It hasn't been a huge issue for me until recently, but I have a hard time getting anything to load on the Network lately outside of the more recent content (NXT, Main Event, etc). Older PPVs have a hell of a time streaming consistently, and really the only "old" programming I can watch without issues are the classic 1993 Monday Night Raw episodes.

Yeah I got through ep 3 of Raw fine, but the 1993 Rumble wasn't happening.

Weird.

I dont know why you are so against the WWE Network, but everyone who has it seems to love it. You are insane if you truly think this will be gone by summer. If anything major happens it will be them taking live PPVs off the Network and putting them on it a week or so later.

I do expect WMXXX to be next to unwatchable when it airs live. I also would imagine if I am right about that they will offer something to make up for it, a free month or two of the Network or something. Maybe send the Miz to every subscribers house so we can all beat on him for a few minutes.

Internet programming will never put cable tv programming out of business, but this is the future and how more and more people watch their shows. To want to put this on cable alone would be a major step backwards. Unless they had some sort of deal where you get the cable channel, plus the internet stuff along with it.

I think you should just hook your Xbox up to the tv and pay the $10 monthly fee and enjoy what is a great thing for wrestling fans.
need to get off my fat ass to do it. LOL my router sucks but i got a 50 foot eithernet cable i could run it from my modem to my living room.

one of these days i will. But then again i bet my 3mpb speed im falling down to will not even run it (down from 50)

It will. 3 is plenty fast as long as you aren't downloading pr0n or something while you watch.

I don't expect WMXXXI to be on the Network next year when it airs live. The whole point of putting it on the Network this year is to drive up the number of subscriptions for the Network. Keep in mind they've only said 'you get all 12 PPV's' which doesn't indicate how long that lasts for.  My guess is only through next year's February PPV.  Also, if WMXXX is a disaster for the Network, they can use it as a scapegoat.

I don't expect WMXXX to be completely unwatchable on Sunday, but I do expect them to severely limit on-demand stuff.  I also think their 2-hour pre-show is there as a buffer to get their servers in gear for when the main show starts.

Anyway, prediction time:

Tag Team 4-Way:  The Usos

Divas Invitational:  Summer Rae or Brie Bella

6-man Tag Team: The Shield

Andre the Giant Battle Royale:  Rusev or The Miz

Daniel Bryan vs. HHH:  Daniel Bryan

Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker:  The Undertaker

Bray Wyatt vs. John Cena:  Bray Wyatt

Randy Orton vs. Batista vs. Daniel Bryan:  Daniel Bryan

The Network app got updated on the 360 last night and the performance was better, I managed to get through the first 2 hours of the 93 Rumble and although it buffered a few times it only kicked me out completely once.  Now when that happens you get a retry option instead of just go to WWE Home, unfortunately the retry just takes you back to the beginning of whatever you were trying to watch.  There doesn't seem to be any support for bookmarking but maybe that's too much to expect.

Yea the app needs a bookmarking option. And a previously watched option too. I have a few PPVs half watched and when I go to resume them I would rather have them right up top and not have to go through the menus again.

Steve Austin confirms he will be at Wrestlemania 30.

WWE lost a major lawsuit today against bootleggers. They were trying to get a court to allow them to seize any counterfeit goods in a 5 mile radius of WMXXX. Judge said that wasn't going to happen because the company didn't list any plaintiff.

I'm assuming you meant defendant, they would have been the plaintiffs themselves. So they didn't so much as lose a lawsuit as they never had one to begin with if they didn't name a defendant.

Yep I screwed up.

“The problem with Plaintiff’s request is apparent once one recalls that the order it requests is not directed against a single named, identified, or even described person—all the defendants are John Does, and Plaintiff provides no particular information about the identity of any of them. At best, Plaintiff defines Defendants almost tautologically: Defendants are anyone who would be a proper defendant within broad geographic and temporal limits.”

