Nice score! Now to hope I get one...The 215.88 (G) WII U 32 gb Mario Luigi bundle that I ordered came yesterday. It was a dinger, everything sealed brand new inside.
Yeah same here. I think all together I paid $32 w/tax after GCU and 5-10 I had in rewards. Pretty glad I was able to preorder when I did back at the start of this year. I figured it'd be a pretty rare game but I underestimated how rare it was going to be.It's crazy how much those BD:CE are going for. I pre-ordered mine from best buy for $30 after rewards points. I still haven't played it, but I'm glad I pre-ordered.
I think it has more to do with this being an se title so they didn't expect it to be rare. seems like it was under printed like xenoblade and unless they do a reprint expect ce's to hit maybe even 200.Some sellers were offloading theirs for $80 shipped just weeks ago. Rare + well received game = high secondary value. Some folks can't seem to comprehend this.
There are clues to a game or CE version being "rare" even before release, but usually if a game sells out of pre-orders and its a CE, chances are pretty high it's going to be rare and value will be high.I think it has more to do with this being an se title so they didn't expect it to be rare. seems like it was under printed like xenoblade and unless they do a reprint expect ce's to hit maybe even 200.
Good. It might be worth a ebay flip, or not. It's not worth my time to deal with that.finally saw a BD:CE, $61.75, wow
Its worth $2. I enjoyed it enough for $10.RE6popped up for like 2 dollars and I still couldn't pull the trigger. LOL
Yeah but does Target/BB/etc jack up the price on returns if the demand is high? AWD is a direct division off of Amazon (a retailer) and is how they deal with most of their returns now it seems. IMO I agree with the guy you replied to that it's just unethical to do. Supply and demand should have nothing to do with it, it just seems greedy. It is the same thing happening with the BD:CEs that is happening to ps4s as in lack of supply of the new one and demand still high for both new and used affecting used AWD prices. New ones being in stock (doubt it with BD:CE) would bring prices down for used AWD ones as it affects the pricing algorithm. In the absence of new ones in stock at Amazon, the secondary market sets the precedence and that sadly is pushing AWD used prices upwards. Either way, you never know when one cheap one will slip through the cracks so keep your fingers crossed.
I'm pretty positive Amazon doesn't decide "you know what,Yeah but does Target/BB/etc jack up the price on returns if the demand is high? Well still, I mean at some point somebody has to set a certain item to abide by that algorithm right? "New" items that are damaged especially, should never be part of any pricing algorithm really... New retail items on Amazon don't follow it they have a set price so I'd propose they should do the same for items like this.I'm pretty positive Amazon doesn't decide "you know what, those guys" and price certain items higher than others. It all has to do with how their computer systems (or algorithms) are set and they set it to auto-pilot, for the most part.
As was said in the post you quoted, the secondary market sets the precedence of what price the "auto-pilot" algorithm decides to roll with.![]()
Well I think I want them but I'm not sure so I cancelled them for you.
take the good with the bad, 30 dollar ps3s, vitas and 360s, overpriced damaged collector's editions. roll with the punchesWell still, I mean at some point somebody has to set a certain item to abide by that algorithm right? And yet, when that algorithm goes haywire and gives $90 TIV for a wireless xbox microsoft, nobody complains. Can't want them to exclude items when it's in your favor but not exclude items when it's in your favor.Well still, I mean at some point somebody has to set a certain item to abide by that algorithm right? Exactly.take the good with the bad, 30 dollar ps3s, vitas and 360s, overpriced damaged collector's editions. roll with the punches
Yeah but I've always wanted one and the price on AWD hasn't changed ... so you should make up your mind beforehandWell I think I want them but I'm not sure so I cancelled them for you.![]()

I understand taking the good with the bad and to an extent I agree... But lowering prices and raising them are two very, very different things. All stores (well, most of them) DROP prices on a regular basis. Sales, clearance, returns, etc etc. How many stores raise the prices above MSRP though? Any retail stores that do that?... So basically just Amazon right? Why are they so special, seriously, why... I've gotten extremely good deals at Target and BB before too so don't use the "oh they give really good deals so just deal with it".And yet, when that algorithm goes haywire and gives $90 TIV for a wireless xbox microsoft, nobody complains. Exactly.
FYI, they're not a store and MSRP doesn't factor into it. They're a re-seller.I understand taking the good with the bad and to an extent I agree... I see your point, really, I do. Amazon is not your traditional B&M store that needs to eliminate stock to make room for newer items. Also, GoHastings raises prices on the regular and constantly sells above MSRP, so your point is kind of invalid, in that sense.I understand taking the good with the bad and to an extent I agree... But they are still part of Amazon, which is my point. What's stopping Amazon from "buying" up some of these CE's and just "reselling" them there for more money? Yup, nothing... Wasn't this CE especially hard to find and went much quicker than people expected? Just sayin, may seem for out in left field but is it really? Ok maybe it's far out thereFYI, they're not a store and MSRP doesn't factor into it. They're a re-seller.
