This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

So, anybody been playing the Broken Age beta? I'm kinda wondering if I should redeem my key or sell it now and wait for the game to hit a big sale later in the year.  Reviews are making it sound mighty tempting, though.

Was having trouble with my card being registered outside of the country I live in. Meant I could not buy anything from Steam without paying huge fees. Customer supports solution? Give me a link which just shows me British prices and yet it won't let me check out at all since I am in Sweden *sigh* back to that trade thread.

I'm not sure if this has been brought up here yet but.......

Moar info from the dev:
More gameplay features will be revealed such as simplified painting process. Game need early access to polish gameplay. Also you can google Titian for more details.

DaVinci is minor character in this game yet is main character in Defense of DaVinci.

@Skoardy You play from first person and "shoot" paint - so it is action/shooter. As Titian you improve city so It is a strategy/simulation. Rpg elements come with character and city progression. Platformer/sports comes with roofjumping. Music and horror not yet implemented. And game is casual overall. Sounds strange but main idea is genre fusion. Yes, video and more screenshots are coming - at moment just some technical difficulty.

@Mircea The Young
Maybe if you actually google "Titian" you would find out that Titian was an Italian painter, the most important member of the 16th-century Venetian school and then description makes a perfect sense.

Right now only Titian. In future could be added more renaissance artists.

@timesovgrace
Game itself will provide more seconds of uncontrolable laughing
So no tears only dreams now

@fortuiteer
It may seems that scaling of buildings is random but it was specially tested and still in test. Main question is how much time player wants to sacrifice to get from point A to point B? One part of game is speed and jumps so it either getting faster and player can barely see anything or things are just small. You can take jet set radio future for example cause this part of the game kind of remind it: level is not so big but player has plenty things to do.

Other part of game is constructing more city blocks and upgrading them.
Abilites at moment are higher jumps, faster movement, city upgrades

And game still 'work in progress' so of course it seems empty but more intersting things are coming to the game.

Apparently KISS will be sending Steam keys for Gun Metal and Guilty Gear Isuka to GamersGate and GMG.. so if you bought the Indie Gala Dwarves bundle, you should get a Steam key for each game. Who knows when they'll be added though.

Alternatively, if you want to get a key faster, you can contact them using the email or contact form on their site providing proof of purchase.

So If I redeemed it on Gamergate I get a free key? Cool!

yeah because gamersgate is so good about providing steam keys for past purchases
Don't know if sarcasm or real statement. Only ever used it for a few things in the past and those things are SRS, Guilty Gear Isuka, Gun Metal, and getting one Just Cause 2 DLC using Blue Coins.

Valve founder Gabe Newell said he will answer questions on Reddit if The Heart of Racing charity reaches $500,000 for the Seattle Children's Hospital.

Gaben is going to show up and answer questions about Reddit, thus trolling everyone who shows up in their Gordon Freeman LARP gear.

I do get the impression that a lot of publishers feel like they got too sale crazy in 2012-2013 which might explain the less than thrilling winter sales and slow start for the Amazon EC sale. Yeah, you can boost sales short term with a discount but if everything is always being discounted then there's no incentive to buy it at MSRP, even if you want to play it soon since it'll likely be on sale in a few weeks. Everyone mocked that one EA guy for talking about sales cheapening your IP but it feels as though more publishers are getting on board that train.
They're free to think anything they want. I'm free to keep my money in my wallet. I don't have stockholders, and I don't need more solid-gold plumbing fixtures for my superyacht. I can wait.

No titties. No win.
Milla's jubblies appear in the film. But they're not the primary reason I keep rewatching it: the soundtrack is amazing.

As opposed to Menses Academy, which would be the worst game ever.

Project Greenlight, here I come!
I hear that the graphics are unsettling, but they really flow.

The current Poll of the Day at GameFAQs is relevant to our interests.

What do you think about Steam's Early Access program, where you can buy and play games while they're still being developed?

What I've played so far is really pretty good. The puzzles aren't difficult, but the atmosphere and story are what keep you going. If you don't want things spoiled, it's worth going ahead and playing presently.

I must have read different reviews... http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2014/01/broken-age-act-one-review-not-quite-kick-finished/

Sweet. I wonder if I can get another steam key from my GOG version of GG:I...

Street Racing Syndicate from that bundle deserves to be on steam... it's a pretty decent NFS U2 knockoff.

I just finished Act 1 tonight, took me about 4.5 hours. I loved what was there, the writing and voice acting were top notch and I dug the art style. The gimmick of Broken Age, the ability to swap characters at anytime to play through the other story, is really neat, and keeps you playing because you want to see how these two very separate stories will intertwine. However, because the focus is split between these characters, it didn't give a lot of room for exploration or deeper character development. There were a lot of side characters who I wanted to see more of, who will hopefully pop up again in the finale. I thought the puzzles were much easier than Day of the Tentacle or Secret of Monkey Island, for reference. I hope Act 2 comes with some trickier puzzles, but overall I was pleased.

Thanks for the thoughts on Broken Age, guys. I'm looking forward to trying it out. Maybe I'll play it with my girlfriend; she might enjoy it.

And now I'm bummed that I missed out on Guilty Gear. Would have loved to add it to my fighter collection. I wish they'd release more of them on Steam.

Probably not for those that got it from GOG because the developer mentioned that GOG buyers generally want DRM free, so far only GamersGate and Green Man Gaming will be given the keys for distribution.

I might still try. If I can't get a Steam version GOG's my choice runner up. I don't imagine I'm alone in that... I mean I don't count on getting updates from GG... (though they've been pretty good about updates).

Everyone's missing one vital element here: you'll not only be able to extreme jump on rooftops, but you'll have the privilege of extreme jumping off flooftops as well. This innovative technology doubles the dynamicity of the game, exponentially. Not even Assassin's Creed has flooftops, and that franchise has sold millions.

Game. fuckin. Changer.

HEADS UP:

You can now get your Gunman Clive Steam keys from the Greenlight bundle and also Indie Royale Debut bundle (the first one).

Watched Carlmundo play this for a bit and it looks fun.

Chaz, geez.

All I remember about that game was the cover art...I imagine a good number of people bought for that reason alone.
