Yup.

Sucks that you didn't like Last Tinker. It looked like it could be cool. I don't get why they went with an AC style of platforming, that game almost cries for standard 3D platforming. Also you make it sound like one big fetch quest with terrible combat. I expected it to have all those terrible things but I was still hopeful because it looked cool.
Yeah, I was really hoping it would turn out great since I really miss all the 3D platformers that used to come out, but it just didn't come together that well. Also hate giving negative reviews in general, but you know, integrity and all that.

If you found it at all helpful I really appreciate the thumbs up. Right now people are rating it down probably out of disappointment, so it'd be nice if someone who actually read it would give it a vote.

Mobile = crap
Generalizations are crap.

A lot of mobile games are just poor attempts at moving a PC/console game to a phone, but there are some games (Device 6, Cut the Rope, Republique, Ridiculous Fishing) that work really well on mobile devices and do interesting things you don't see on other platforms.

Sunset Overdrive = Infamous in a Mario Sunshine world. Looks kind of dumb to me either way.
That sounds flipping rad!

Sounds like a game for Tyler.
I fuck ing hate grinding for trophies so it doesn't sound like a game for me at all.

They're cowards for getting concussions? The same concussions that can give them severe mental trauma later on, where several former players have committed suicide while preserving their brains so that the affects of concussions could be studied and documented properly to help future players potentially play without sacrificing their lives for a sport they love to play? Even beyond concussions, former players suffer all sorts of physical issues that they have to live through without halfway decent health care support from the NFL until whatever the recent settlement has offered for them. I know trolling and snark is popular around here, but let's not be stupid about this stuff.
All that stuff sucks a ton, but like I said, there are a million other ways to make a living besides football. They are voluntarily choosing to slam into other humans at full speed, then the players association and retired players are acting as if their shocked that their bodies are breaking down in their 40s and 50s.

I have no problem with the helmet to helmet rule. But it's the other unnecessary roughness rules that have been tweaked so heavily that defensive players can barely try to separate the ball from an offensive player any more. They basically have to let them catch it before they can tackle them. It's awful, it's completely handcuffing defenses and changing football.

Would I have to log in to do that? I ain't got time for that, I'm too busy arguing about a sport I don't really care about.

EDIT: OMG I went to do it and after I finally remembered my password, it game me that stupid authentication shit. No way. Sorry bud.

I'm sure they're plenty prepared to take hard hits, but they should not have to be subjected to constant shots to the head that can cause severe mental issues for the rest of their lives. You do realize that the research on the affect of concussions on NFL players is a fairly recent thing, right? Nobody that played from the 1920s to the 1990s really had much of an idea that those hits that they took to their head and felt woozy afterwards would be such a big deal later on, much less earn much money for those earlier guys to pay for it. They got all of the pain and little means of actually paying for the treatments. To call them cowards for wanting to avoid that is ridiculous. I'm guessing that we're not going to agree on this, so I'll just agree to disagree.

These players can easily play without making the obvious plays to hit them in the head, so it's about them being smart enough to adjust their game. It doesn't help that there are a lot of defensive backs and linemen that aren't good at tackling WRs or TEs, so they try to go for the legs or something dumb like that. Any defensive player blaming the rules for their poor tackling is just putting the blame on somebody else because they don't want to admit that they're not as good as they think they are.

I agree with your point overall, but not on this particular sentence. It's been common sense for quite awhile that head injuries have lasting effects. Sure, there may not have been a lot of research on it, but it's not like these people were completely clueless. People make bad decisions for something they love and want to do - regardless of how much data there is that tells them it's foolish. Athlete's are especially susceptible to this since they are younger and so competitive that short term gain is more important than long term loss.

7x more people watched the f'ing NFL draft last night than watched the Bruins vs Canadians NHL Playoff game. Ouch.

Do you know how many people watch crap like The Voice and Dancing With The Stars? Does that make them better than a show like Community that just got canceled due to poor ratings?

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy football. But if I was forced to only watch hockey and baseball year round then I wouldn't complain.

Wasn't trying to say football was better. Though I don't watch hockey because I can't see the puck. Oh, look - the light is on! I guess they got a goal!

And, yeah, baseball forever, y'all!

It wasn't really until the early 90s that the NFL start taking concussions seriously enough to start researching their effect on their players and it wasn't until about five years ago that they found hard evidence that players that committed suicide suffered from CTE as a result of all of the head shots. Junior Seau was one of those players that helped make the effect of concussions a more serious deal than it had been in the past. They've even found evidence of the same sorts of issues affecting hockey, rugby, soccer, and baseball players along with wrestlers in that same timeframe.

Time for some off topic discussion I suppose....

It's less about the big hits that result in concussions (even undiagnosed ones). The bigger problem is they have recently figured out that all of those smaller and more frequent hits are just as dangerous in the long term then the big, concussion inducing hits that got all of the attention.

So the only way to win is to not play.

I'm guessing you hate your wife but don't have the balls to stand up to her so you talk big on the internet? Just a shot in the dark here.

Yup. Average NFL players salary $1.9 million per year. Average American household income $50,500 per year. Every NFL player has a choice to make.

