Exactly, the Wii U has pulled an impressive holiday season despite the doomsayers and new consoles. In fact, its already pretty much neck and neck weekly sales with the Xbox One. I've watched as the public perception has changed towards it and though Nintendo messed some things up, the Wii U isn't going anywhere.
PS4 and xbox one both nearly matched wiiu's 1 year+ plus total sales in just a couple months individually.

And perception hasn't really changed much on it. Its not as bad as it once was but its still pretty much dead in the water and will only survive through the fact it has Mario and Zelda, only a few pure long running franchises will keep it afloat and nothing else.

And if reddit and vgchartz are your sources then you should reevaluate what you consider credible sources.

The figures that Nintendo put out means that Nintendo is guessing sales from Oct 1 - March will = 2.4 million. That means they're expecting a total install base at the end of the current quarter to be 6.25 million.

2,800,000 Wii U's sold from April 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014 is dismal.

MS in regards to Xbox. X.x just clarifying before the onslaught. e.e I'm on a smartphone.. I'll give sources later but it can all be googled easily.
Oh ok, I don't need sources. I know Xbox is not a shining spot on the MS financials pages. Hell, one of the top candidates for the new CEO position wants to sell the Xbox brand. (Something I'd like to see happen, for personal reasons).

As for what Eldritch said, yeah the leadership at MS is definitely in turmoil. As a former Windows Phone owner it was easy to see that MS is definitely not well organized. It's not that MS support of Windows Phone was bad across the board, it's that it was unbelievably spotty. We'd go months without hearing any news and then suddenly there would be an influx of content and it would look like MS had righted the ship, but then everything would go back to silence and an absence of support. It was weird. But that's a leadership issue more than a financial issue. Financially, MS is doing well.

so anyone confirm these prices aren't in store besides that one dude who bought W101?
They are on the website, and every store is supposed to match the website. Therefore the prices are confirmed. If someone at the store gives you any shit about it have them pull it up on bestbuy.com and that should be the end of it, or you can just do site to store pickup.

wow i didnt realize the wii u was doing THAT bad. smh... way to blow it nintendo.

You could always do an in-store pickup order if you're concerned about prices not carrying over to the store.
but if they price match site I feel like they will give me trouble getting my GCU and I can't store pickup since they have 1-2 copies left and it won't let me pick up there :(

I bought my ME Trilogy almost a year ago at the same price. It seems real stubborn about becoming cheap for gamers.
ME2 for PS3 took a while to hit $20(although when BB dropped it to $5 how could you say no)

Man, I really miss Best Buys free shipping. It seems like I've barely bought anything from them since they started charging. I'd be all over GTA 4 for $7, but the $3 shipping kills the deal for me :whistle2:?
Where you silver?
Hopefully, they copycat amazon prime

That is an awsome deal. I has always been frustrated that Nintendo's games never drop in price until the console is dead.
waiting nintendo can take forever, I`ve done b2g1 & traded 2 in elsewhere just to get the ideal price.

I agree, I find the GCU stuff annoying too. I don't have any of those memberships and I never will.
It`s better if both anounts are posted that way the mathmatically challenged aren`t consistantly asking.
Are you anti paid rewards program b/c you don`t see the value in it.

Are you serious? Move the decimal to the left one space, and multiply by 2. That's all it takes to calculate the discount. Anybody who graduated 5th grade should be able to do that.

I'd hope that if some dumbass was wanting to know the GCU price for a new game people would have the common sense to just ignore it. A far likelier problem is that a CAG browses a thread, sees the GCU price and mistakes it for a sale price just to be burned after getting to the store.

Unless you are trying to calculate savings after applying a GCU coupon or some sort of GCU only sale, then just leave the GCU prices off. I'm confident that anybody smart enough to work a keyboard and find this site can figure out the discount themselves.

I may have missed it but didn't see it listed-Donkey Kong Country Returns for Wii is also $23.99 (~$19.99 with GCU). Not bad for a first party Nintendo title that may not be around a lot longer with Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze set to release next month.

Also Amazon PM for those that are interested. Links below:

They have to figure in GCU members that get 20% off even sale prices.
Same thing I thought and was pretty disappointed.

Do you remember the amount of repeat ?`s in the @gamer threads.
And that was just a simple $10-$20 off whatever the price was it seemed like the same ?`s posted every other page. I agree it shouldn`t be that hard but you have been on CAG long enough to know.

The key words there are "@gamer threads". I don't raise an eyebrow when I see GCU prices listed in the @Gamer coupon threads. I'm just saying it shouldn't be done on other threads, or at least not in the first post. It can easily be mistaken for an actual sales price by anybody quickly browsing through the thread. Besides, those were a bit different, where you would have normal prices stacking with sales or discounts stacking with coupons. Seeing as how it was an @Gamer thread anyways though it really doesn't matter.

