Humble Bundle Thread

Really? The fact that Joe Danger is the only game in the lower tier I don't have is incredibly disappointing. Bit trip is supposed to be pretty good, same w/to the moon. Never played either, but i think they both look better than joe danger.
I enjoyed both Runner 2 and Joe Danger 2 when I played them. They are worth picking up for sure.

I hated the first BitTrip Runner, mostly because I don't much care for precision platformers.   Enjoyed the sequel more though, which means i'm probably just a graphics whore.

I only have Papo &  Yo.  I'd pay $1 for moon and runner.  I'm interested in Reus, but not at $6 for BTA.  Hopefully the average will drop over the next few days.

Worked fine on my Mac, brosef. Don't think I had a single crash in the 30 or so hours I put in.
You're on a textbook cookie-cutter machine, of course it's going to work right.

You had me curious enough to download it and actually fire it up. I think a first for me to do both on the same day as purchase and guess what?

[customspoiler=Survey says...]It ran fine for me.[/customspoiler]
Which means something about my machine is causing it to choke. It could be the CPU.

You trying to run it in triple eyefinity or something, breh?  That said, having played through all the current 'content' in the latest build I wouldn't recommend anyone touching it until they deem it in release state.  You'd probably end up spoiling your experience with the game.  It has tons of potential but is extremely bare bones right now.

Reus looks neat, but not $6 neat.  I want Papa and Joe Danger, so I'll wait and see what the future BTA is first.  Else, it's a $1.

So what's up with that surgeon simulator game anyway? All I know about it is from watching the humble video about this bundle but it looks ridiculously bad. I like when the arm answers the phone and the cord goes through the middle of it.
It's kind of a joke. It's entertaining in that it's completely ridiculous, but it also kind of makes you wish the joke would be over and it would control with even a small amount of precision. I had as much fun at the title screen messing around with the desk as I did doing the actual "surgery". Worth a play - but for cheap.

I bought Reus last year and played it very briefly. It looks better than it is really. It's one of those games that didn't grab me immediately, but I think something must be there and I plan to revisit.

BTA still trickling down at a rate of ~$0.01 per 20 minutes.
This is what CAGs will look like when it reaches $1.

Ok, just got home from work (cannot access CAG or any gaming sites including humble bundle).  Who was able to score the Starbound from this bundle?  Did HB get more than the original 1,000 keys for Starbound?  I received my HB announcement email at 711pm tonight and no mention of Starbound.  I am torn about this type of marketing with this current humble bundle.  1,000 keys for mystery game (announced at launch of bundle) that inflates the BTA beyond what is normal for these bundles.  1,000 keys went how fast?  On slickdeals, I think most could not get it past the first 4 or 5 minutes.  I am hoping that humble does not try this technique again too soon without making it more fair to obtain a key.  When this was being talked about, I honestly thought the minimum would have been around $25.

I already have To the Moon and Papa & Yo along with both OSTs.  I am curious about the second week's additions but am kind of not wanting to pull the trigger for current BTA at $5.80.

The first 1,000 with Starbound were gone in under a minute. I didn't get one.

- I have "To the Moon".

- Joe Danger 2 looks like it will just frustrate me (difficult trial and error game, like "Trials"). Oh wait... local co-op? I DO love local co-op...

- Papa & Yo looks good, and might have a "Brothers" emotional vibe.

- Runner 2.... at first I thought this was an endless runner. It looks like... it's not? It's a music game? Hmmmmmm....

I'll probably go in for $1, but will need to see something special added to beat the average.

It's a pretty sleazy tactic as the venture capitalists motivating Humble now look to squeeze more and more out of it.  Obviously they're still good deals but offering limited supplies is lame.  Especially an amount as low as 1,000 which they knew would sell out in a minute.

Joe Danger is MUCH more forgiving than Trials, I'd say it's closer to a platformer that happens to have some tricks built into it.

Runner 2 is a runner, just not endless. The music is cool and is affected by how you play, but I wouldn't really call it a music game.

If you have TTM and Papo then you have the highlights of Tier 1. Wait for the BTA to drop. That's what I'm doing. It went from $7.22 this afternoon to $5.79 a few minutes ago. It will probably steadily decline until the second week's announcement. I expect it to level off ~ $4.