NFL players actually have the lowest average salary of the 4 major sports (mostly due to team size + less games played.)

Don't know and can't easily find which of the sports has the shortest career length. My guess would be it's the NFL again.

Non-guaranteed contracts are a bitch.

Then they better start working on their mid-range jumper and boxing out.

Also, if you can make 1.9 million in one year in the NFL, that equates to 37 years of earning $50,500.

Yeah, it's definitely high risk/high reward. Problems for NFL players would be no minor league to fall back into and then later get called up from and the risk of having their contract cut with no compensation.

Stay in school, kids.

PS: Who's saying they deserve head trauma/brain damage? I think we're just saying that you'd have to have blinders on to not know that you're entering the sport with lower pay for the average player and the highest chance of long term damage. You can try to get the NFL to make as many rules as they can to improve safety but the risk will always be there and if they choose to take that risk at this point then it should be largely on them. It's like taking up smoking at this point and then acting as if you didn't know it would affect your health.

If you don't want someone else to make billions off of you risking your health then don't join the league.

Community hasn't been good in years. Let's not kid ourselves.

Are you suggesting that they deserve severe head trauma because they make that much money?
Deserve? No. But it's a risk they're taking and they are being compensated at fair levels. Honestly more than fair levels. Coal miners make anywhere from $80K to $115K a year for taking similar risks with their life. The average boxer or MMA fighter definitely makes a lot less than NFL players as well.

^ @Frisky already hit the nail on the head, but for anyone interested in learning more check out the documentary League of Denial. *Hipster* warning, it's PBS. The problems are very real and anything but a "pussification" of the sport. Shit just went undiagnosed before. What's more terrifying is that it is not limited to the professional level. Saying it's a "choice" ignores that some trauma may begin well before players even leave high school. Good on the NFL for finally coming around and taking steps to promote smarter and safer play.

I didn't think it was boring, but the pacing in the early parts of the game is so sedate that I did get sleepy while playing it.
To be fair, I typically game late at night so I was already tired. I also remote played a little while in bed so I'll make sure not to do that again, lol.

Okay. Just wanted to make sure you weren't saying as terrible of a thing as you could've been. Players today probably won't get effects nearly as bad as previous generations, though most older players made shit for salaries due to the league not being as big/successful until the past few decades.

You are a fucking idiot if you think slamming your head against someone else's head over and over again isn't going to cause long term damage.  I don't care if it's 1920 or 2010, you are motherfucking idiot.

"This game was so boring that it put me to sleep", said the CAG in his pajamas, tucked snugly into bed with a warm glass of milk.

Athletes have proved for many, many years that they only care about the immediate future. Look at Robert Griffin III, who was considered an extremely smart player coming into the NFL, in that playoff game in 2013 after suffering a bad knee injury because his pride wouldn't let him sit out the rest of the game since he could ruin not only his ability to play the next season, but the rest of his career. Don't for one second think that these guys are that aware of the long-term ramifications of their actions ten, twenty, thirty, or forty years down the line when they see immediate success right in front of them. Hindsight is 20/20 and we don't have nearly the pressure put on us at any point in our lives to compare to what professional athletes have on them during games.

Nah, actually my wife is pretty awesome. I never really understood how she deals with my crap. I get a lot of sighs and side-eyes with some of the stupid shit I say, but she still puts up with me.

And she just finished her first year on her way to a doctorate of audiology, so she's pretty friggen smart.

An extremely smart NFL player is the equivalent of a 9th grade education.

I'm not going to even pretend to understand the pressure aspect of it all, because I don't. But it almost sounds like you're making excuses for athletes making stupid decisions. And that's where we'll have to disagree. I try and put money into my Roth IRA every year because I'm concerned about my situation in 30 and 40 years from now. If I'm wise enough to worry about it now, why can't others be?

And about that specific situation, I 100% blame Mike Shanahan. In fact, I 100% blamed Mike Shanahan before it even happened. You lose the playoff game and you live to fight another day.

And fuck the Seahawks since they were loosely involved.

Forgot to mention this sooner, but Child of Light is really boring.  I fell asleep while playing it too.

I mean, I had taken two Ambien already and am narcoleptic, but seriously so boring!

What does the money have to do with it? Athletes don't worry about whatever happens down the line while they're playing. You were criticizing them for being stupid enough to play like they do and then complain about suffering from severe injuries many years later. I said that they very much are that stupid when they're playing because they don't consider the long-term impact of their actions because the immediate success is more important to them at that moment. They'd sooner let their leg snap right off to get a touchdown to win a big game than sit out and live to play another day most of the time, but if they do that, they get ridiculed by fellow players, critics, and the internet like Jay Cutler. That doesn't mean that rule changes and teaching better fundamentals when they're younger are a bad idea because it helps save them from themselves. That also doesn't make them cowards for pushing for that stuff.

We fucking agree, so I don't know why you're disagreeing about our agreement.

Yea i played like 3 hours of that game and then i got lost and i dont even know what to do now and the i dont like turn based games so yea its the perfect game to make u sleep. I dont like the game that much, shoulda been a action platformer instead of turn based.
