This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Just click "Hide" on your post. It hides it from everyone but the mods.

Don't grab Spidey from this sale because you can get the base game cheaper with enough patience (but only $3 or so cheaper, so if you don't think the wait is worth $3, just get it now). Just grab the Stan Lee DLC (and the other DLCs that interest you) now so you don't have to worry about a sale on them later. Then when Spidey for $10 shows up, nab it and you're all set.

Edit: I myself got Amazing Spidey for $25 during Black Friday 2012 at Walmart, because I am what they call "a sucker". :bouncy:

I even did a return/rebuy to Best Buy so I could get the version with the slipcover. Worth it.
The game has maintained it's price very well for some reason. Can only recall seeing it for $10 once and that was the Black Friday two years ago at the MS Store I referenced.

I need an adult.

Hmmm, if you have the Disc version of Amazing Spider-Man you coulde trade it in to Best Buy for $17 ($18.70 with GCU), buy a $15 Xbox Bucks card, submit the receipt through that text promotion to get $5 more and then buy the digital version for $13.50 on Xbox Live. Get a digital copy of the game, make about $4 in Best Buy credit and have $6.50 in Xbox Bucks left over.

Very tempted by this as I bought the game for $10 two Black Fridays ago at Microsoft Store...
That doesn't sound convoluted at all. LOL

You're suppose to wear cut off jean shorts. CUT OFF JEAN SHORTS! The look will confuse the birds to life with awkward fashion choice, while you cram your fist in honey combs to take honey pieces.
Honey combs? HONEY COMBS?!?!

So does the Vita. It's just those same indies and ports that I mentioned before.
The problem the Vita has isn't a lack of games, it's a lack of compelling exclusive games. When people look at the system they mostly see stuff they can already play somewhere else, likely on a system they already own, which makes it a lot less desirable for most people to purchase one (which creates a catch-22 of devs not developing games for it because there isn't a large enough market for it to be worthwhile). A shame, since from a hardware standpoint the Vita is fantastic and deserves more support than it's receiving.

Maybe if phones didn't already do that, I'd consider it as well.
My S3 does it as well, but it kinda blows when you're trying to hit more than one button at once in different screen sections. Phones won't always recognize your input. Which is why I'd rather have some kind of physical buttons.

Also, kills your gaming when someone calls or texts in the middle.

and that is the problem for XBox One. Most of its games can be bought on PC or Xbox 360.

At least the X1 version should be superior than the 360 one. Titanfall will be released soon for 360, so we will see then.

The One would be kicking ass right now if it was able to play 360 games and Microsoft focused exclusives on just the One.
And if it was $100 cheaper from the start and didn't have such shitty presentation for it before it's launch and if they could give a single reason why the Kinect is necessary and if PS4 didn't launch a week later and PS+ didn't devalue Gold and...Yeah, you get the gist.

I Honestly don't think backwards compatibility is that huge a deal. I Already have a 360 and by now so does everyone who wants one.

I'm a gamer with money, but for some being able to trade in the 360 might have been the push they needed. Also, I'd rather be able to play all my games on the one and not have to have 2 consoles.
As to Kinect, I love talkin to my TV all Jetsons like.

Hopefully the season pass isn't still borked...
I hope it is. I sold my spare Ep 2 code last time. Could use some free money, haha.

I think it'd be pretty valuable to me. Being able to use the snap feature with my 360 games (without having to run my 360 through it), cutting down on occupied space by my TV, less wires, etc.

I'd be happy to retire my 360 for the time being, and don't forget about how the Xbone plans to have external storage available. You know all those space problems people have in here? Gone. Just moves your saves to the Cloud and then to your Xbone and redownload the content on it, and bam, instant lack of space issues.

Yeah, but they (MS and Sony) probably thought people would just buy the next gen version cause its the same price and better graphically.

Yup. MS needs to get this shit started.
Sorry for the Captain Obvious post

True. Also, I have an issue with my phone as well. I use tapatalk cause its SUPPOSED to make shit easier, but you can never edit posts and often selects random posts when quoting people.

It'd be a lot easier to swallow if it was priced at $450 from the start seeing kinect is necessary. The kinect IS fun to use too.

I agree, the Kinect rocks. I also love the snap, and with the new smart glass beta....TV is awesome on XBox One. It even manages my DVR now.

I downloaded the beta app but haven't really used it for anything yet. I wonder if I can start recording my game dvr without snapping? Hmm.
Kinect makes things simpler. When it works. But its 1000 times better than the first kinect.

The first Kinect wasn't horrible, but a lot of devs had no idea what they were doing when making games with it. Skyrim is a great example of a game that Kinect makes significantly better. With Xbox One, you kind of need the Kinect to do anything with speed. At least for me, it works 99% of the time.

I hate going back to play games on 360. The system runs like a snail compared to Xbox One. If I could play Xbox 360 games using Xbox One, that would be amazing and the 360 would be sold. From a marketing standpoint it would not make much sense though when they can release updated versions for full price and people will pay.

That would be great. I was a little disappointed with the first smartglass app for X1. I'd like to have the app show Twitch chat from my phone. I tried using an app, but the chat wasn't updating properly.

I hope that at some point Kingdoms of Amalur is either on sale for something below $10 or GwG. I've been wanting to play that again for a long while now.
Hopefully, but at 10 bucks imo is definitely worth it.

I still haven't touched it since last sale :(
I haven't touched the DLC, and i have been trying not to playing it again cause backlog. Try it, its really good.