If you don't have Papo, it's worth the $1. Plus you can gift TTM to someone who doesn't have it. What's wrong with you? Do you hate humanity? :cold: Seriously, though, see my above comment about BTA-dropping.

damn I missed Starbound
Eh, I looked at Starbound's Early Access page. I'm really starting to hate Notch for turning every third indie game into a Minecraft clone. Starbound looks like a pixel-coated piece of crap that isn't remotely worth $10, either by itself or with other stuff thrown in to make it seem more appealing.

I am still not sure what to think of this bundle, the only games I didn't have are Joe Danger 2 and Runner 2. I will be getting the $1 tier when the average gets lower but Joe Danger will probably be the bonus next week so that means I have to BTA.

I am not that excited about Runner 2 because there is a high chance we will see the game in a future Humble Weekly for Gaijin Games.

I share the same sentiments as indef and Motoki, maybe I should have less expections from Humble and just grab the games at the price that is appealing to me from now on.

I got Starbound. There were 600-ish keys left when PayPal refreshed the page and I got my game keys.

A friend wasn't that fast but she got a key a few hours later - she missed the first 1000 keys but managed to get a purchase before the counter on the site went down to 0 or something so they counted it.

Joe Danger isn't really like Trials and is a ton of fun, as is Runner 2. See below...

Both are great, see below...

I very much disagree. While TTM is great, and I'm excited to play Papo & Yo, Runner 2 and Joe Danger 2 are both fantastic games well worth more than a slice of what this bundle costs.

The former is an excellent rhythm runner, very much like the original but far more accessible (in a good way) with more variety, loads of replay value, and tons and tons of charm poring out of it. It's just good fun, and is easy to pick up for a few minutes or hours depending on what sort of gaming mood you are in. It's far and away the best game Gaijin has ever made, and one of my favorites from last year.

Joe Danger looks a bit like Trials but it's really not. It's far more forgiving and easy going, and is less focused on crazy speed runs and courses, and more collecting hidden stars and pulling off stunts. It's like Excitebike had a baby with a platformer (though you needn't be a fan of the genre to enjoy it). There's a ton of content, nicely assorted objectives, and like Runner 2 is perfect for either pick up and play or longer sessions.

I played them already on PS3 and loved them enough I will be going back to 100% them again, quick as the bundle will drop...

I haven't allotted Humble a Penny since they switched from steam-keys to steam-links. The poorly managed 1k limited game is an odd gaffe for HIB.

The it's gonna be bundled soon hype was out of hand in December. It was too rediculious. I didn't believe it at the time, but there was no point in arguing with such zealots. I bought the indie games that I wanted that I'll be able to get around to in the near future. I believe they stand a good chance of being bundled, but I don't want to wait the year or two for that to possibly happen. An older version of this hysteria is the OMG-don't-buy-Torchlight 2 it's gonna be bundled. TL1 was bundled as a promo for TL2's release.

Yes we've all been bitten by indie games (sometimes AAA games) that have been bundled before we got around to them, but that's no reason to stop buying games we want. It merely calls for a bit more reason in buying games at a rate commensurate to the rate we play them.

The most rational thought would be to stop buying games outside of bundles until we have have worked our way through our rich game libraries, either beating, playing until time-to-abandon, or completely writing off. That said, I don't this this rational approach would be the most pleasurable... and well, I play games for enjoyment.

Therefor I am simply tempering my buying to what I want and reasonably believe I'll get around to playing.

This is a reasonable and well thought out argument... which is clearly wasted in a Humble Bundle thread where the next 3 posts will be
"Joe Danger = poop"
"Startbound had only 1,000 copies? fuck you HB."

nope, was gifted all those except bit strip runner 2 during the holiday sales and starbound was gone in 30 seconds.

Thanks! I actually got in on Papo & Yo. I'm likely going to buy the $1 tier myself though, so I'll just end up paying that forward when I get it.

Turtles are evil.
Oh yeah, I clearly fear for my life around these guys:

Don't mind her. She's only "changed" because she spent $30 on Assetta Corsa when it was 25% off. She's just doing it to try to make herself feel better about her own sins.

Gifting a steam link removes your DRM-free version... this is annoying when you already own the game on steam... and especially when it's an Android bundle.