Found this interesting:

iTunes recently added 2 new albums to it's store, a bunch of collections of themes by Jimmy Hart. One album is only WCW stuff and the other is older WWF stuff. Most noteworthy is there's a bunch of WCW stuff that has never been released and are now in HQ (you know you wanna listen to Buff Daddy and American Males on your smartphone while working out), WWF stuff you can skip imo because most of them was already released on the Anthology album a long time ago.

I agree it needs some kind of favoriting option. I know the PS3 app added bookmarking for PPV's you watched and stopped halfway, but you have to go back into the PPV to continue.

The Network also needs a sort by year for all PPV's and by Company, not just by PPV name, since some are just around for 1 year before they changed names.

Yea, the Roku has had that resume feature on the shows which is helpful. I think if you go to the Network on the computer you can sort by years.

I am still waiting for them to add the SNME and Clash of Champions

Do any of the apps have a DVR-like feature for the live stream? So if the stream manages to go to crap during WM, I can just pause and wait a bit?

Hey guys, I just wanted to shoot out a shameless self-promation on my wrestling podcast called Thunderlips podcast (points for anyone that gets the reference) . Our subjects are mainly nostalgia from our childhood. So we cover wrestlers from 80's and 90's and even touch upon recent wrestling. We're just three dude with a fucked up sense of humor. Check us out. If you don't like us, no problem. If you do, welcome to the family.

I think it still looks nice. Since they are indoors in an older dome this year, I guess they were a little limited on what they could do. Also having an additional structure around the ring like at previous Wrestlemanias is totally unnecessary since they don't have to worry about the elements. Heck at Wrestlemania XXIX they prepared the ring in case of snow.

I think the set will show well on TV and the lighting will definitely be better. Lets just hope they don't blow a circuit like Super Bowl XLVII.

The top of the set (the purple parts) don't look right to me.  One thing I don't understand is that it seems like on the field area that everything is on an elevated plane. No idea why they did that.

PC doesn't seem to have it... And I suspect its the most fully featured version.

I do have my own question like that... Which platform do we all think is going to be the most stable? I've set it up for my PC to be on the bigscreen... but I wonder if I should have the PS3 up and ready..?

Lastly, have they said rather or not WM30 will be on the network like all the other PPV shows or will it disappear for awhile? (Assume it runs fine... If the stream craps out then I assume it will stay on the network...)

I read someplace that WMXXX will be available on the Network to stream as soon as the show ends. Also as for the DVR thing, if you just come and start watching the show late, like turn it on at 7:30 or whatever and choose start from beginning you will be able to watch it not live, so maybe any technically problems can be avoided? Or maybe not I dunno.

My Roku seemed to be the most stable when I watched NXT Arrival. Ill likely be watching on my PS4 or 360 since those are on the bigger tv with surround sound.

I'll have my PC handy as a backup, but PS4 / 360 will be the primary means.

If those fail, I guess it's back to the old means of watching PPV.

Odd thought: I wonder what they do with all the old set pieces from pay-per-views? They must have a giant storage facility somewhere. It'd be weird to walk through something like that knowing that most of it will never be re-used.

I like the set design but I had hoped to see a classic WWE(F) logo in there someplace to signify 30 years.

They actually just started a YouTube show about said Storage facility and it's pretty great. They highlight the Wrestlemania I ring in the first episode.

(I have no idea why this is on YouTube but not the network)

Yeah, I really liked that video.  It'd be nice if they had an extended episode of that on the Network.  The Network also needs to make bloopers/blunders a permanent episodic show, because the Countdown episode was amazing.

And for those who want it, here is the "as of now" order for Wrestlemania XXX:

Shield vs. Kane/NAO

Battle Royale/Hall of Fame Announcements

Cena vs. Wyatt

Lesnar vs. Taker

Diva Invitational

HHH vs. Bryan

Orton vs. Batista vs. _____

Yes. Both DDP's introduction and Jake's speech were fantastic. It sucks that they screwed it up with that horrible follow-up skit :/

My stream skipped a couple of times during Lita's speech, but it's been fine since then on PS3. Hope this bodes well for tomorrow.