All you should need to do to sell someone on Kingdoms of Amalur is to say that Todd McFarlane was behind the visuals.

Any comic book fan worth his or her salt will buy it immediately. :p

My S3 does it as well, but it kinda blows when you're trying to hit more than one button at once in different screen sections. Phones won't always recognize your input. Which is why I'd rather have some kind of physical buttons.

Also, kills your gaming when someone calls or texts in the middle.
This sums up why cell phones will never fully replace mobile gaming platforms. Nintendo will always have a horse in that race and I'm glad. Anyone who says otherwise is happy with a mediocre experience or doesn't own a handheld gaming system.

and that is the problem for XBox One. Most of its games can be bought on PC or Xbox 360.
This will change with time but it will take a while. How long did Sony still support the PS2? Microsoft makes a ton of money off software and there are still a lot of 360's actively used out in the wild.

I'm a gamer with money, but for some being able to trade in the 360 might have been the push they needed. Also, I'd rather be able to play all my games on the one and not have to have 2 consoles.
As to Kinect, I love talkin to my TV all Jetsons like.
The first bit is absolutely true, there was too much incentive to hold on to last gen this time around. I still have my 360 because I have so many games for it I haven't played. I'd probably own both a PS4 and a X1 if that weren't the case and I could have traded in my 360.

I hate going back to play games on 360. The system runs like a snail compared to Xbox One. If I could play Xbox 360 games using Xbox One, that would be amazing and the 360 would be sold. From a marketing standpoint it would not make much sense though when they can release updated versions for full price and people will pay.
While I really don't like the X1 GUI, I have to agree, the 360 feels almost painful to compared to it in terms of just straight up speed.

That doesn't sound convoluted at all. LOL
Trade in disc, buy points, take advantage of points promo, buy digital game, profit on both ends. Better?

I Enjoyed my Kinect 1.0 on my 360, but I enjoyed it for the games that did work. For thing's like watching movies or navigating menus though? Nope. I Mean it's a nice novelty, but it simply comes down to is this better than using a remote control or even a controller? Nope. Trying the XBox One Kinect at my friend's and it was more responsive, but in the end with a remote or a controller there is really no delay and fast forwarding is no where as painful. Plus $100 for voice commands on thing's I didn't need voice commands for and features I don't care for (Skype) just doesn't do anything. If there were games or anything that better implemented the thing as opposed to them telling me I really want this thing mounted on my TV, than I'd be fine with it, but them telling me this is the future without really showing how or why it deserves that $100 bonus price tag is hard for me to welcome.

As for backwards compatibility, it was one of those thing's where maybe I have a personal bias, but when I get a new console I expect the future (or in the very least HD high upresed remakes) not so much wanting to play old games. Just I expect my eyes to be melting and I should be happy about it.

Does anyone know when the new Title Update (where you can carry sacks in your car) come out?

EDIT: I meant for State of Decay

I've rented it before and enjoyed it, but I'd like to play it again for achievements and DLC. I really enjoy getting all Gamerscore for a time consuming game and I don't think I've maxed out a retail game since.....Mother of pur DBZ: Budokai HD last July. I cannot believe it has been that long. I should've rented Dark Souls 2 for a couple more days and finished it off. That might have just given me the motivation to beat it. Or figure out how to get back into mage guild in Oblivion.

No I fully agree. Nintendo has some of the best handheld games and controls the handheld market. I just hate supporting them cause they rehash the gameboy/DS more than capcom rehashes the street fighter series.

I do miss my PSP though. I modded the shit out of it and played mostly gameboy and snes games on it, haha.

Every company with handhelds does that. PSP had 3 revisions and PS Vita has had one. Don't even get me started on Apple and the other smartphone companies. xD

That is why there are controllers for phone meow. I'm thinking about getting one for emulators, but the current emulators on Windows Phone work great for the games I've been playing (mostly turn based). I can imagine it being frustrating with fighting games or something more fast paced, but there is the controller meow.

I'm sorry, but what is the meow all about?

Yeah, but they're 1. expensive. 2. Awkward as hell looking. Id rather have a dedicated handheld in case of calls and texts. Plus. My phones battery life would done instantly.

Meow? Did I say meow? Am I a cat? Do I walk around all nibbly bimbly? Do I drink milk from a saucer?

Instead of now I say meow. Or instead of are you kidding me? I say are you kitten me? The 2nd one doesn't come up quite as often. I suppose I could say are you kitten me right meow or don't be kitten me right meow. Usually I use it to annoy my friends and it has transferred over to me using it all over the internets. Bad German grammar is probably going to be the next thing that transfers over in a few months. Some of it has already slipped out.

Still cheaper than buying a Vita and less awkward than carrying around NES-PS1 in your pocket. I've been eyeing that one that looks like a 360 controller. It would be purrrrrfect for playing NES-PS1 games. Only about $40 for the fancy one and less than $20 for the other one. I usually play turn based older games though, so I'm not sure if I'll get it. If all XBL games supported it, I'd buy it right meow.

Yeah, but that's also why I said id get a vita at a good price. Like $60-100 id buy one. As long as I can hack it. If not. I may need to rebuy a PSP.
(Piece of shit who stole my PSP. I hope you die a painful death.)

Yeah. It was at a shitty time in my life. I was living with my aunt, and the night it happened I went back home for the day, and some fucker broke in. Stole my PSP, my new Aerosmith guitar, and a bunch of money my uncle apparently had "hidden". Worst part was not only losing my shit, but those fuckers of "family members" blamed me. Like I had it set up. Yeah, cause I'm a douche like that. SMH.