Target, Best Buy, even Wal Mart sometimes...have all sold CE's and systems for very cheap prices. Maybe not AS cheap but those ones that ARE that cheap are usually so for a reason (usually damage). I'm still holding my point, lolI see your point, really, I do. Amazon is not your traditional B&M store that needs to eliminate stock to make room for newer items. How many stores sell PS3/360 systems, obscenely overpriced collectors editions, etc. to $30 or so? Any retail stores that do that?... So basically just Amazon, right?
Edit: Eld sums it up much nicer than I could. lol.. I always forget that AWD is not really "Amazon", per say.
Would it make you happier if they called it Yangtze Warehouse Deals? But they are still part of Amazon, which is my point. Speaking of which, I received mine 30 minutes ago and it's in pretty darn good condition. Everything is intact, aside from some bending on the spine and mushed a little bit on the bottom corner.Another pointless debate. I'm just sick of hearing about Bravely Default at this point![]()
Sure sure but did you pay over retail for it?Speaking of which, I received mine 30 minutes ago and it's in pretty darn good condition. Everything is intact, aside from some bending on the spine and mushed a little bit on the bottom corner.![]()
I almost cancelled it. It was $44, way over my usual $36. I should contact them and gripe for overcharging me, those greedy bastids.Sure sure but did you pay over retail for it?
In all seriousness, I can't justify 60 for it. Lucky for those who got it sub 40.
Went ahead and grabbed a VG set. Calling around GS to see if they have balance boards even though the website seems to say no one does.Wii Fit U w/Fit Meter (VG) $34.62 (LN) $37.10
The part I don't like is they didn't do what any sane person would do and pack a CE in a manner that would give it even the slightest chance of reaching it's destination without being damaged, which you mention as well. To make matters worse it was OOS before release date giving consumers little chance to secure one. Moving forward I have little faith in Amazon to consistently package CE/LE items in a manner that I, or any gamer, would deem acceptable. Like you said though, the market will dictate whether they change these, or really any trends. I'm much more likely to get my CE's at GameStop/Best Buy in the future and if others follow suit eventually Amazon will determine why, especially with the amount of complaints they must receive on shipping these types of items.Well you know what you do if you don't like it? You simply don't buy it and the market will adjust or others will buy it.
It's their product and their side business, they can do whatever they want with it within the confines of the law and what the market will support. If they wanted to sell every high demand CE for $20 over MSRP they're perfectly able to.
Most people have the perspective to see that in situations like these that if not for having AWD to sell their damaged merchandise on that there would be dozens of CEs not even on the market as they would have been sent back to the distributor, and the CE contents destroyed, or destroyed outright by Amazon. If anything the complaint should be that Amazon failed to use due diligence in packing these items. Beyond that you may as well just complain that Nintendo didn't make every single copy the CE.
What is your price point? Not gonna lie, I think I might be ready to bite on a Xbox One finally if I see one. Assuming we do get a restock.
In the mid to lower $300s. I totally had one of the like $321 consoles ordered when they first showed up and then I canceled it immediately and have regretted it ever since. What is your price point?
Patience grasshopper, your time will come.In the mid to lower $300s. I totally had one of the like $321 consoles ordered when they first showed up and then I canceled it immediately and have regretted it ever since.
I almost jumped on the MPIT but am not sure I'd play it more than once. That Injustice is one I returned. It was not for me but is in excellent condition.I'm lazy and don't feel like reading the last couple pages.
Mario Party: Island Tour - (LN) $24.90 (or save a cent by ordering from Zoo Gator!)
Injustice - (LN) $22.27
Maybe awd is taking sales lessons from GameStop on over manufacture retail price on used sets ex: xenoblade and metroid trilogyWell you know what you do if you don't like it? You simply don't buy it and the market will adjust or others will buy it.

Mine arrived as well. I'll chime in once I get home. Hopefully everything is there.Just got my two gold headsets, really glad I ordered two of them.
First one I opened was the one graded G since it was cheaper, if it was good wouldnt even look at the other one and send it back for refund. Open it up, and again, NO FREAKING dongle, everything else is fine, just no dongle.
Opened up the one graded VG that was 5 dollars more, it is the first one ive gotten that was complete.
2 out of 3 gold headsets I got didnt even come with the freaking dongle.
Oh well finally got a set for 75 after tax.
In my response to the op, I wasn't discussing the ethics of the AWD but explaining why it happened. It was a running joke here with me a few threads back when I had to explain this and it still applies "It's the algorithm". It always has been and it will be for time unknown and unforeseen. This is why their is a cycle where things go up and down in price, stretch and expand like a rubber band and snap back, and repeat the cycle in AWD. Everyone else, including yourself has said plentiful on the matter, ethics and otherwise so I won't repeat it.Yeah but does Target/BB/etc jack up the price on returns if the demand is high?
