This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

I thought that was gold as well.

For your 1000th game, how about Drunken Robot Pornography? It has drunkenness, robots, pornography, and Carlmundo!
sounds like an episode of Futurama

I work for the govt.....so
finally, our nsa spy has outed himself ;)

Blockland is a lotta fun, so far I've just been playing the Kart racing game. I'll have to branch out into the other parts of the game when I get bored of racing. Which might be a while.

Does this mean greater chance for mistakes?
I'd probably say a smaller chance. Instead of overworked Valve employees messing up when flipping deals, you have the devs themselves doing it and only for their own games so I would bet they would double and triple check as opposed to a Valve employee who wants to move on to the next price flip. Unless the Steam price change system is confusing and conducive to mistakes.

To be fair, this is only for Weeklong Deals and non-featured deals. Midweek deals, weekend deals, summer sale/dailies, all those are still put up by Steam and therefore still able to have price mistakes :p

This is what I was thinking. However, now we have a better chance of a dev from a very small team getting drunk and making a bad decision when his inebriated mind decides a sudden 90% off sale is a genius business move. Like that time your friend, you know that guy, ordered that stupid product from late night TV.

Major Mayhem steam keys were added to the Be Mine Anniversary Groupees bundle.  That was a pretty good bundle so I'm sure a lot of CAGs have it.  Major Mayhem was included as a free game once it reached a certain number of purchases; it wasn't a pick and choose it game so you're guaranteed to own it if you bought the bundle.

Considering some of them can't even seem to figure out Steam key distribution or keep from flipping out on the internet in a very public place after having become something of a public figure or realize that mass censorship and draconian over-moderation is pouring water on a grease fire I think you may give their level of intelligence too much credit. ;)

Happy to report I finished Gravity Badgers and got 17/18 achievements.  Unlocking the last one would require me to beat the game entirely again or idol for five hours, so I'll be passing.

My 4 in Feb looks like:

1.  OMG Zombies

2.  Shelter

3.  Gravity Badgers

4.  The Path or Windosill*

*Going to finish one of these to round out four before week's end.

I take it as an indication of a new/revamped sale scheduling system... which could reduce the number of Valve-run sale glitches... however I guess it'll probably mean more frequent sales on indie games... which shouldn't make a difference to the OMG-it's-gonna-be-bundled CAG contingent.

I think it'll make people more crazy/paranoid...games will go on sale more frequently, so there will be more times for people to go "aaahhfd i want this game but it's probably gonna be bundled...but that's a good deal...but if it's a good deal is dev just trying to squeeze as much profit out as they can before a bundle?"

The problem is that bundles don't really cater to us... we really need a mother-of-all-indie-bundles... e.g. A bundle with all indie games released on Steam in 2012... then later 2013... etc.

Hmmmmm... Just finished getting all (actually most) of my games into Backloggery and I would need to beat a game a day for five years to catch up. And by catch up, I mean I would still have over 50 games in my backlog. So:

I AM HEREBY DECLARING SIXTY IN MARCH!

MARCH through your backlogs with vigor as you beat 60 games in one month! Cry as you still have five years worth of games in your backlog if you could even beat one every day for five years! Laugh as you lose your sanity!

WHO IS WITH ME!?

Also:

Lunar Flight

AD5IW-B??KT-TAMYJ

?? = What you type in while hurriedly rage-quitting out of a Starcraft match.

If we choose the right games, it's possible.

Short games in March. MP only games. I figure playing 1 match should count as "finished."

I just picked up OMG Zombies in a CAG trade. Looking forward to playing it after reading your praise of the game. If I don't like it (I'll most probably like it) I won't blame you (I might blame you!). ;)

Actually March is March Madness Month, so it's a 64 game tourney of completing games. Better get started now.

No rush, March Madness doesn't even start until halfway through March.

Well, 51 + Indie Game: The Movie.

If you don't like I will let you choose the next game I will finish. I really hate shooters ;)

That's way past the amount of dedication I have. Getting to the end is a big enough challenge for me, especially given how some of these games require crazy achievements.

Just went ahead and finished both Windosill and The Plan so:

1. OMG Zombies

2. Shelter

3. Gravity Badgers

4. Windosill

5. The Plan

So that's two badgers, a fly, a toy truck, and a sniper.

Finished my four in February as well:

1. Marlow Briggs

2. Family Guy Back to the Multiverse

3. Dead Island Riptide

4. Killzone Mercenary

Also played the new Thief for about 2 hours and so far it seems pretty good. Not sure yet why it got such negative reviews, it definitely seems worth the $10 I got it for. It's a lot like Thief 3 which I guess could turn some people off. Sad about the change in voice actor for Garrett though, the new guy is just bleh.

How's you like the Family Guy game?

Yes!

Also, I predict chaos.

I found it to be shallow and pedantic.

It starts out okay (shooting frat guys, amish and cripples) but really began getting dull after a few levels with repetitive boring objectives. You're better off just watching repeats of the show, It's not worth the time playing unless you're a super fan.

All this RPG Maker DLC on sale... Not sure what all to grab, especially with the Workshop up now.

EDIT: Everyone uploading resources on the Workshop isn't allowing commercial use unless you contact them. Dealing with amateur contracts... no thanks. Looks like I'm grabbing a bunch of shit from this sale.

So its EXACTLY like watching the show?

Do you need the RPGmaker software to be able to download and play the games?  I don't really have much interest in attempting to create my own game, but wouldn't mind trying some of the games other people are making.

No, you don't RPGMaker downloaded and installed to play games made from it.

I just played Diablo 3 with the new patch, and I'm completely lost.  I haven't played since a month after launch, and I feel like every single skill on my lvl 60 monk is different!! And there are so many new modes and difficulty is handled differently, I have no idea what I'm doing.  So overwhelmed, haha.

The Ultionus developer is saying he won't give keys to Groupees because they didn't give him enough money. Apparently he's missing the part where the primary reason for a Greenlight game being in a bundle is exposure and that his game wouldn't have got in without that bundle.

He's doing the 'you can write to me and request a key' thing.

The saga is here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/279160/discussions/0/558748822757559320/#c558749190433207391 but the Steam commuity seems to be down for me at the moment.

*Edited to add: He's saying people can write him for a key. Better get in before his email server crashes.

"Attention Be Mine 11 (BM11) Purchasers! 26 feb 2014 If you have purchased a copy of the game through BM11 bundle you can now redeem your Desura key for a Steam Key. All you have to do is grab the Desura key BM11 provided you with, and email it to: [email protected] with email title "MB11 STEAM KEY REQUEST"

It's always the ugliest, laziest, stupidest indie trash games with the biggest asshat devs. Never fails.

These whiny bitching indie developers of late are getting really tedious... and giving them all a bad name. I'm sure a whole group of people are getting tired of it and its going to start to hurt their bottom line.
