Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

Since I have 350+ days left before I can buy a new game, I am going to start crashing through my catalog of games during my days off.

So here is your chance to pick what games I play next. My catalog. Pick 3. Top 5 vote-getters will top my queue. Oh, and anything with less than 5 hours played is likely to just have been card farmed, and not actually played, so don't let that sway your decisions. Voting ends in 24 hours.
I'm going to go out on a limb and assume I cannot vote for the same game 3 times...? If so my list is as follows (and if I can its the first one times three.)

1) Bad Rats

2) DungeonBowl

3) Game of Thrones...

:D

I know what he means, and I hardly live in what could be called a 'humid region'. I had a Logitech mouse (G9) and over the summer, the rubber on the scroll wheel melted and pretty much just turned to sticky goo. Up until that point though it was a great mouse. As for PS2 controllers - I've found you can fix most of the stickiness by wiping them down a few times with Windex. ;)
You sure that sticky goop was from rubber melting and not a Sasha grey spanky psankey

Do you people live outside?  We have things called like AC and heating and windows and other shit where I'm from.  Makes whatever the fuck is outside stay outside.

People can call Razer overpriced for the name all they want, they still have the best shit on the market, beyond issues here and there that every company has (which are easily covered by excellent warranties).
Anecdotes aren't data but my anecdote is that the left button on my Razer Death Adder 2013 crapped out in less than a year. Not very impressed with the build quality. My Logitech MX Revolution lasted me years, probably 5+ before it had problems.

Thanks for the tip

I want it but Im convincing myself that I dont need it. I still have lots of arpg in the backlog. Hell, I havent dent the divinity directors cut.
I would but I backed it already. (got two keys, a friend and I are trying the alpha) Have high hopes for this one.

It's 0F at 10:30am where I live. Wind chill makes it feel like -11. Already brought my desktop outside and removed the side paneling for a bit o' nature's heatsink. The less I have to pay for electricity, the more bundles I can buy!

If I leave, say, PS2 controllers alone for 6 months or so? I come back and the rubber one the joysticks gets wet and sticky and weird.
This happens to me, it's not a humidity thing. When I tell other people about this they act like I'm crazy. I also get it on the sticks and the round part at the bottom of the sticks, even when it doesn't happen on the rubber tops. It sucks.

People can call Razer overpriced for the name all they want, they still have the best shit on the market, beyond issues here and there that every company has (which are easily covered by excellent warranties). I only had a problem because I live in a humid region. I fucking hate Logitech. Their stuff feels cheap, the ergonomics are crap (in general, their mice are way too fucking big), and they're not really a whole lot cheaper. I've never had a Logitech product I've liked. Hell, there are better mice than Logitech out there under brand names you wouldn't even know offhand.

But hey, if you wanna save twenty bucks thinking you're "smart" for not buying the better brand, go you! Maybe it'll go great with your Dell.
Well, IMO, Razer stuff is overpriced. I've bought a lot of it for my wife over the years because she likes the names and they look "cool." I'm not going to try to make any kind of argument that I'm a peripheral guru because I'm not. If it rolls and has some buttons I can click, that's what I need from a mouse. If it has actual keys that go clack-clack and a QWERTY layout, that's what I need from a keyboard. Damn near everything else is either fluff or gravy, depending on how you look at it. I've never really used a "gaming" mouse and I know some people swear by them, especially for "pew-pew" games. However, I have used a lot of Logitech peripherals over the years. I have a wireless mouse I've been using for years that works just fine and cost me about $30.

I've had a logitech optical mouse for like 15+ years it seems. I passed it onto my dad a few years ago and he's still using it. Now that I think about it, I got it for Xmas 2001.

Good luck. Doesn't even look like they plowed the city yet

Gotta love linda
Yeah, I called off yesterday because i knew it was gonna be a bunch of crap. Today is bull. I couldn't call off two days in a row because I'd get so far behind. The bigger roads are even a bit sloppy, but these backroads are bullshit. Especially for my dinky mazda 2. They haven't done ANYTHING to the roads through the city. I feel like the don't even put down salt. It's insane.

I used Logitech non-gaming mice until about a year or two ago.  Never had any issues with them.  I'm not a pro gamer, so maybe the better you are at something, the more you notice things or whatever.  I've been content using cheapy mice and just buying a new cheapy mice should they ever crap out.  I like trying different mice too so that works for me.  I'm sure that for the price some of those more expensive companies do offer something in return, but I'm sure brand recognition, psychological/placebo effect, etc. is included in that higher price.

Not all of us have AC...

This. I've got too many ARPGs in my backlog at the moment to settle for less than 75% off (and cheap). I should probably bubble one up to my playlist...

Dell & HP OEM mice are commonly rebranded Logitechs.

I buy peripherals that have the features I want.  I don't care if it's Razer or Logitech (but, both brands have treated me well) or whatever, as long as it does what I want.  And yes, I consider reliability a feature in today's day and age of constant evolving technology.

You're doing it wrong. You must buy the Brands/Styles/Colors that your peers tell you to.

