Point is, I went to ridiculous lengths to make it believable so I don't see how they could prove that I did it and were basically just taking the word or some random stranger on the internet.
Man, it sounds like it would have been easier to just play the game! :joystick:

Wow, The Bureau's price dropped like a rock. I'm annoyed that none of the XCom collections are on sale though. I would have picked up the XCom Classics pack for a good price.
Now you're just Bobbyfy-ing... it's followed a normal price trajectory... it came out in August.

I know, I know, before your time :newbie:

I don't know if I even want The Bureau for free using credit :( I've never heard great things about the game.
y u no read thread?

A handful of us picked it up and played it back in Jan. It's enjoyable. I really liked the setting/period. I have a friend who 100%ed it.

I know it dropped in August, I remember watching the hilariously stupid YOLO trailer for it right before it shipped, I just forgot it's almost been a year since then. A crazy, crazy year.

Here's the trailer, for those curious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uWz8iRjCiA

I'm sorry to have failed you... YET AGAIN. :)

Don't feel bad. She's easy to displease, and then please when she gets an excuse to berate you over it. :p

*looks at Bob's Poker Night and Poker Night 2 rewards*

Man, if I give you any more eye patches you won't be able to see =/
Lmao, I'm guessing you've never gamed a poker video game before. Though I suppose my reasons for learning are a little embarrassing.

I've considered picking up Shadowrun Returns + Dragonfall. The two + 25% off (or 20% if the 25% doesn't work) would use up about all my credits. It'd just be a shame to buy anything at such a small discount.

So I was playing 100% Orange Juice for fun with Squirrel, Sifu, and Flowette and Sifu unintentionally triggered my achievement that gives the highest playfire reward (And Away They Went - £0.50 - Use a trap to prevent enemy level-up)

thx 4 gmg credit Sifu

Valve re-released the Orange Box? Does it come with Half-Life 3?

Reported for having others earn your rewards for you.

Playing games for Playfire Rewards....what blasphemy is this!!!!!

Right - b/c it ain't great.

While I did like it b/c it plays like Mass Effect 2+3 combat-wise but is a bit more strategic, I just think the overall story and characters are underdeveloped here. Moments to the story & characters that should be important - well, they often just ain't handled like such; and/or the ball is dropped entirely.

It's a shame - b/c the game gets going story-wise in a very interesting way MUCH later in the game, you'll be wondering some things. You'll wonder why the hell it took so long to get to this level of intrigue; and actually wonder why it didn't handle its material earlier w/ such better care. handling, and intrigue.

Given that these guys (2K Marin) put out such excellent story, characters, and premise in Bioshock 2: Minerva's Den DLC, a lot of this stuff comes as a disappointment.

TL;DR - The Bureau is solid overall, but that's as far as it goes.

I got The Bureau earlier this year from Amazon. I found it to be better than I was expecting. With the way people bad mouth it I was expecting a really janky lack of polish, but it plays fine. The worst I can say about it is that is all it is, fine. It's definitely worth $5 though if you like shooters where you control a squad and give orders.

The biggest problem with the game is that it never amounts to more than being a simple Mass Effect style shooter/rpg set in the 60s, complete with over the top alien invasion set pieces. It's hard to take the story seriously because the sheer level of what you go up against could not be covered up. The original concept of being a secret agent that covers up alien encounters would have been much cooler.

And yet you still recommended it on Steam...
Right. I said it's decent, not freaking horrible. Major, MAJOR difference.

I said it's decent, not a "great" masterpiece. Major, MAJOR difference.

I really dug the actual combat itself here; and especially the art direction & setting in this game.

There's a major, major difference b/t what is a solid game - and something that is great.

Something like Mass Effect 2 - yeah, that'd be what I'd consider great.

Something like The Bureau - that's just decent.

Most games do NOT ascend to those kind of levels of greatness that games like Mass Effect 2, DAO, Deus Ex 1, and PST have reached, IMHO.

I wonder if it will be in a 2k Humble Bundle.

So... let's see if I understand it... if it is a decent game and you're a Great Major... the game is good?

Bureau is a decent game - and that's where it ends, IMHO.

PERIOD.

It would need to improve its storytelling + character department quite a damn bit.

I didn't even touch on the game not being the best performing game in DX11 mode - but that certainly needs improvement, as well.

EDIT:

do you think it will be in the 1st or 2nd tier?
Go ask 2K.

I have no idea what you're even talking about anymore.
