Somehow I missed it. When was it?

Also, apparently this is a real thing:

During the Reigns/Kane opening segment. He was one of the suits that came out to break them up.

Ah. Opening segments are almost always background noise to me. I'll have to go back and re-watch.
If it's the one I think he is. He's the one that gets shoved by Reigns before spearing Finlay.

Also spotted Mike Rotunda and a balding Dean Malenko. Joey Mercury was also in that segment, but I didn't see him.

It's official now: I'm going to all three nights of the PWG Battle of Los Angeles! You can check out the incredible card at http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com/tickets. So that makes 5 shows in one week at the end of August. SummerSlam comes on August 17, then Raw in Anaheim on August 25, Smackdown in Ontario the next day, and PWG on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!

You said 5 shows but then mentioned 6. Which one are you skipping? Man that's a lot of wrestling.

Damn, that's quite a lineup that even a non indie watching fan such as myself can recognize names and appreciate.

It ain't close close, but a half hour drive won't kill me. Might have to see what one of those PWG shows are like.

And to see this:

The opening Angle-WILL-OW thing was amusing, largely due to Angle's explaining the character in great detail. The tag title match was a lot of fun - Bram was given a lot of time to shine and made use of it. The Roode-MVP deal took forever to make zero matches. At least it had EY selling Lashley's spear. I like Storm as an evil mentor for Sanada. Aries-Sanada was a must-watch match - first one on TNA since probably the Wolves' ladder match, and it was far better than that. Bully cuts a promo on Rhino about how he'll cut a promo on Rhino. Okay then. They talked about THE HISTORY between Rhino and Bully, which I can't recall in either ECW, WWE, OR TNA and they didn't elaborate. Then Tommy Dreamer ran wild in 2014 and the BPs' massive chests cut a promo about the KOs title match. LOL @ the KOs title match having the bell ring without the champion out there. Nice camel toe on Madison after the DDT. LOLed at Brittany just looking away when Angelina told her to - aren't heels supposed to be smarter?

The Lashley hype video was fantastic - he looks very impressive, and he comes off as a killer with MVP as his hype man. Lashley as the worker with MVP as the talker is so much better than MVP being the worker and talker since he can't go at that level anymore. Battle royal is largely just stuff going on.I love all the eliminations involving the storylines though - they're not just random. I liked Roode eliminating Storm and chuckled at Spud chopping Bully - shame he responded by doing a ball claw. Excellent elimination teases from Hardy and EY - they weren't given much time together, but their stuff made me want a singles match between them. The Lashley-Hardy staredown was okay, and their match has the potential to be really good with Lashley looking great tossing dudes around and Hardy playing that role perfectly. This was a good show overall, but not amazing beyond the X Title match, Tag Title match to a lesser extent, and the fantastic Lashley hype vid.

WWE Raw Deal, a CCG distributed by Comic Images and fun as hell.

P.S. Don't ever drunkenly tweet Jeremy Borash. I'm gathering he isn't exactly pleased with me. I'm not sure if I should be entertained or disgusted at his responses.

The online-only version at the turn of the century was better. Yes WWE did an online TCG over a decade before anyone else thought of it.

What'd he say? He deleted the tweets.

I have screenshots saved of each one.

Mind you, I was pretty drunk last night but I'm not going to pull a Kurt Angle, haha. I sound like an asshole here but I was still a little surprised by his responses.

He sent a tweet promoting TNA's return of the 8-sided ring. Here was my response.

"@JeremyBorash Sad when your ring has more sides than the yearly income of any of your employees."

He responded with:

"@Merendino hysterical! That joke doesn't even make sense tool lol"

which prompted me to respond with:

@JeremyBorash 6 sides as in 6 figures. No need to resort to personal attacks sir. Just stating a sad fact. Nothing personal."

His response:

"@Merendino Sad fact? Fact? The sad fact is you don't have a clue and you're a moron."

My final exchange:

"@JeremyBorash Moron? The company I work for will surely last longer than the one you represent. I expected better out of you. Disappointed."

Petty and dumb conversation but it made for an entertaining night.

Wow, how professional of Borash. Name calling? Professional AND mature. I am sure if anything is said of this he will just say how it was all a work and we all fell for it!!!

Raw Deal died years ago; the creator passed away after his battle with cancer.

They still make excellent virtual cards at www.teamcanadaonline.net should anyone wish to check them out.

Don't take this personally but after reading the tweets back and forth if I was him I would've told you to fuck off as well, at least initially.

I'm talking about the predecesor to Raw Deal from like 00-02 or something like that. You bought the starter disk at EB/GS and then could buy cards through the client. It was a really fun online game, shut down for physical Raw Deal to start up.

I know I sounded like a total douche; I was just surprised that he even responded at all let alone how he responded (in relation to who he is and who he works for).

Yeah I don't know why people in a position like that ever engage with fans on twitter..... it never ends well.

Yoshie Tatsu 2.0
You only say that because you're too racist to watch anything other than WWE / American puro. Stop comparing one wrestler to another based solely on their race.

I'm excited at the prospect of seeing KENTA go up against Steen, Neville, and Zayn. Along with Rollins, Cesaro, and Rollins on the main rosters. I especially think KENTA / Cena could put on something really special. Maybe Summerslam 2015.

I think it is more WWEs track record with Japanese stars more than racism why he is saying Yoshi Tatsu 2.0. Just thinking quickly and the only semi decent thing they ever did was Funaki, and that was a racist joke gimmick. I was always a WWF guy, but that was one thing I liked more about WCW, they actually gave the Japanese stars a chance.

