This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

DS 2 definitely has scary moments. Its just that DS 1 felt like one man on his own trapped in space with hideous monsters. DS 2 gave Isaac a voice and introduced Ellie, who was with you most of the way, plus the gameplay took on a more action-y style as opposed to the mechanical, weighty movements of part 1.

Both are 100% classic though, just for different reasons.

Hard To The Core is BY FAR my most prized achievement too, BTW. I felt like the greatest gamer on Earth when it popped.
Ditto. Especially when I completely forgot that there was a flying instadeath section at the end and had to pick up my controller off the floor from my early celebration. Dead Space 3 has too many of those.

Let's keep the discussion somewhat on topic.  I don't see the point of discussing Nintendo franchises in the XBL deals thread.

I once traded in some Wii games into Gamestop and bought XBL credit with it. So my gut is telling me that this is all on topic. I really wish Gamefreak would make a full blown Pokemon game for consoles.

I will be avoiding gaming internet this week after we find out the deals tomorrow. Will have to wait until the weekend to play Titanfall and don't want to be reminded all throughout the week.

I'm hoping for Final Fantasy III to go on sale for under $10. Played it on DS, but never finished it. Not motivated without achievements.

What are you guys even doing here? All of season 6 of the Clone Wars is up on netflix. It should be obvious what you should do. Come back when you're done. Thank me later.

I'm more pumped that the original Pokémon is on there. What did I do today? I went back to 4th grade for a few hours.

XBL sales day tomorrow!

If I could choose which games would be on the next sales, I'd choose games I already own, because I don't want to spend more in games this month LOL

Would buy Deadfall Adventures or Of orcs and men for the right price though. Or talking about arcade titles, would like Braid, Half-minute hero, Torchlight, NEO GEO battle coliseum, Garou MOW, Crystal Defenders or Ikaruga.

Oh gosh, I am actually just now getting into zombies in black ops for the first time, and I'm really kicking myself for missing the sale last week! I want those DLC maps!!

Ya know....I saw this and I got really excited and then realized that it was "a wishlist" of yours. Damn you! :wall:

That would be stellar if that happens!
Me too so I looked and there is no GoD version, so that will never happen.

This Project Spark game, how does it work? Is everything out there just a labor of love, or will there be a way to monetize your creations down the road? I don't have a XOne, but it looks pretty cool.

The original version launched on Xbox 360 in the west, but they made new version for PS3 and PC only.
Ah. Much sadness.

That's what I felt at first too. Then, I watched a couple of episodes and realized how stupid I was back in the 4th grade. Man, Ash is retarded.

Ah. Much sadness.
I don't understand why you're so sad that you can't get the Director's Cut of Deadly Premonition on the Xbox 360 when you have the superior original version to play instead. The re-release on the PS3 was widely criticized as slightly inferior than the original (Jim Sterling gave the 360 version an enthusiastic 10 out of 10 and awarded an 8 out of 10 to the PS3 version). It basically made the game look worse by removing the green filter and some water effects, had major stuttering problems with frame rate and even audio. Yes combat and movement were made more fluid, getting rid of some of the tankiness of the original controls in line with a more by-the-books 3rd person shooter feel, but part of the fun of the original was how tanky it was to move and fight.

And ultimately if you don't want semi-difficult combat, not that combat in the original game was hard, just turn the difficulty setting down as the game was never loved for it's combat, it was loved for its quirkiness. There are a few extra cut scenes that were added but no playable scenarios. So if you want to see that "suprising new scenario" that Swery65 added to the cut you can likely just youtube the end and after credits to see the changes to the ending. The PS3 version also added PS Move and 3D support, but really who is going to use either of those. The PS3 and PC do have the advantage of some DLC, but from what I recall it was mostly just clothing and car skins and some houses you could buy for extra save places (I think it was all quite costly for the DLC on the PS3 but the PC version comes with it all free so if you do want to buy one of the two go for the latter).

Anyways, begone your sad panda face. The original is pretty much as good if not better than the director's cut. So just buy the original and enjoy it.

Personally, the controls of the 360 version sapped my enjoyment of the game when I tried it. I just picked up the PS3 version but haven't dug into it yet.

Oh. Did not realize any of this. Much happiness! Then I remember Titanfall is coming out and there's still nothing about the 360 version. Back to sadness =[

I have enough credit on my 360 to buy, South Park: Stick Of Truth. I'm so tempted... Someone please talk me out of it and remind me it will be on sale in a few months!

I was wondering this myself because some of the games can potentially be massive and take years to make. I'm thinking that the ones that are huge (remake of Ocarina of Time, Pokemon, Final Fantasy 7, etc.), will have websites with a donate option.

They kind of get paid already, but not with real money. To get more content in Spark, you either have to buy credit or earn it from challenges. There are challenges for having a certain amount of downloads/positive votes.

No just do it the game is great. I like to think of it as me contributing $60 to Matt and Trey, as I've never payed dollars for their years of entertainment before. (I am aware that ubi and other companies get most of it).

A true CAG should wait. From what I hear it's short, the gameplay looked far from amazing to me, and the humor... well, it's South Park. I'd bet a large sum of money that it'll get a price drop very fast.

2 people have told me they 100% the game in about 6-8 hours. Sounds like a $30 buy to me.
Even if you want to ruin your experience by using a guide from start to finish I still think it's closer to 10 hours for 100%. No guide and your first playthrough should be about 10-12 hours.

I love that they need an entire "team" just to pick two free games a month. That sounds like the start of a "how many people does it take to screw in a light bulb" joke.

GWG to become more true to gamers

Honestly, I wish they would just change it to the way PS+ works. I don't care if I really "own" the games. I consistently subscribe to Xbox Live anyway. And I'm sure that gives Sony lower licensing costs thus the ability to offer newer games.

But I doubt MS will ever do that to not look like their just copying Sony.

Has anybody read this article yet?
GWG to become more true to gamers

Honestly though, as much as people like to compare the two programs(GWG and PS+), it's an illogical comparison because the proper comp to PS+ isn't GWG, it's XBox Live Gold itself. PS3 has the big advantage of offering free online play, no secondary subscription to use Netflix/Hulu, where on XBL you need a Gold account to do any of those things.
It's been said, if you are paying for XBL Gold to get the free games, you are getting ripped off. Most of us have a subscription for the abilities it gives us. GWG really is just icing on the cake.
PS+'s big selling point is the free games you get, along with potential hefty discounts(although, MS's recent sales have had some killer deals as well). If MS were going to offer similiar content, I do think they would have grounds to categorize it under a different umbrella and charge for it. Not that I would subscribe or anything.

What time do xb1 games go up for sale on the marketplace? I'm going up buy the digital version of titanfall and am wondering what time I can start downloading it. Do they go live at the same time 360 games go up?
