.

Has Rayman Legends been up yet?  If so that sucks I missed it...if not any chance it will?  Looks like even if it does go up in the US eShop it'll probably still be so expensive won't even be worth it anyway.

I know Sleeping Dogs was free through Playstation Plus. Guardian of Light may have been as well, I'm not sure.

Either way, two good games so I'm not complaining. Check them out.