This. Seriously, has there ever been a single wrestler in the WWE of Asian decent that didnt have a goofy gimmick? Closest I can think of is Kenzo Suzuki but they slapped that "I love America" gimmick on towards the end of his run. I really do hope though that under HHH's regime that they can push Kenta as a serious contender.

Tajiri (while handled poorly) got a pretty decent push even though he had some goofy segments along the way. Yokozuna is likely the most successful character in this regard even though the guy wasn't even japanese. I think they could have done something more with Hakushi but again they saddled him with Barry Horrowitz of all people. *Death Gong*

Hakushi is the guy that really pissed me off that they didnt do anything with. Started off great with a feud with Bret Hart.... and then nothing. So sad.

No no, let's ignore the obvious, disregard history, and just call people racist. I'm sure the legion of friends he has looking at this board to laugh at everyone who is not him is right there with him.

Doesn't matter how good he is. It'll take a fucking miracle for this guy to be anything above lower midcard. Would be nice if he wound up as a featured attraction eventually, but don't count on it.

You dumb as dogshit mothrfucker. Do you even read the goddamn thread before you say the stupid shit you say? Obviously you don't, you ignorant, attention needy, know everything to not know jack fucking shit douchebag.

I say all this because, if you had even been following the continuity or the thread, you would have clearly seen my Yoshi Tatsu 2.0 comment was directly below the one where Purple Flames said he hoped they would make good use of him, but we knew better.

Even a brain dead full potato motherfucker could tell i was not being racist, but offering a guess as top what WWe would do with him. Get over yourself you fucking douchebag attention seeking mark.

Hey! Dont call me a brain dead full potato motherfucker! =-P

I think it is a good sign that WWE is calling him Kenta. Maybe that means they wont give him some random generated name.

Was Yoshi Tatsu good before coming to WWE?

I'd like to think Triple H sees the value in having international stars on the roster...he did try extremely hard to make Sin Cara work.

I need John to come up with a way to block quotes of people that are on ignore so I don't have to see their asinine posts.  HttM is the herpes of the wrestling threads, he won't go away.

I've been a big fan of KENTA for quite a while but I have very little hope of this paying off very well.  If they change his name at all it will be a mistake.  He already has a one name handle so he can't be Antonio'd.

There is an increasing racism problem in the WWE and its getting more and more attention lately. Rigor Mortis was a fantastic segue to bring it up. He perpetuated the idea that KENTA should be treated like Yoshi Tatsu or Kenzo Suzuki. I'm not a fan of that.

These articles are just the first I imagine to get the WWE to make more than just whites their champion.

i wouldnt. I would mostly called them washed up people trying to get their name back in the news. I love how every time a black person says I was not paid enough cause there was racism going on. Ummm taker got millions and you got thousands. Look at how many more of his crap sold then yours. He said he was kicked out of nicer dressing rooms maybe cause those people were higher up on the Card then you DUH.

said he worker hard all those years and didnt make any money. 99% of the people who worked back in the 80s and 90s didnt make jack crap unless you was a major player. Im sick of blacks and the rest playing the race card but since the president does it everyday they will as well.

i hope wwe never puts the belt on a black just cause of this. I would rather see someone earn it then just be given the belt.

I cant think of a single black person in the WWE right now that should be the top champ. maybe some lower talent in the NXT but all of the bigger names are gone. I could see mark henry been champ

but people like kofi i could never see him holding the title. he is look what i can do in battle royals instead of really showing wresting talent

that russian dude could be holding a title but they are holding him down, I cant think of mostly anyone i would want to be champ right and i think WWE thinks the same. They have no idea what they are doing that is why the tossed the belt back to the paper chump cena

they really need new talent and stop bringing back old people like Y2J and MIZ and other crap

I think they're doing a good job taking their time with Rusev.  He'll get his hands on the US title soon enough.  Big E and Swagger were great choices to put him with vs. him continuing to stomp on Zack Ryder/Xavier Woods/Kofi sized guys.

The last thing they need is another Del Rio where he peaks early and then he's still there, and can still perform well but they don't know how to change him up so people can still care about him.

See also: Sheamus, though he at least had that bit of time in WWECW.

A lot of the stuff with Kamala that Ive heard did sound pretty bad. They would make him change in closets and stuff. At one point the Ultimate Warrior saw what was going on and would let him use his private locker room. And Andre the Giant was a known racist and asshole so that is all accurate.

The whole no black champions in WWE is nonsense. Booker T was world champion in WWE, just not until he was actually over with the crowd. But it wasnt the WWE title? Whatever. And why does the Rock not count just because he is half Samoan?

Putting a title on a guy just because he is black is AS racist as not putting a title on him just because he is black. (Same goes for voting for presidents... but thats another rant.) The only black wrestler that I can think of who should have been world champion, that wasnt is Faarooq. He wouldve made a great heel champion but they missed the boat on that.

Even the shit booking of Japanese stars really cant be blamed on racism. It is more the fact that these guys usually dont speak much english so cannot connect with the fans that way. WWE cares more about interviews than wrestling ability, which is a shame.. but not racist.

Again with calling me a fucking racist... I was not saying they SHOULD make him another Yoshi tasu you fucking dumbass, I was saying in all likelyhood they will. You have finally reached the point that you will make the first ever person to be inducted into my ignore list. Talk about that areound the water cooler with your mark friends tomorrow you self serving attention whore.