What people have been doing now is the equivalent of posting any Gamestop sales, but instead of posting the actual sales price posing the PUR discount price, or posting the two next to each other. It can potentially screw somebody up if they are just quickly flipping through the forums.

Anyways that's just my 2 cents....

o.o went from a fanboy war to a rage against GCU. :x I love GCU. Got it for $30 ($5 after KH remix LE debacle) and the sh*t paid for itself on black Friday alone. And I have this for 2 entire years. :]

I was waiting for a B1G1 Half off for W101

But clearance? Does that mean bestbuy wont buy anymore?
People on this site have told me that before but I don't think it's true.

I remember Starhawk being on clearance for $10 last Summer but Best Buy never stopped carrying it. Same deal when Ni No Kuni was dropped to $20.

You should have just price matched their own website to get the lower price.
I thought of going to the customer service desk to get that done, but I remember that you can't get the GCU discount in conjunction with a price match. I know I probably could have explained it to them and get the correct price, but I've already had quite an ordeal trying to redeem my physical copy coupon of the GCU 2 years for $30.

This $25 free shipping threshold is very annoying.
Try $35 for Amazon now.

Also FYI if BB online sells out and your local store sells out, GS sells Wonderful 101 for $30 now. Not $24 but better than $50 at WM, Target, or TRU.

Went ahead and bought Wonderful 101 and came out to $3.00 total for me since I had $25 in My Best Buy rewards. That game is going out of print fast where I live.

Guess it seems like everyone in here is deciding to get Wonderful 101, especially with OOP rumors.

Actually, you have no evidence of that because the "Xbox division" is actually part of the same division that puts out the surface tablets and other MS failed hardware. They don't breakdown the Xbox profits/losses from that division.

MS as a whole is actually generating massive profits and has about 6 times Nintendo's entire company value in just cash sitting on the sidelines. When you look at Apple (who I think should buy Nintendo) they have cash equal to 15 times Nintendo's value. That's straight cash, no need for a merger or stock swap or anything. Nintendo is small compared to Microsoft.
Was talking about the company as a whole and as I said I wasn't talking strictly about money. They're having yet another massive internal restructuring when that's been their theme over the last couple of years. Every report about them is in dwindling market shares, failed ventures, divestment, layoffs and people leaving for other companies. The consensus is that they've lost direction and it's clear the products are suffering from it. They're reportedly trying to sway away a CEO who's the hot property right now for turning around Ford specifically because they want him to put the same sort of plan into place. A company can be ailing without being in the red and MS seems to be smart enough to see that.

Wouldn't mind picking up a few of those, just a matter of me heading over there and them having the ones I want in stock, which by the time I get around to doing, they probably wont be..

They'll match their own prices and still give you the 20%. At least, that's how it's suppose to work.

you could of pulled best buy website up on your phone and added the game to the shopping cart which would of reflected the price after the GCU discount applied and they should of been able to easily match that price

I'm in the same situation but I'm not sure if calling to get back the $5 cert I used and also doing the return is worth the $4 to me.
Well, it ought to be automatic - the RZ cert should credit back to your account. Last time it didn't for me - but that was from an online order that they cancelled after 2 months because it was backordered. Hopefully for a straight-up return it works a little better.

price was differnt in store. asked to price match. wouldn't take GCU as well. asked nicely if I could price match the price online after GCU since I could just buy game online. they allowed it no problem. of course this is ymmv

It's hard to say but they are definitely trying to get rid of them. Nintendo saw it sell poorly in Japan before it came to NA. With the ability to sell the game on the eShop you have to wonder if Nintendo will keep printing physical copies. IDK what value a game would have to sell at for another print run to be profitable but I'm not sure I would expect a lot more to be printed. The question I'd like to know is how many were printed already?

Of course it's Nintendo we're talking about so.... At any rate those that want a copy will surely be able to find them for some time as other retailers try to move stock. Two different Wal Marts I've been in had 8+ copies so....

idk how many were printed in the US I have wondered to but I know in japan it was a limited 30,000 copies only for their launch of the game

Makes you wonder. I can't see many Wii U games getting a large initial print with the poor HW and SW sales. Especially non-Mario/Zelda titles!

Well I all I know is only 2 BB's in STL had it so I ordered it for in-store pickup since I had a $5 reward certificate. That made it $10 cheaper than it would have been at GS. I'll try it for that price.

W101 rang up as $29.99 in-store. GCU brought it down to $24 though.

Also, the BB website said the particular store had none instock but actually had one left.
For those in CA, there is a law against Best Buy bat and switch. You get $3 off your item if you catch the mistake when you buy the item.

I would have finally bit on GTAIV at this price point but I haven't received a mag or online coupons for months, even before renewing with the coupon.

whats with all the lolz for tank tank tank!? theres even a note in the op about it
Because it was free with a GCU coupon several months ago - though not available around me at all at the time (fortunately an awesome CAG sent me one). It is a fun couch multiplayer game (done the right way - first player on the Gamepad, second player full-screen on the TV).