OMG any self respecting gamer in 2014 has a Razor DU Wasted mouse, with a military grade lazer, radioactive green glow and adjustable Depleted Uranium weights.

Then just pick the one you like best. Or the one that screams the loudest. Or the one that isn't constantly ranting about its homicidal urges.

You'll figure it out.

Still looking...
I've got that part down, what I need help with is convincing people in the car with me that it's not evil if the other drivers don't KNOW I wish I had the ability to instantly vaporize them, amirite? They get so scared :whistle2:k

A site I sometimes use is myfitnesspal.com

Of course only works if you go to the site and log in, which I haven't done in months, but it might be something CAGs might want to do and network.
Ooooo, cool, fitness backlog FTW!

It's 44°F today, and a bit windy. Don't see what the problem is.

*puts on thermals*
It has climbed from zero to 8 this morning, *puts on more thermals* Oh, and I'd kill for your 44F, hmmm........

The laser is required to zap snarky dames comin' around and talking about my mouse.

How the fuck is no one talking about the shitty daily deal? It feels like gamersgate everytime I go to Steam now.
Clearly Steam is riding the wave of people giving out good reviews to already bundled games hoping to entice people to pick them up at greater than bundle pricing. I wonder how well that's actually working out for them.

Today's The Dark Eye giveaway proves that you should never BTA the humble weekly since it'll eventually be given away.

Nice info drop, but snagged this from the Daedalic bundle. Hopefully a bunch of CAGs will score something to add to their free collections of Fallout, Tex Murphy, and Beneath a Steel Sky games at GOG.

This looks pretty cool but I sense it is destined for a Groupees this year.

IMO, Razer isn't top-of-the-line. But it's also not trash. My first Razer mouse crapped out on me in under a year (common problem back then, where the button hits multiple times, or doesn't respond). But the free replacement is still working. Ten years later. The rubber on the buttons do feel sticky now though.

I have another Razer mouse that doesn't have rubber on the buttons. The paint started fading on one button like a month after I bought it. Other than that, it's been going strong for a year and a half.

Logitech has always made good products. Some are better than Razers, but they're not much cheaper, if at all. But my problem with them is that they usually feel weird. They're usually very "ergonomic" and curved. I change my mouse grip a lot, so those just won't work for me.

And it does matter a lot more if you're into competitive gaming. I used to notice the difference with subpar mice a lot more than nowadays, but I also don't really have a competitive mind in gaming any more. However, I will still stay way the fuck away from wireless mice. Because no matter what, there's always noticeable latency when you first move the mouse after some inactivity. It's less noticeable with wireless keyboards.

Hm. Honestly I don't notice any latency with my mouse. I suspect I'm not playing the kinds of games where it makes a significant difference, but I can't say that I have.

Then again, I may have a wired Logitech mouse. I'm not too sure what's wired and not over in that corner these days, but I'm pretty sure it's wireless. I also have a wireless Logitech gamepad that works quite well, as a rule (I'd still rather have a wired XBOX controller). Maybe it's the way I'm using this stuff. I had a Logitech wireless mouse/keyboard combo at work where the mouse crapped out about a month ago and the keyboard this week. Not sure if I should blame Dell, Logitech, or myself for that, but I'm using wired Dell mouse and keyboard now. I think that set lasted less than a year.

I think he means when the mouse goes into a battery saving low-power state and you need to jiggle it for a moment to turn it back on.

Which should have nothing to do with gaming, and is really only a minor inconvenience in pretty much every possible scenario.

Unless you need to quickly look up how to defuse a bomb.

Because you need to defuse a bomb.

That's a possible scenario where that lag might be problematic.

Yeah, Razer isn't bad.. but I'd only buy their stuff at clearance level prices. I bought a Razer Tarantula for $18 (clearance) several years ago and I'm still using it, but it's obvious the build quality is crap. I've had to press on a couple of the keys harder than the rest to get them to work ever since I bought it. I got used to it, and it's a nice keyboard for $18, but would've been disappointed if I had paid around $60-80 at the time (MSRP was higher than that).

As for mice, if you're a gamer and want wireless, you're going to need to spend a decent amount of cash to get a decent one. Logitech G700 is probably the best wireless mouse still in production for the price and performance. The only issue I can see with it is it's.. big, so if you have small hands, stay away. The Mamba (mouse that Idiotekque uses) has a $30 higher MSRP than the G700 and isn't as well regarded, so I have to agree Razer products are usually overpriced compared to the competition, especially considering they're known for worse build quality, and have worse customer support compared to their competitors..

I don't think Razer (or Steel Series or whatever) are bad, per se, just grossly overpriced for what they deliver to the average gamer (which includes 99.99% if not all of everyone posting here).  Same reason people buy Ralph Lauren/designer clothing.  The actual 'pro' gamers get all of their stuff for free from sponsors.  So the people buying them 'wanna be like Mike!'

It's 2014. You don't run to your computer. You ask Siri, Google Voice Search, or I guess Clippy if you're on Windows Phone 8 for "how to diffuse a bomb."

Then you ask 3 more times until it understands you and takes to an cleverly titled article about how Disney could have saved John Carter.
